Sam Adams for $ 2.50 was the highlight here. Small, a little dingy and with creepers by the bathroom. I was actually told on my way to use the ladies room«hey, there’s another bathroom out back behind the dumpster! want to meet me there?» best. pickup line. ever. oh wait, no, it wasn’t. gross. We happened to come in on a league night, so the tables were free even though there weren’t any open. We snuck in after some folks left and managed to have a nice, inexpensive evening. It actually wouldn’t be a bad local bar to hit, and I wouldn’t object to going back. Rape jokes notwithstanding.

McFadden Art Glass rocks my world. But the food at the Glass Grill is just okay. «Dive bar» is a good description. I had a fantastic time blowing glass with the way talented folks(and their happy doggie!) behind the restaurant. Then just stopped here for lunch. Nothing special, but it hit the spot.

When I walked in, I thought I was in the wrong place after viewing their website. The actual bar/restaurant and the layout of the website definitely don’t match. The Glass Grill is kinda divey, which is not the impression you get from their site. In the end, I like divey places and they had affordable and good food and drinks and I will definitely be back. Their turkey club was enormous and had real turkey on it. I’d like to come back and check out the glass blowing part which I believe may be more in line with their website.

1 star is for the restaurant /bar — not the adjoining McFadden Art Glass, which is awesome. The bar is loud(deafening when there’s a DJ), the waitstaff is inattentive, there’s not enough glass(which is the whole draw), and the food is bad. Go see glass demonstration and then get dinner somewhere else.

In all fairness, I did not go during one of their glass events, so I had a fairly negative experience. I ordered the pasta order, which consisted of penne pasta and a very bland marinara meat sauce. The food is less than mediocre, so I would skip the grill if all you’re looking for is a good meal.

Ohh man this place is cool. Very relaxed atmosphere and the glass décor is pretty neat. The crab dip is REAL strong, which I like, and when it is poured over a bacon cheeseburger… holy shite. Good fries too, I just wish they had a better selection of beers on tap. 3.5 stars.

Had my first deep fried pickle here. Yeah, delicious. It brought me back, and I ate a lot more food the next time round… The crab dip is good, but they really rip you off: it’s served in a bread bowl, but they barely cut out the bread; it’s basically served atop the bread. The burgers and wings are just above average, or the Glass Grill would get 3 stars. And other than the glass blowing, this place doesn’t have that stand-out menu item that would warrant the 5th star! It’s cool to head out back and watch the glass blowing — just take a beer with you ’cause it gets toasty! The people are pretty cool so we keep coming back. I’ll update this review after I go back in a weekend or two.
