By far the best Irish bar in Baltimore thats a great gem over in Locust Point. You wouldn’t know it from the outside(no windows), but good people inside. Live Irish music on weekends(and seemingly during some days of the week too). We insist on taking all of our out of town guests there to experience the place(and get a great poured Guinness or black and tan). Also, as another reviewer said, the Irish coffee will make you feel really good. I think its worth coming out to Locust Point from Downtown if you’re visiting(there’s a circulator stop a block away). Oh, and the food I’ve had there(namely the sweet potato fries) we’re good.

Get the seafood mac ‘n cheese! Sorry, just had to blurt that out. I’ve travelled rather large distances(i.e. Ohio) basically just to eat one of my favorite comfort foods and it turns out this local spot has one of the best takes on it I’ve ever had. It’s homemade and contains crab, shrimp, lobster, and scallops. Almost soup-like with all of it’s melted cheese deliciousness. Have only had a few other pub staples like chicken fingers, fried fish, and fries(or «chips» if you want to be more officially Irish), all of which are fine, but it’s the seafood mac n’ cheese that I’ll continue to delight my mouth with in future visits to J. Patrick’s.

Love this pub! I first came here after a visit to Ft. McHenry and fell in love. The owners are great and easy to talk to. I asked about the Australian Aboriginal flag next to me at the bar and the bartender told me the story of how it got there and what the Northern Irish have in common with the Aborigines. Burger was decent. Had their signature Irish coffee drink after and felt good… Really good. There’s no windows in this place and it looks like it’s been here forever. I stop over here whenever I’m in Locust Pt.

As for an Irish Pub, 4 stars. Friendly staff, great local feel. As for food, one star. Got dinner tonight. Took 45 minutes for take-out. Steak n cheese was tasteless, shepherds pie was dry, mac n cheese was dry and burnt, the gravy on our fries was burnt, crab soup was watery, and now my stomach is broken. I’ll go back for a beer but I’ll smuggle my own snacks in ala the movies. Hmmph…

The reviews on Unilocal spoke of «friendly staff». That was a huge understatement. These are give-you-the-shirt-off-their-back type people. The bartender told me a story of how he once fished through garbage for almost ½ hour to find a license a guy accidentally left at the bar and stuffed into a cigarette pack. Beyond just nice. Truly friendly people. The clientele are also just your average run-of-the-mill good people. The beer’s not expensive and… live Irish music? An impromptu Irish music trio formed right next to our table and played, giving us a front row seat. This place is definitely a good call if you’re in Baltimore and want a nice Irish pub.

My first trip to an Irish pub in Baltimore and I loved it! I talked to the owner about all the college pennants hanging on the walls. He told me how the University of Washington(my hubby’s and my alma mater) ended up being represented. I drank a Harp. I listened to great music. I will definitely go back to this place and take my visiting friends there.

This place is located right next to the new Silo Point Condominiums. There are no windows to the place so I was a bit suspicous but went in last night and was pleasantly surprised. Sure it could use some sprucing up but this is definitely an Irish bar. Irish music on the weekends and some nights of the week. Irish dancing classes on Wednesday nights. Really nice people. Good selection of Irish and English beers on tap. Had the shrimp salad sandwich that was on special. Cost $ 6.60 and was piled high with shrimp. Definitely worth checking this place out. Beers are $ 4.50. If I wasn’t moving soon, I would have liked to become a regular here.
