We found Mahriah on Craigslist(should have been the first warning I know) as we were looking for a cleaning ‘person’ rather than service. She was extremely responsive to emails and seemed to really understand our specific needs. We decided on a deep clean for $ 130. We knew this was the price of more established, reputable cleaning companies but being a small business owner myself, I wanted to give her a chance. Mahriah showed up on time and was very friendly. Within 3 hours, she had ‘deep’ cleaned the entire house. In her defense, before she left she asked us if there was anything that we needed fixed, we told her under the toilets were still dirty and that the rooms did not appear neatly vacuumed. She corrected those errors and was paid. Apparently we should have done a more ‘in-depth” inspection of her work. Mahriah left dirty dishes in the sink, did not clean the microwave, left dusty fans, left dog hair unvacuumed around the corners of the room, did not dust the bottom shelves of coffee tables and did not wipe down the walls well. As we looked around over the next day there SO much detail missing that we were appalled. I use a regular cleaning service for my house in DC and I have NEVER seen a place need so much touch-up after the cleaning service leaves. We attempted to talk to her about our concerns 2 days later and she was extremely defensive citing that she asked us if anything was wrong. I guess as customers, we did not know we had to inspect her work so thoroughly for it to be done properly… we kinda trusted her to do a good job. At the end of the call, Mahriah told us she would take a little time to find some way to compensate us for our displeasure. It has been almost 2 weeks and we have not heard a word back from her. I really like to support small business but there has to be a quality product. I only give her 2 stars because she was extremely easy to get in contact with but as an overall assessment, I would encourage you to take your business elsewhere.
