I walked in to a packed house. I thought to myself, man. this place must be amazing. Oh wait, they only have 4 tops. Each table and booth had one person each. I took a seat at the bar facing the window. I was amazed how long it took for my order to arrive. The portions were meager for the price. 2 small slivers of beef and 2 strands of tripe in a small. The amount of sprouts and jalapenos were perfect though. Broth was bland AF.

Finally a nice sit-down Vietnamese place in Baltimore! The best phở I’ve had here up to now was Mekong Delta in Charles Street Plaza. Mekong is good, but their beef broth is slightly off(sweeter?) from the more authentic phở I grew up with. In contrast, Phở Viet’s soup is spot on! I had the combo phở(steak, flank, tripe, tendon). Plus there’s actually a place to sit, the wait is shorter during the work week, and the atmosphere is more chill than the hectic food court that Mekong is in. The downside is that the portions are smaller at Phở Viet. Don’t get me wrong. Love Mekong Delta! But when I want to have nice sit down phở, I’ll go to Phở Viet. Tip: it’s in a busy part of town, with no parking. I’d Über or take the free Circulator.

Really enjoy the Phở from here. Egg rolls and the spring rolls are also never bad. Thy get busy at lunch can during the week, they could be bigger and they would probably still be full. The difference in this Phở place from others is they are the quickest at getting your food out to the table. This paragraph begins my experience for my last time there. Unfortunately the other five or six times that I have gone in the past two months were outstanding as mentioned above. Today the broth did not taste like it normally does and the noodles did not taste like they normally do. Three of my other coworker stated the same thing and one is what I would consider a Phở expert. Also my eggroll appetizer came out really quick and was literally right above refrigerator temperature so this was definitely the first day that I’ve seen them this way. I’m only giving them three stars right now because obviously I’m remembering the last time I ate there which was not a good experience. If today was like any other day they would have gotten four and a half stars if I could do it. I’m definitely going to give them another chance but it’s like they were offended because I said it didn’t taste like it normally does. I hope it’s not the all too common thing that when a place starts out they are great but once they established and get comfortable their quality goes downhill. If a whole table of people says it doesn’t taste like it normally does and we go there often, one to maybe two times a week, Play shouldn’t take it to heart and they should say yeah you know we tried something new or we ran out of an ingredient but don’t sit there and act like were being rude. I do notice that when they have a full restaurant which it’s not very big to begin with, they really start to slip up and can’t handle a full house, which I know from experience that it’s not easy in a restaurant setting when it’s full. But this is what Unilocal is for, I’m not saying they’re bad, I’m definitely going to return and give them another shot. Like I said, I’ve been there way too many times and had great food for one time to really do it in. If next time it is the same, this place definitely will not be on my list of places to eat anymore which is unfortunate because they started out so strong. Here’s to hoping that it was an off day.

I ordered a large chicken phở & it was terrible. The broth was so bland, the pieces of chicken were also bland &DRY. It’s pretty impressive how chicken in broth can be dry, but they definitely achieved it. I tried some of my boyfriend’s beef broth and it was also bland, granted it had more flavor than the chicken phở… but that’s not hard to achieve. The phở toppings were also below average. Our waitress brought out 1 plate of maybe a cup of bean-sprouts, old basil leaves(the leaves were limp & no strong basil scent), old limes(flesh weren’t shiny as they should be when freshly cut), & old sliced jalapenos(wrinkly skins). I was thinking maybe this was a joke, a cup of bean-sprouts for 2 people? Everywhere I’ve been, all the toppings were piled high &FRESH. I couldn’t squeeze any lime juice out because they were old & hard, disgusting. I ended up having to douse my phở with hoisin sauce & Sriracha to taste anything. I’m disappointed to have tried a new phở place(in Baltimore), only for it to be the worst phở I’ve ever had. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the phở I’ve had from other states and/or having homemade phở from my Vietnamese college friend, but regardless, ‘Phở Viet’ needs to step up its game. Also, while $ 7.50-$ 8.50 for phở isn’t expensive, when I order a large bowl of phở, I expect a large! Not a regular bowl that isn’t even filled fully. The bowls are shaped like a giant funnel in a way, so since it’s not even filled fully– it’s probably even less than a regular size at other phở restaurants! They charge what is normal prices for phở in Baltimore, yet the serving sizes are way below average. I’m never coming here again. ‘Phở Viet’ may be new, but it’s not good. They skimp on their phở toppings, don’t have fresh ingredients, and need to learn how to make actual phở.

For the price and the portions this a great no frills lunch spot! Call ahead and they will pack up your phở ingredients separately(doesn’t get mushy) for take out. I prefer taking it out anyway. Great vegetarian phở when I had it for take out and seasoned it myself.

Great authentic phở place in Baltimore city that accepts credit cards! Broth is flavorful and yummy. The restaurant is within walking distance, they are fast and friendly, and the 20% off for check in is nice. I wish they had a bit more variety(rice and vermicelli plate/bowls) and their spring rolls could use a little more oomph, but over all, this is a great option to satisfy my phở cravings!

I really liked this phở! My family and I went for my sister’s birthday. A first, the area seemed a little off the beaten path, but once I walked in, the restaurant seemed safe and inviting. They had a nice table for us and we tried the summer roll for an appetizer, which was really fresh and had a nice peanut dipping sauce. I got the number 4 large and I thought the meat was tasty and the portion was big! My sister is a phở snob and even she liked it! I will be back for sure!

I was so excited to try this place as it’s not even a block from my office. From the time I sat down it’s wasn’t 5 to 7 minutes when I had my bowl of Phở. Very very fast. The broth was flavorful. I didn’t like the tendon it had way too much grizzle for my taste. Service was on par with other Vietnamese restaurants around town. I will be going back again. Great location!

I had #1 large combo phở and fresh spring rolls. The phở is 4 stars and the spring rolls is 3. The place is new & clean, service is good(4*). Phở soup is a bit bland, wish it’s a bit more flavorful. I had to add the Sriracha & that brown sauce. Not too salty which is good. Fresh spring rolls was presented nicely on a tray, but they are a bit dry to me, wish it was made fresh to the order. The spring roll sauce is better than Delta Mekong. Overall, I am pleased to have more than one Vietnamese food to choose from in the Baltimore downtown area. I will be back!

I liked the phở here, but the service that I received was a bit slow. We did not get much attention — with refilling of water, with getting the check, with the server taking our credit card. Perhaps they were just starting to warm up as I had gone on one of the first days that it opened. Will have to return to try it again.

Best phở I’ve had since I moved here a year and a half ago. A clean interior only adds to the rich depth of flavor in their broth. The Vietnamese coffee is deliciously rich, highly recommend.

Probably the best phở IN baltimore city. Interior is on the fancier end for a vietnamese restaurant. Service is pretty standard. Price is pretty typical for phở(actually, pricing was, it’s probably best within the city as well.) Broth is very clean and refershing and tastes like the real deal. They’re quite generous with the meat portions. Their spring rolls are pretty good– sauce is excellent. Of note, they do NOT have vermecilli or vietnamese rice dishes. It would be cool for them to expand their menu to these things… I would think they would do very well. Anyways, a great place to satisfy your phở craving within baltimore. I would probably say that this is the best within the city. Highly recommend it!

So excited that there’s an authentic Vietnamese restaurant downtown!(although I think they were playing Korean music in the background). Ordered 2 Phở Dat Biet and Summer Rolls Goi Coun. I liked that I could order in Vietnamese. The broth was very clear, clean and not a lot of oil. The tendon was a little hard but it’s probably due to how late we ordered(half an hour before closing). The summer rolls were small but tasty. The sauce was a little more watered down than what I’m used to but tasted just as good. All in all, we’re probably going to be ordering once a week!

This is the real deal. So good Phở sho. ;) I ordered the veggie egg rolls(delicious) and because the(extremely courteous) waitress said it was her favorite, I also ordered the rare steak Phở. She steered me right. Seemingly endless amounts of Bánh Phở noodles in one of the tastiest Phở broth’s I’ve ever had, shaved beef on top. The usual Suspects for additives — Fresh stem of basil, fresh crunchy bean sprouts, lime wedges, and freshly sliced jalapeños. Liberally charged with the Sriracha and chili paste on the table, it was a dish fit for a king. Best part, the total bill came to $ 13.78… $ 13.78!!! Best deal my entire trip to Baltimore. Restaurant was quiet and clean. Order the small size Phở or plan to take some home — this bowl will feed a family. Overall excellent experience.

Outside looks local traditional food joint but inside is pretty fancy. It was decent. The soup was little sweet for me but still pretty tasty. Quick service though maybe because today was a day after Thanksgiving. I could probably walk from work which is plus.

45° weather, a 20% off check-in offer and hungry tummies — all signs pointed to Phở. Eager to check out a new restaurant my SO and I walked past the unlit decorations of Mercy Holiday Gardens towards the beckoning neon glow of «Phở Viet.» We were warmly greeted, quickly seated and handed our menus. The interior is softly lit; a natural color pallet with pastel accents and a modest décor. We ordered the vegetarian spring rolls, brisket phở and vegetarian phở. The hostess come waitress brought our appetizer within minutes and the soups soon after. The beansprout and other accompaniments(lime, chilis and thai basil) were very fresh — the basil was particularly fragrant. Spring Rolls: 4⁄5 Well wrapped, evenly filled, balanced dipping sauce, well presented and the pickled daikon/carrot added a welcomed acidity. Brisket Phở: 4⁄5 In her words, tender, flavorful, filling and without an unctuous finish. Vegetarian Phở: 3.5÷5 Clean and clear broth, crisp broccoli, tender mushrooms and an ample portion for a large. I found the noodles to be slightly overdone and the carrots were borderline purée. I was told the chef leaves them in the broth overnight. I understand wanting to impart flavor — in that regard they succeeded admirably — but mushy carrots are simply unpleasant. That being said, the broth, other veggies, fresh herbs and a dollop of sriracha made for a satisfying meal. The Final Verdict: 4⁄5 Fast, friendly service, pleasant atmosphere, and above average phở. Our only beef was the uncomfortable booth — plywood painted a creamy mint. Cushions or padding would have gone a long way to improving the dining experience.

4 stars. A great find for phở near inner harbor. My wife and I came here for lunch after hearing good things from a friend. Coming from California originally, we really appreciated having a place that serves good phở and have been looking for somewhere close to home. We tried places nearby and found Phở Viet to be the best. Food: We ordered the special combo #1 phở and the steak and tendon #5 phở. The broth itself had good flavor and was not too oily or sweet(unlike Mekong Delta nearby). Noodles were cooked nicely as well. All the standard accompaniments(sprouts, chilies, basil, lime) were there as well. However, the portions of meat were on the smaller side. Additionally, I would have appreciated if the broth was hotter since a few pieces of my rare steak did not fully cook in the soup. Overall, the phở is really good for Baltimore, but is average compared to the phos I’ve had in California. Service: Service was friendly and efficient. Our food arrived very fast. By coincidence our friend showed up as we were about to pay, and the waiter offered to move us to a new table so we could join them which was a nice gesture. Price: Great value. 2 bowls of regular phở came out to ~$ 12.50 with the 20% Unilocal check-in offer, which is a good deal. The price justifies the smaller sizes of their regular bowls. Large bowls were only $ 1 more and looked like a lot more food(based on looking at other people’s bowls). Overall: A solid phở place in a convenient location to inner harbor, downtown, and Mt. Vernon. The meat portions and broth temperature held me back form giving them 5 stars, but Phở Viet earns a solid 4 stars. We will be coming back.

What a great phở place right on St. Paul Street. The outside looks like an older style restaurant. I pushed past that and went inside to a bright, clean and modern environment. The only seat available was at the counter. It was great. The phở was wonderfully and delicately flavored. The food was hot fresh and delicious. I’m so happy I walked in today. I will be back.

Looks small but surprisingly can seat a lot of people. Clean and cute interior. Boyf and I split the Vegetarian Spring Rolls and large Vegetarian Phở. Both were delicious. Phở is a generous serving, peanut sauce was perfect and spicy. I was very impressed with the soup base. Our server was very sweet and helpful. Service is fast. Will definitely be back!

New restaurant in downtown Baltimore. In a very convenient location. Service is good; food is good. It’s a solid standard phở.(They have two sizes for phở) The best viet food I’ve had is still in Chicago, but this place is pretty good. I plan to return when I’m in the area next.
