Awesome owners. Great pieces. On the high end for Hampden but everything is top quality and in perfect condition. I found an amazing mid-century living room set for my moms basement here, I wish I’d have been able to keep it for myself.

If you love mid-century furniture and art you will really enjoy taking a stroll through Paradiso. Make sure you go upstairs where the vast majority of the furniture is located. The furniture is so comfortable to sit in and so beautifully displayed. Everything is in meticulous condition and the prices are right for such quality furniture. This makes Paradiso my favorite place to visit when I’m on «The Avenue!»

A little pricey but this is a neat little store nevertheless. I have my «secret» store back in my neck of the woods with great prices but if you’re walking around Hampden you ought to poke your head into this store at least once. It’s well arranged and the flow is good so unlike other vintage stores it doesn’t get congested and the stuff is pretty legit(no junk).

This is one of my favorite stores in Hampden and I always look forward to seeing what’s new here. The owners have created a well-designed«showcase» for the furniture, artwork, jewelry, and other miscellaneous items for the home that they sell, so it’s always fun to visit. They manage to find cool antiques(a mix of different eras from late 19th to mid-century modern) in good shape and their prices – while not particularly cheap – are certainly reasonable. If I lived in Baltimore I’d definitely come here more often.

We’ve shopped at Paradiso frequently since moving to the area in 2010, and now have a wide variety of pieces in our home. The owners have a great ability to find unique and interesting pieces, from a «waterfall» glass cocktail table to a Mies van der Rohe designed daybed in black leather to a set of Adrian Pearsall«jacks» end tables to a …(you get the idea). Their prices are more than fair, and they tend only to sell antique pieces in the best condition — no «junque» here. Sharona has a great eye for jewelry, art, and textiles so there’s always interesting special pieces throughout the store — some local, some not; all eye-catching and original. They change their stock frequently, and have lots of neat holiday items and fun little gifts at this time of year. Plus they have THEVERYBEST holiday window display on the Avenue this year!

Paradiso is a Hamden icon. Their selection is diverse never knowing what treat you will uncover. I enjoy this shop for all of my holiday gifts. A bonus to shopping here is the wonderful service provided by the owners.

To be honest, I accidentally checked in here on the app and I’m writing a review so it will go away on my Unilocal homepage. I *did* however go into this shop around the holidays. I remember it being clean, expensive, and pretentious. This is a place for ‘established people’ with ‘established homes’ to purchase beautiful things they don’t need. I actually was interested in a nice piece of jewlery for my mom, but the staff generally avoided me. Moral of the story? If you’re a wealthy décor lover, please shop at this local business! If not: Peruse here for ideas, then up-cycle antique/vintage/thrift finds from elsewhere on the avenue!

They have the most unqiue items in Hampden. The owners are very nice and have an eye for stocking their shop with conversational pieces. I bought a lamp from a former Saturn worker, now artist, who built a lamp out of a saturn engine crankshaft, mounted on a brake rotor with a stick shift knob as the lamp shade cover. Where are you going to find another one like that?

A wonderful selection of unique furniture items, including current stock of glass top pinball machine coffee tables with chrome legs. Other items include rotating stock of Danish mid century modern offerings, such as tables and chairs, all, on this visit, in very nice condition. Other items include artwork and creations by local artists as well as other small batch work by artisans not typically found at similar«artique» shops. The staff is friendly and very helpful, a great plus in the Hamden neighborhood.

Probably the classiest antique store in Hampden. There’s less stuff crammed in their two-story, but narrow, storefront than other antique stores on the Avenue, and that’s a good thing. It makes me imagine that my house, too, could be as lovely and uncluttered. They seem to specialize in Danish Modern, but they have a variety of well-chosen, quality offerings of other styles in excellent condition. The prices may seem high, but compare to similar new items from Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel, and you’ll realize they offer a great deal. They do have some neat designer jewelry in the front case too. Local delivery was $ 40. Service is very pleasant.
