Great food. I come here often. Fast service. Nice people. Get Mongolian Beef Combo w/white rice. It’s good.

Disclaimer: I only write a review after visiting a place at least twice. That way I’m not giving a biased view based on one visit. You know that americanized chinese food you crave from time to time? Well this place will hit the spot and more. For starters this is not an authentic chinese restaurant but it doesn’t pretend to be. This is my go-to place for quick, cheap chinese food and for good reason. The portion sizes are huge as expected but it also tastes good! Its light on the sauces which I appreciate and the seasoning is always on point, never too salty or sugary. If you’re looking for recommendations, I like their salt/pepper chicken or squid, chicken and broccoli, vegetable rice noodles, general tso’s chicken and any variety of their fried rice(chicken, beef, seafood). They also have random american options(fries, cheesesteak, etc.) but its a CHINESE restaurant so why anyone would choose that is beyond me.

Our go-to for carry out. The staff is always friendly and the food is tasty. I love the moo goo gai pan and the lo mein. Sometimes they even give you a soda or two for free when you walk in. I’ve never been disappointed.

Family owned business, and they are VERY nice. Usually the husband and wife are working there, six days a week, and some times they have a third person. We went there close to closing, and still we were greeted with a smile and friendly staff. We ordered shrimp egg rolls, spring rolls, and we each got an entrée. I got the seafood combo, and my love got orange chicken. BOTH dishes had great flavor. My seafood special had big pieces of scallops, calamari, crab and medium sized shrimp, all in a tasty sauce. The egg rolls were not greasy, and full of flavor. Subtle shrimp flavor, and the veggies were crunchy for a nice combo. They also have American food, like burgers and fries for those who are not Asian food lovers. Of course even the Chinese food has been modified to appeal to western tastes, but for the price it is wonderful. It is also less than 5 minutes walking from our home. Regardless whether you live here or are visiting, give this place a try! You won’t be disappointed.

Flavors, price, and speed at Sunny’s Carryout is why they ear 5 stars. Now this isnt 100% authentic chinese food. Most of their menu is Americanized, probably to suit the tastes of their customers(most people tend to balk at offal cuts). But it is *seriously tasty* food, with decent sized portions! Plus, unlike the halal carts they cook it up fresh, so you can get your carryout food fresh and hot. I usually walk over and walk out with two dishes within less than 10 minutes for less than $ 6 for lunch. Dishes I enjoy include singapore fried noodles, and their lo mein, their string bean dishes(the beans are green and crisp. Delicious!).

For a inner city Chinese takeout restaurant, this place is pretty good. They have a wide range of dishes including American food(hoagies??). I had the sesame chicken and egg roll. The egg roll was actually delicious but the chicken was not much meat and mostly dark meat scraps with breading. I think If I had tried another more authentic dish it would have been better. The staff is very friendly and the food was ready on time.

This was a great experience. In from out of town. Cashier was sweet and friendly when ordering. Food was hot and fresh and full of authentic flavors usually lacking in a takeout place.(Even after the 10 min walk back to the hotel.) Sauces, cabbage, fried noodles were all very fresh. Spring rolls, excellent. Crab Rangoon, classic. Chicken was very tasty. Portions were good and fairly priced. One of the best takeout experiences of my travels. Will be hitting this up again. Highly recommended.

Don’t let anything physical(location, typical look of the place, etc) fool you. Sunny is one of the best if not the best Chinese carry-outs in Maryland. The food is very light in taste and texture(excludes the taste of unhealthiness), doesn’t weigh you down. My wife works in Baltimore and purchased dinner for us; very impressive.

Love this place. the best Chinese food I have found in the city. I usually get the hot and spicy chicken but the beef lo mein is great as well. Sunny’s never disappoints. Try the cheese steak eggroll!!! Yum! The only negative I can say is that they DONOT deliver.

100% fresh chinese food. Ordered the very american general tso chicken and really enjoyed it. Big portions too which went well when i shared it with my coworker(he forgot his lunch). This will be my go to chinese food for the time that i am working in Baltimore.

Hands down the best Chinese food I have had in Baltimore. The cheesteak eggrolls are a must try if you have never had them before and you don’t mind the fried juicy goodness of good food :-)

I used to go here all the time when I lived in the neighborhood. I moved 18 months ago, and hadn’t been in all that time. After having some bad Broccoli in Garlic Sauce at another restaurant, I decided to make the trek to Sunny’s for their superior take on the dish. It wasn’t until I picked it up that I saw that it’s under new management and Broccoli in Garlic Sauce isn’t even on the menu. I was pleased thay they made it for me anyway, and hurried home to eat it. As soon as I opened it I noticed a difference — the broccoli was dull green and limp unstead of bright green an a tad crunchy. I hoped that the sauce would be the same, but it was thin with only a bit of sweetness and the garlic wasn’t very pungent. I would consider going back to see if, perhaps, this was an aberration, but I fear it isn’t and that would be a shame.

There aren’t many convenient Chinese restaurants near the Inner Harbor. This was a pleasant find. I walked to the location, placed my order with a very pleasant woman at the counter and had my food packaged to go in less than 10 minutes. The food was excellent, stayed hot in transit and was plentiful. Great value for anyone staying in the Camden Yard area.

Easily the best CARRYOUT Chinese food in the city. There are a couple sit down ones that are more authentic, but keep in mind where you are and what you’re paying. Sunny recently went thru some so far so good management changes. As a carry out place, the food is very moderately priced and you absolutely get your monies worth no matter what you order. American food is on the menu for the dummies who go to Chinese restaurants for those things. Never had any, so couldn’t say how it is! I have been to Hong Kong and Chinese is something i sometimes grossly consume so I know a little at least about the authenticity of the food. That being said, Sunny blows everyone else away from a taste, look, and feel perspective. Sure to enlighten your senses of what Chinese food should taste like.

Love this place. The staff is nice, and introduced me to mei fun which is my new favorite thing to order. Whenever my roommate goes by and asks if he can pick anything up for me, I have to request the cheesesteak egg roll. I had never heard of such a thing until a year ago, but my life is better for it. They don’t deliver, but lets be honest, I should get my lazy butt up and walk. If you can’t walk there, there is no problem finding parking out front at the meters(which are free after six and weekends). I’ve eaten a lot of Americanized Chinese food over my lifetime, and this is just as good as all of my favorite places to go. I was super delighted when I went in around November last year and they gave me a free pretty Chinese scroll calendar with my order! Then again, perhaps I’m easily amused :)

Yeah man, this is what it’s all about. Something to fill in the food desert of West Baltimore. Although it’s not delivery, as other people said you can call ahead and have your order waiting for you. Don’t let the curtness of the woman who runs the counter scare you when you place an order over the phone, she’s very sweet. Usually I grab the General Tso’s Tofu or the Kung Pao Tofu. I’ve gotten Lo Mein and vegetable fried rice as well. They’ll charge 30 cents to your credit card if you pay for an order that is less than $ 10.00

I understand that people want to patronize our neighborhood businesses, but to give this place 5 stars and compare it as one of the best Chinese carryouts around here after living in NYC? Hmm. If there ARE simply no good Chinese restaurants around the city – we need to come to terms with it. However, after a painful hunt by trial and error, there is Zhongshan Chinese Restaurant on Park Ave and that I’ve found quite decent. Probably the«best» in the city I’ve had personally. This is from a Chinese person. Based on my first visit today, I would rank Sunny Chinese Food as quite average. I was housebound from being sick(so my appetite should be ravenous after not eating much all day) and gave it a try. Ordered the moo goo gai pan(chicken and mixed veggies in white sauce) and veggie & tofu soup. –they called me back when food was ready for pickup(no more delivery, even within a mile) which was GOOD. Never had a place do that before. –soup: broccoli, cabbage, mushroom, and firm tofu in a clear, yellowish broth. More bland than I expected(this is coming from someone who has a palate for bland food!) and while I appreciate how they were generous with the proportion of veggies to soup, I would still say it’s: ok. –moo goo: it was OK, maybe I’m spoiled but I was like, where are the baby corn and straw mushrooms? They did have a lot of white cabbage stem, which I personally don’t like. The white/clear sauce was thick with corn starch. The chicken was white meat but tasted sort of like fake meat. –fried rice: came with the moo goo, and was good. Standard egg and peas/carrot/string bean mix veggies. The rice was al dente ever so slightly. –egg roll: full of shredded cabbage and shrimp that was larger than the usual mini prawns – that’s a plus for ppl who like shrimp. It wasn’t deveined though. Overall, I might give them another try on a desperate day. But with Zhongshan not too far away and Chopstixxx in Elkridge, I have options. I hope Sunny’s will get better though, or develop a special authentic/regional menu. I’d be curious if the cooks who are Chinese, might want to try out their regional specialties – something that I think would really draw people if done well.

With the«grew up in the DC Metro Area» thing going on with me, you’d think I have a ton of experience with fantastic Chinese food. You’d be wrong; there are several excellent places in DC, but most take-away places are slop shops that leave everything in a pile of oil, leaving me sad(and feeling slightly ooky.) Sunny Carry Out makes me happy. Their ingredients are fresh, the dishes tasty(and hey, the Kung Pao Chicken actually has a nice bit of spice!) and the fried rice is light and definitely not greasy(it even re-heats nicely the next day). As the name suggests, this is a carryout/take-away place, not a delivery joint. But you can call ahead and have it waiting for you when you arrive, though you may have to wait a minute or two if you get there super-fast, as they make everything to order. Sunny has a really good lunch meal deal, where less than $ 6 will get you a big entrée serving, white or fried rice & a soda. Not to shabby! And they’ll remind you to grab a soda from their freestanding drink cooler if you forget, which is nice. If you’re super hungry and need to eat N.O.W. there are a few two-person tables, but isn’t the best part of ordering take-away Chinese food getting home and eating it in front of the tv? Yeah it is. I’ll be eating more Sunny Carry Out in front of my tv, that’s for sure. Tip: if, like me, you’re a huge fan of duck sauce and chopsticks with your meal? Make sure you ask for ‘em, as orders come with soy sauce & a fork. I’d guess that you get duck sauce if you order an eggroll, but since I haven’t gotten past their entrée section yet I’m not sure on that.
