Not sure how Unilocal designates the order of businesses, but how is this place #9 on the list of hotels with so many positive reviews? Not to mention the fact it has the absolute best view of the Pacific Ocean of any other lodging facility in Bandon.(btw… Tripadvisor ranks this place at #1.) The couple checking us in couldn’t be nicer. After they gave us our old school keys, we grabbed our stuff, walked up the flight of stairs, popped open the door and immediately smiled. Kitchenette, flat screen tv, gas fireplace, big comfy bed, not to mention the ocean right outside your deck.(FYI… #24 is the best room with the most privacy.) $ 139 for a night is a total steal. Old town is a very pretty two mile drive. I was concerned about not staying downtown, but in retrospect I’d much rather stay in this more private part of town. Our new«get away» place to stay. Don’t forget to have lunch at the amazing Tony’s Crab Shack in town.

We stayed here for our family vacation over forth of July. Views are amazing! Just as I remember as a little girl coming here with my parents. Staff super friendly rooms are cozy and«home» vibe. The beds are comfortable. We had the family cottage for the week. It was perfect!!! Can’t get any closer to the beach! We named the friendly seagull out our back patio«Herman». Can’t wait to come back!

In a world where most travel experiences are predictable and homogenized, where chain hotels dominate and the banal is peddled as comforting, it is sobering and quickens one’s spirit to find the quirky, especially when the risk taken is rewarded by such a special place such as the Windermere. The foremost advantage the Windermere has is its unsurpassed location right on the Pacific Ocean which allows for exceptional views of the Southern Oregon Coast from every single room. The hotel is made up of a series of small cottages which sit at the top of a bluff; the scene from your deck or balcony is of wild dunes, otherworldly rock formations, the sandy beach, and the blustery Pacific. There are ‘traditional’ and ‘deluxe’ accommodations. Opt for the deluxe if you are staying more than a couple of days. The unit I stayed in was on the second floor, it had a small kitchenette, a king sized bed, a decent sized bathroom, and a balcony with unobstructed, magnificent views. The place is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The furnishings and décor are modest and JCPenny cozy. In one corner there is an electronic faux fireplace which will warm up the space but doesn’t really add any charm. There is television with satellite service and there are two wing back chairs where you can catch up on your reading. The bed is acceptable but it definitely won’t be mistaken for a ‘Heavenly Bed’. The space is not luxurious but it undeniably fits the relaxed vibe of the coast. The caretakers of the property are efficient, helpful and friendly without being intrusive. They get you checked in promptly and your charge card is swiped ahead of time rather than at the end of your stay. If you want suggestions on the town of Bandon or help planning a quick trip to Oregon wine country they will give you their opinion and guidance. If you want to be left alone they will respect your privacy. My stay here was agreeable and I would recommend this place over any chain hotel any day.

This place is quite awesome. The cottages are small and cozy(which I like) and the staff is friendly. The staircase to the upstairs is a little steep but nothing a little stretching can’t fix. The location is absolutely superb. Right along the beach with easy access and some amazing sights and views right out your window. Stay here if you are looking for an amazing experience.
