Good place for drinks, comfortable local spot, didn’t try the food but was clean and would have no problem dining here

Stopped in for Friday(New Year’s Day) lunch. Two of us had the homemade meatball sub which was very good. Another had their key west sandwich which was turkey, cheese, cole slaw on toast and she loved it. Another had french onion soup and flat bread and she said it was very good. All 4 of us rated our lunch as 4 stars. Waitress/bartender was VERY nice. Would go back here again.

In town visiting daughter over Christmas. She loves it so took us for Saturday brunch. Very clean and bright. Even though it was day after Christmas, it was 70 degrees so doors were open. Waitress was very nice and owner chatted and was very pleasant. All food cooked to order and tasty. Fireball french toast had strong cinnamon flavor, which I like. Omelettes and pancakes very good, also. Oh, did I mention the bottomless mimosas?

Cockey’s is solid. It has a good beer rotation, and the workers are all nice people. The food has more to be desired; HOWEVER, for the cost, the food is excellent. The prices are VERYVERY reasonable. There is outdoor seating to boot, but I don’t recommend sitting out there too long due to mosquitoes. I recommend that Cockey’s get rid of that dog bowl with the mosquito larvae growing inside(and whatever else might help breed them).

Great place to go for drinks at pretty much any time of day! It has a low-key, neighborhoody, post-dive type of vibe to it. Plus, the owner is a fantastic member of the neighborhood and regularly supports the local elementary schools and the neighborhood associations. Happy to have this place on the block!

Great neighborhood bar! They have a great draft list, unique mule flavors(a summer favorite) and fresh fruit crushes(I recommend the grapefruit and orange!). For the food, I think their strengths are in their entrees and sandwiches. Their crab cake special was delicious and meaty and came in a generous portion for under $ 10. My sister did not want the side it came with so they gave her numerous sides to pick from(you won’t get that attention in a chain restaurant). I’ve had a few of the sandwiches, including the meatball sub and key west sandwich, and have been pleased. The wings are also very tasty and meaty. The french onion soup is great on a chilly day. I think their pizza has gone downhill in the last six months. They changed crusts(to frozen?) and I am no longer a fan. It used to be thin and crispy, how I like it. However the sausage and meatball toppings spice up an otherwise pretty bland pizza. I love the Baltimore décor and the outdoor seating with heaters. The service is great. I think because the bar is small, it can get packed quickly and the servers become a little swamped. They are always friendly and offer great drink recommendations! If you’re in the neighborhood you should check it out!

This seems like a nice local bar, and the prices are very reasonable, but in my experience the food was pretty bad. Granted, I got the prime rib special and my friend got the fish, which was probably a bad idea, but even so it was pretty flavorless. I came back to this bar a second time to try the pizza, figuring they couldn’t screw it up, and they totally forgot my food order! This was pretty pathetic, since the place was mostly empty. The bartender was too busy chatting with his friends, so we didn’t get much in the way of service, although service was rather good on my first visit. All in all, I have had inconsistent service and poor food. Maybe I will give it one more try, but probably not.

So I really really wanted to like this place. I live in the area and always welcome another location to eat. That being said, we went the other night on steak night and had quite possibly the worst piece of meat i’ve ever had. Grey all the way through including the outside despite ordering medium rare. I sent it back(again, I know that is rude but I couldn’t eat that) and got the same thing right back! That time I ate about half because I felt bad and promptly left. All the potential in the world here with a great location, but definitely make sure you are aware who is back in your kitchen. I will give it another shot one night so hopefully things improve QUICK!

This place is awesome! Small, causal, and a great little neighborhood bar. The owner Bob is frequently in here and is a great guy and an asset to the neighborhood. They have a wide variety of wine and beers in bottles as well as a number of delicious craft beers on tap. They also offer carry out wine and beer. The food is ok, but I’d mostly stick to drinking. Overall I highly recommend! I cannot wait until they open the second location in my neighborhood, Butchers Hill.

Review for beer and ambiance only – had a drink with a friend last night in the hood. This is such a neighborhood spot, there was a guy doing work on his laptop to a family with a kid come in to eat dinner to a group of couples coming here on presumably date night. GREAT beer selection for a local bar – they had the usual Resurrection and Full Tilt, but also Southern Tilt and Oliver Ales. Good time with good brews!

Excellent, very quiet neighborhood bar. Clean with a great beer selection and really good food. Highly recommend the Garlic Shrimp Toast or the meatballs. If you live a Fells and want to avoid the crowds or some annoying event(like a say an ugly sweater bar crawl) this is the place I recommend you go. Close by yet free of college kids and tourists.

This is one of the best neighborhood bars around. You know the whole«Cheers» everyone knows your name cliché? That’s Cockey’s. Bob is an awesome owner and has done an amazing job with the corner on which his property sits. He supports the neighborhood, schools and does a ton of fundraising as well. And he’s not a bad cook to boot!

Great local bar to sit and drink outside, but food is hit or miss. I will start by saying I am in LOVE with the french dip sandwich, absolutely delicious and I cannot wait to get this again, very safe and delicious option. The wings and flatbread pizzas however, were undercooked and they were just average in taste. No frills there. There is no fryer at this restaurant! So no french fries or any other kind of fried food. I am a fries girl, so this made me sad, but it is better for you that you don’t even get the option I guess! They have a beer infusion machine thingy which is very different and clever! I have never seen one before and I can’t think of any other bar that has one! They do infusions of flavors in random beers on their tap, I haven’t tried this yet, but really want to. I do love how they have gorgeous outdoor seating and that the place is clean and well kept. I recommend sitting outside and relaxing with a beer. The food prices are low though, but I would stick with the sandwiches!

I ate outside and it has a really beautiful patio. There are flowers in window boxes and it has a very welcoming feel. I only stepped inside for a moment but the inside looked cute too. Unfortunately the food left MUCH to be desired. Its bar food and lack-luster sandwiches were extremely disappointing. I really wanted to like this place because it’s near my house and has outdoor seating. The flavored mojito was the only good taste of my meal. Also, the service wasn’t good at all! Our waitress was nice but seemed overwhelmed. I had my dog with me and two different servers promised to bring out water for her(without my prompting) and never did. One of them was a manager and even promised to bring out a treat with the water and obviously did not follow through on that either. I’d suggest coming here for the drinks, but if you’re looking for good food or service; it’s definitely not the place to go.

Cute neighborhood spot. Have stopped in on a couple of occasions and I’m impressed by the friendliness of the staff. Haven’t eaten anything, but their specials look like great deals. I’m happy to have a cute spot nearby for a beer and it’s great that they have Sunday beer carry out. A little bland but I hope(and think they will) they find their niche.

This is a good bar for drinks and a pleasant atmosphere, but in my experience the food is nothing special. I’ve been to Cockey’s a couple of times, the staff has always been very pleasant and the location and atmosphere are great. I think it has really improved my neighborhood and outdoor seating is great when the weather is nice. Unfortunately the food that I’ve tried here has been ok at best. I came with several friends, split a couple of their pizzas and was a bit disappointed. The pizza wasn’t terrible and the prices were really good but it wasn’t anything special either. With all the really good pizza you can get in Fells Point it’s hard to justify coming to Cockey’s for it. The crust in particular was mediocre, it seemed like the dough wasn’t fresh and they probably didn’t have a real pizza oven. I don’t want to be too rough on Cockey’s because it’s a very pleasant place to come for a beer. They’ve got some interesting selections on tap and service has always been prompt and friendly. The food is a letdown though, so it might be best to move on to another place once you get hungry.

My new favorite bar in the neighborhood — great happy hour and dinner specials(love love love the Crushes with fresh fruit), great food selection(especially pizza), great beer selection, great atmosphere, great employees, just lots of great!
