The gym is really clean and they have classes that are free for students of UMB! I didn’t know how to use some of the work out equipment and one of their staff members, Cole, was super friendly and helpful to me. He was really knowledgeable. Plus, I haven’t gotten any creepy vibes from anyone at this gym(which happens at gyms sometimes!) and thats a huge plus for me. I also take power yoga in the evenings when i can from Irene and I highly recommend her class. She will make you feel like you actually worked out and help you improve your different poses. Who knew I was doing downward dog incorrectly? The pool has different hours than the regular gym does, so if you’re coming for a swim I’d double check to make sure it’s open.

URecFit is easily accessible; located close to the city center, right across from the University of Maryland Hospitals. I have attended this gym for 4 years now and I have to say, I am always impressed by its service and its facilities. The first floor of the gym is comprised of an aerobics room, and an indoor swimming pool. The second floor has a large cardio and weights room, with a spin room that branches off of it. The third floor is comprised of a large basketball court, volleyball/badminton court, another weights area, and squash area. The highest floor has an indoor track, and spin bikes lined along the edges of the track, and stretching areas also along the edge of the track. The facility has lots of windows with sunlight that streams in, creating a happy vibe. I love the variety of workouts that we can do at this gym! They offer classes as well, that are free to students, including zumba /crossfit /turbokick /spin /pilates /yoga /and more! All of the classes last about 1 hour and the instructors and great and fun. They provide all of the equipment that you may need, including yoga mats, towels, etc. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a gym in the inner city.

Today when we went to the gym, Jacob headed for the Basketball couts, and I headed for the weights and cardio area. There is a wide variety of machines, and for your cardio, everything you can imagine. There is also free weights. I chose a bike today, and got a good 30 minutes in. Then I worked out, and went to get the boy for the pool. We changed and checked out the olympic size infiniti pool. Just amazing. Heated, and a lifeguard is always there. I had my Victoria Secret bathing hit on… yeahbitches!!!After the swim, I headed to the hot rock sauna room. I LOVED it. Did a couple sessions in the sauna. so relaxing, can not wait to go back!

A diamond of an athletic club right across the street from UMMC Hospital. The infinity pool beckons you right off the elevator where you show your ID for admission into the rest of the facility. Here, they have something for everyone: machines, free weights, classes, basketball, racquetball and badminton courts, and an elevated 1⁄10th mile walking/jogging/running track. Saunas are in the locker rooms — for shy types, there is a unisex locker room with a private bathroom and shower. We’re looking forward to some serious stress release and FUN — very happy that this is so close to work and home, both of which make it more likely that we’ll stick to our routine. Looking forward, as well, to many check-ins at this beautiful and stellar workout facility.
