I love this park. Have been taking my pup regularly for a week now and things have been great. Doesn’t seem to matter the time of day, there is always someone to play with. Everyone is respectful and seems to understand when their dog has had enough or might be the rebel rouser. They also don’t seem to mind rather jumpy dogs in the muddy weather either, which is nice considering the current boggy condition of the large dog pen. It’s nice to chat with fellow dog owners, especially those who have a strong understanding of dog behavior which I’ve found to be generally true of the park users, particularly around high volume hours(dinner time and weekends). There are plenty of balls and toys to choose from in the big dog run and most people scoop poop. I hope there are still talks for funding to expand and improve the park. Could be fun to have some more«activities»(tunnels, mounds to climb, etc) for the dogs who are slow to play chase. Overall, this is a great spot for a dog park and I’m really pleased to have it be so close to home!

With the completion of Phase 1 of the Bangor Dog Park, there are already many dogs loving their visit to the park ~ including my own. FYI ~ money is still being raised for Phase 2 which will be expanding the large dog area to twice it’s size and Phase three adding the landscaping, better benches, fire hydrants, etc. To see my photos of the dogs at play(I am addicted to taking photos at the park), go to my blog . Hope to see you there!

I brought my dog here the other day and didn’t get to this now… in that time I have gone to their website and been better informed on the status of this dog park… First, this place is a work in progress. I suggest you check their webiste out. As for the park, it’s big and it’s green… the dog got to run! As of right now, there is no fencing up… it’s one big open park area with no boundries. So if you got a runner, this is not the place to come. I see can see and read that this place has great potential once money is raised… I look forward to coming back and hope that some dog play groups form once fencing is up
