Great place to eat, I really love their breakfast! It is decorated with old nostalgia and staff is friendly. Great prices. On Wednesdays during the summer months they have a antique car show.

Just had breakfast here. Fantastic food, service and diner. Come to ME a few times a year for work and just found this place. Will be back and looking forward to it.

Come hungry! This diner is the real deal. It’s not a restaurant pretending to be a diner, it’s a real diner, serving real food. I ordered their turkey dinner and the meal was amazing, great baked potato, savory stuffing, succulent and delicious sliced turkey breast. The diner was packed mid-week and yet service was fast. If I lived in Bangor, I’d hit this place weekly. As I am not, it will be at the rim of the bucket on my next Maine visit.

Very nice surprise. The place looks like it’s housed in a former Nissen Bakery outlet store or something. The minute you get outa your car your hear oldies music. 50s/60s period décor and a great diner menu. We were staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on the Hogan Rd for a concert and opted to not eat the hotel breakfast but drive down the rd on our way home to Denny’s. They were closed and thank goodness cus we found this place on Unilocal just a few miles away. Would certainly go back.

Don’t be put off by the quaint exteriors. Not that you should, it’s adorable. Vintage, 1950’s feel and oldies but goodies music playing. The food was great and lightning fast. The english muffin sandwich with eggs and ham and bacon was really good. Pancakes were good. Biscuits and gravy were good to. Nice find!

Stopped in while in Maine for a weekend recently. The chocolate chip pancakes and homefries were delicious! Would definitely stop by again if I’m ever near there.

Giving two stars and it’s only that high because the room was decorated in a fun and interesting way. We went for lunch, the service was mediocre and the food was terrible. I had the wrs«grilled» chicken sandwich. Pretty sure it started out frozen and my daughter had an overcooked, dry previously frozen hamburger. We will never go back and unless you’re in it just to see the fun decorations you shouldn’t either.

this little spot really doesn’t look like much from the outside, but let me tell you, it’s truly a diamond in the rough. the service was great, the restaurant was nicely decorated with a traditional dinner theme, and my food was soo delicious. I had the lobster roll/seafood soup combo. the seafood soup had to be the best I’ve ever tasted. it had lobster, shrimp, and scallops. the lobster roll was it’s regular small size but very tasty. combo was $ 19.99 and worth every penny.

Traditional diner vibe but the service was mediocre, food was nothing special, and the menu was very minimal. Far better options for breakfast in the area. Didn’t have lunch/dinner but wouldn’t go back to try it.

Decided to stop in here to take my kids for lunch and wasn’t impressed. The service wasn’t bad but the food was cold and not as good as it should have been considering the bill was $ 54 for me and 2 children. My husband has been here a couple times in the past and had told me his visit was similar. :/

I often travel to Maine to visit my mother and for business. Fortunately I fly into my hometown of Bangor, Maine, home of Nicky’s. When I was a kid this place was called Nicky’s Cream Parlor and they served only ice cream. Nowadays I go for breakfast and what a breakfast they bring out. I always order the gigantic breakfast and I have never been let down. And the baked beans? Seriously? They are exactly the same as what my mother makes, just really really good. I wish I could give Nicky’s more than five stars.

The atmosphere at Nicky’s is very cute 1950’s diner style. They used to split the larger room with a wall that gave it a warmer feel. So I was disappointed to see that was changed. The food isn’t that great. The service is very friendly and attentive.

So it’s 80 degrees and we are traveling through the area and I suggested ice cream. We went to our first pick and it’s closed. Saw this place and tried it — mistake I will not make again. The soft serve was so bland and tasteless, my 10 year old refused to eat it. You know ice cream is bad when a kid won’t eat it on a hot day. She took a few bites, looked at me and said, «I’m good» and tossed the cone. Next time, Giffords.

Food was nice diner food, corn chowder was above average. Lobster roll was good as well.

I’ve been a long time patron of this place dating back to my clubbing nights and hang over mornings. I love the breakfast options they have. No frills, no expensive table cloths or alcohol, but what they do have is great great breakfasts, friendly and happy employees and a fun atmosphere. They also have great sandwiches, burgers, kids options and specials every day. There is nostalgia everywhere you look here. They’ve got suspended from the wall/ceiling old pinball machines, an old photo booth(I don’t think it works) and license plates all throughout for wall décor. There is a lot of space here and even when busy, you can always find a table. That’s pretty nice. Their prices are fairly decent, and you get a lot of it for your money. It’s diner-esque, just the kind you’d want to recover from a hang over(trust me, after you go back to bed for a few after eating here on a Sunday mid-morning — your headache will vanish) During the warmer months, there are take-out windows and also tons of ice cream treats. I’d recommend this spot to anyone. But odds are, it’s a favorite to the locals, so I’d be telling ‘em about stuff they already know.

Bangor has terrible breakfast options. This diner is no exception. I understand that it’s a diner and that my expectations should not be unreasonable but it’s BAD diner food! I can make a better breakfast at home. Very bland. Sub par home fries. And it’s okay if you don’t have real maple syrup(I suppose…), but when your server doesn’t even know what real syrup IS??? Not acceptable. I know I’m not in Vermont anymore but I am in Maine. Get it together Nicky’s. I’m giving two stars because they have milkshakes. I love milkshakes.

Absolutely great diner in Maine! The décor and atmosphere really gives off the feeling of what you expect from a diner. It’s like a flashback to how diners were back in the 60s and 70s. Crazy amount of hanging frames, license plates, jukebox, photo-booth, it’s all there. They have big portions for breakfast/brunch. I had the Chicken Fried Steak and it was pretty darn good. The gravy wasn’t too heavy and didn’t taste like it was smothered in salt, it gave the right amount of moistness to the chicken. The dish also came with 2 eggs, home fries and toast. How can a girl eat this much?! But it was delicious and well worth the price.

Solid grubbin. It is diner food so expect that. Great selection of things to order. The lady friend ordered the Yankee pot roast– said it was amazing and tender. I had a veggie wrap– tasted like vegetables. For dessert here they had a bunch of ice ream stuff. I would rate it higher but it is what it is-diner food. I will say that the experiences I have had here have been amazing. The funky old timey music and the kitschy wall décor are great. The waitstaff and every employe we have had interactions with were accommodating and friendly. I would rate my experiences five stars because the experience is wonderful. Cheers again for the waitstaff and the great vibe.

After a late Saturday night by the campfire this Memorial Day weekend, we arose Sunday morning knowing that there was a hole in our stomachs that only diner food could fill. We headed over to Bangor and turned into Nicky’s Cruisin’ Diner, half expecting to see Guy Fieri pull up next to us in a vintage convertible. It looks straight out of the ‘50s, which– unlike a lot of places where it’s an insult– is what they are going for with a ice cream/burger stand out front, soda fountain in the middle and kitschy dining room in the back, adorned with tributes to Marilyn Monroe, Superman and, of course, Elvis. The food is pretty typical diner fare– breakfast all day, seafood shack specials, burgers and fries, wraps and a few dinner specials(I was tempted to go for the mac ‘n cheese). The coffee was just barely passable. As a non meat-eater that avoids eggs, my decision came down to a short stack of chocolate chip pancakes and a side of home fries or mining the lunch menu. I decided to go with the veggie burger($ 5.95) and swap the accompanying fries and slaw for house-made onion rings. The burger was just a frozen Gardenburger on a crumpled sesame seed bun with American cheese, but it did include guacamole, which was a nice flavor enhancer. The onion rings– a generous portion of battered, clam shack-style loops– were the real star of the show. Our local friends told us they have weekly Cruisin’ Nites, where people show off their vintage whips. I’m not sure if they have waitstaff on roller skates, but it’s really all you would need to make this look like Arnold’s from Happy Days.
