Very cool place to grab a drink while waiting for a table at the restaurant next door. Harry is a great host. The Irish Coffee is awesome!

Great neighborhood bar. Limited by decent beers on tap and awesome bar food — wing zings and shrimp! The juke box plays a steady stream of 70s music even with an Os game on TV. Also any bar with a pool table gets an extra star.

I started to come here after hearing that it was a favorite place of a dear friend(Joe K) that had recently passed away. This is by far one of my favorite places to go, have a drink, and just relax. The bartenders are attentive and friendly, the food is inexpensive and tasty(my favorite is the philly cheesesteak), and the owner is always there to thank us for coming in. This is nice neighborhood bar with honest and real people. They do not take their customers for granted.

If you want a homey feel, a nice little neighborhood corner bar where you can have a cold beer and catch up with your friends… American Harry’s is your place! I recently noted they were voted best Dive Bar in Baltimore… AWESOME!!!

Harry’s American is an old school, working class, corner, Balmer dive bar where the Natty Boh is always cold, the drinks are always strong and cheap, the O’s are always on the t.v. during baseball season, and the crowd of mostly older locals are always friendly. Inside Harry’s you’ll find everything you would expect in a good dive bar… A working jukebox, a keno machine, television, neon beer signs, and a surprisingly good crab cake on the menu. Look up and you’ll also see an intricately stamped, painted, tin ceiling that’s probably been there since time immemorial Like many of the other establishments in Balmer’s dive bar hit parade, cash is king at Harry’s, but there’s an ATM tucked away in the corner, so no worries on paying your tab if you only show up with plastic in your wallet.

Great local bar! I was told the crab cakes were some of the best in B’more from 2 different families when I was traveling along the west coast. Now, after 2 visits 6 months apart, I can confirm they are not only consistent, they are amazing. The cream of crab soup is also VERY good! Cash only.

Popped into this place with friends on a relatively random Thursday night. Thus, in the spirit of randomness, consider these random notes in no particular order: — This place is cash only. So unless you want to use that sticky little ATM in the corner by the door, bring some dollar bills. — I’d comment on the price of the booze, but can’t cause I let my friends pick up the tab. See random point above. — I «hear» the crab cakes are amazing. — You can buy a bag of chips with pocket change — The women’s bathroom might eat you alive. And by eat you alive, I mean it’s really small. — Pool table, y’all. — Clientele is chill. You should be too.

By far the cheapest drinks in Canton, and they don’t water down their drinks just cause you’re paying less. Good staff and cheap food as well. Always a good place to start a fun night.

A local dive bar, definitely worth the visit. The menu is reasonably priced — actually, it’s dirt cheap. Burgers are always $ 5 and most of the menu is under $ 10. Plus — a Yuengling is only $ 1.75! Stop on in, play some pool, chat with the friendly bar man, and just have a good time — you’re at Harry’s!

I wish I lived closer to this place. The wings are different from all the soggy ones you get everywhere else. The prices are incredible. I try to go here once a week but I don’t want to get burned out.

I’ve been here a few times now and this place is A-OK. Good size bar, decent tv’s for the O’s game, pool table and probably as many video poker machines as bar stools. Older crowd and local. Everything is chill and cheap. This is your uncle’s dive bar. I wouldn’t bring half of my friends here but those are the half that I wouldn’t take to my neighborhood dive in the first place.

Yeah, I like this place. It’s a neighborhood corner dive bar in Canton, and a great place to throw back a few. I try to dip my head in here whenever I am in town. I think I first discovered this place back in 2002 on a stumble back from a concert down on the Waterfront. Hazy memories of Natty Boh, some really cheap whiskey shots, and bar staff that had every reason to throw my buddy and I out, but didn’t, are all I can recall from my first experience here. Been back a few times, and have dug it.

I live a few blocks away from Harry’s Bar and I don’t know why I didn’t enjoy this place more often before! Seriously, Harry’s bar may look«plain» outside, but it is a super chill bar with good food, cheap drinks and friendly older folks. The drinks are really really reasonable — most cocktails are like $ 4 when it is $ 8 elsewhere and beers are like $ 3 – 4. The bartenders also pour their alcohol abundantly and you get your money’s worth for sure! A lady named Natalie owns the place and she is really chill & easy going as well. There are some older folks but nobody minds nobody nor the way anybody dresses — just casual. Don’t let it’s outer appearance shy you away, just go, sit, have a drink and watch a game! :)
