Just Awesome! Just had an appointment with Liz. She is really great — I hadn’t gotten a professional hair cut/color in 2 years and was very nervous. She worked a miracle on my hair and knew exactly the subtle look I was looking for. I will definitely be going back as long as I live in the area. Definitely ask to have your hair done by her, she was absolutely terrific.

GOSEEFAYE!!! If you want an amazing hair cut, color or style please do yourself a favor and see Faye. She was so awesome to talk to and she really knows her stuff. She listened to everything I asked and did it perfectly!!! I usually leave a salon feeling like I didn’t get everything I wanted but I left today with absolutely everything I asked for! I also mentioned that my cowlick was really hard to style and she spent time using and showing me different products to use and ways to help combat my crazy hair. All I can say is that was the best hair cut I have had in a long time and I am definitely coming back!!!

This place is FANTASTIC! I’ve gotten my last several haircuts with Gina, who is beyond wonderful. I first went to her in desperation after receiving an awful cut from a salon in Bethesda, and she not only fixed the atrociousness that was my hair, but also gave me exactly what I wanted. I am pretty particular about my hair and I rarely leave a salon feeling satisfied — except when it comes to Gina. The rest of the staff is super friendly(offering you a smile and a drink as soon as you walk through the door), the place is clean, and the location is fantastic!

This was my first time getting my hair done in MD since I moved here almost 3 years ago. I was nervous to say the least but after the rating on here I decided to give it a try. After look at pictures I decided to give Liz a try. I showed her pictures and told her how I wanted my hair darker, yet still blonde and she did a great job! She was very friendly and I loved my new color and cut, would definitely go back to her and recommend to others. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the price was a little shocking. I was expecting around $ 125 since that’s what the pricing list says for full highlights but when I rang out it was $ 180, not upset as I love the result but over $ 200(with tip) is a little hard on my budget.

Faye took an impossible cut and horrible color from another salon(local chain) and turned it around for me. her color work is AMAZING the cut is now manageable and it will grow out — it was so botched when I came to Faye she had to take more off/sadly she was exceptionally patient and kind with me all the while I was distraught from what had been done to me at AF I would highly recommend Faye, she is very talented!

I had my hair ruined here. I went there to get a highlight and the stylist left the bleach on too long and fried my hair. Then he tried to fix it with toner which turned my hair bright yellow. I left crying, then when I went back to get it fixed they charged me again!!! I will not be back.

My hair desperately needed some TLC so I made an appointment with Morgan and I was very pleased with the results! She did a great job and listened closely to how I liked my hair cut. I will be back!

I am pretty particular with my hair as I like to be blonde but very natural. Morgan did an outstanding job getting my highlights the exact color I wanted. She listened very well and the highlights are very close to the root which is surprisingly not that common. I would definitely recommend her and this salon for the future. One comment I would add to the salon is to perhaps offer wine as a beverage option… that is the only thing I miss at my other salon. Just a thought!

I’ve been Unilocaling for a few years and never reviewed a hair salon because I am so afraid of someone cutting off all my hair that I have been cutting my own… I read Vanessa’s review of Faye at Brocattos and thought, «This could have been written by me.» She was so happy; I prayed I would still feel the same way post-haircut. I went to Faye for a consultation and came back the next week for my haircut. I couldn’t do it the same day because I wanted to make sure she REALLY, really, understood what I was looking for. FAYEIS A HAIRGENIUS. I guess the cut I asked for is pretty standard for a girl w/a lot of long, straight, fine, hair that was all one extremely long length. I requested side-swept bangs with lots of layers but to pleaseeeeee keep the length. She delivered, making sure not to cut it too short. I have cried after almost every haircut I have ever received. I would go home and play with it in the mirror and be exasperated and resort to a ponytail. One time I cried AT the salon when my ‘side-swept’ bangs were literally above my eyebrow. Maybe because I was going to Hair Cuttery, but thats besides the point. I LOVEMYHAIRCUT. I felt like a model the whole day and was so sad to wash my hair the next day(it was too greasy/flat even for dry shampoo to save, maybe because of the product, not sure). I love my haircut so much I never even felt a second of doubt or sadness after my haircut. In fact — I still have long hair despite the very large pile of hair that I left on the floor at Brocattos. My hair dries in about 1⁄3 of its regular time, it holds volume a little bit better, and I feel like I actually have a style. Faye knows what’s up! I’m so happy I discovered her and will now be getting regular haircuts as I transition to a more manageable length of hair. And as far as price, I believe that you get what you pay for. You can’t un-do your haircut so I believe it’s worth every penny.

I LOVE my new cut. Olivia is awesome. Possibly the best cut I’ve ever had. I showed Olivia a picture of what I wanted and she nailed it! She also showed me a new way to get the wavy beach look that I love. I highly recommend her.

A great haircut by Nicole Monson! Very patient and detail oriented, willing to help explain the haircut and by the time I wake up(haircuts are very relaxing) it’s always looks pretty damn cool and I couldn’t ask for more. Coming from a guy who was never into haircuts until recently, thanks to Nicole. Definitely worth the price to get a solid haircut! Not a fan of getting offered the orange juice and coffee by brocatos, but that’s probably more for the women haha.

Awesome! I’m very new to Baltimore, and I took a chance and tried a new salon on the day before an important job interview. I needed color very badly and I found Brocato because they are open on Mondays. What wonderful luck I had! Nicole was my colorist, and she really knows her stuff. I had to try 4 different salons/colorists in my previous city before I found someone who didn’t ruin my hair. Nicole took me in hand and made great suggestions to give me a more versatile look. I am thrilled with my hair and my new color guru! Definitely give Brocato a try if you want to really love your hair…

I found Faye through the Anthropologie grapevine. I admired two different people’s haircuts and they both directed me to Faye. Great cut, asymmetrical and easy to care for!

I always go to liz and she does an amazing job! The shampoo and scalp massage are the best! The salon has foot rests which don’t hurt your neck. They always do an indepth consultation first, and make you kuerig coffee or tea :-). Pretty place and I always find parking.

It’s great walking out of a salon, looking and feeling great, and exactly as you envisioned! More often than not, I’ve gotten my hair cut, colored or both and realized it was nothing like what I expected and I wait another 8 – 10 weeks for it grow out or have it be safe to color again. Having said that, this place had it right. Exactly a color as I envisioned it, from the color to the cut and even the style! I scheduled my appointment with Jenna as a suggestion from close friends who had gone there before. She was amazing! Judging by the looks and styles of the patrons around me, I assume they felt equally pleased.

I just moved to Baltimore recently and was contemplating on getting my hair colored since quite sometime. Got to read great reviews on Unilocal about this place and so I got an appointment with Faye. She is a sweetheart and I had such a wonderful time chatting with her during my hair treatment. I got full highlights done, and Faye besides helping me make up my mind about the kind of color I want, worked her magic on my hair. I am more than happy with my hair and would recommend this place as well as Faye highly!

Coming from California it has been really difficult to find a stylist that can work with my hairstyle/hair type. I have coarse, asian textured hair and Faye did a phenomenal job with my cut! She was able to give me an asymmetrial creative cut and reshaped the entire back of my hair! She was great at figuring out how my hair lays and what would work with my face shape. I highly recommend her if you are looking to do a creative cut or if you have asian hair! *the only thing is, make sure you bring cash for tips because they are not able to add tips to the credit/debit card transaction.

I moved to Baltimore last August, but until now I have continued seeing my hairstylist in DC. I equate letting someone style my hair to doing a trust fall, but into just one person’s arms instead of two. The other day I had that moment I have — about three times a year — that I hadn’t cut my hair in 4 months. Not even a trim. Gross. And because I was so horrified, I decided that I was going to go ASAP, in Baltimore. After reading some Unilocal reviews, I tried out Brocato’s. Faye did my hair and a sweeter hairdresser there never was. We had great conversation, and when I mentioned that I want to figure out how to put waves in my hair she actually spend a ton of extra time curling my hair to show me what it would look like. She used a number of different products, explaining what each one was for, but in no way tried to push them on me. You just get a «prescription» where she writes down everything she used and what each does, and if you decide you want them you can just come back! The only thing I would say is that once I washed out all of the product the style that I had wanted in the front, sort of those big side swept bangs but longer, was not exactly what I wanted, although perhaps I did not explain this well enough to her. I will most definitely be going back to see Faye!!!

I moved to Baltimore over a year ago, and have been putting off a haircut since I got here. I’ve had the same stylist for years, so finding a new one was giving me some major anxiety. I had been doing a bunch of research on salons in the city, but wasn’t ready to commit. This morning, I had just about had it with my unruly locks. I saw that Brocato’s was open on Monday(hard to find in the salon world), and called, not expecting any openings. I made my call at 1, and was in the chair by 330. I met with Faye, and I was so nervous I broke out in hives all over my chest and neck. What a mess. Faye was totally cool about it. She brushed it off, and assured me she would take care of me. We talked about what we should do, looked over some swatches, and got to work. She instantly made me feel comfortable. She also only worked on me. I really hate it when stylists double and triple book clients. You might be that good, but Im needy and selfish, and like the attention to be on me when I’m paying for it. Speaking of paying for it, I did have a bit of sticker shock when I paid, but it’s true you get what you pay for. My color is PERFECT. Not at all what I wanted or expected when walked in, but so happy I went for the highlights Faye suggested. They’re amazing. Wonderfully blended, not stripy, and completely natural looking, which isn’t always easy on brunettes. The cut is fab, too. My hair looks amazing, even thrown up in a pony. I was in the salon a little longer than I had planned, but I did have a lot done and, well, you cant rush perfection! Some other points: I have long, fine, thin hair. I received a layered, angled cut with side swept bangs, highlights, and color. I was offered water and tea/coffee, several times. No going thirsty here! I was not pressured to buy products, ATALL. You cannot put a tip on your CC, so bring cash. If you forget there, is an ATM in the salon, though it does have a surcharge. There are tons of magazines for reading, but all of the stylists seemed to be gifted at engaging their clients in really natural conversation; nobody seemed forced at all. Parking for free in the Safeway lot! Thanks so much, Faye. I really am very happy. I’ll be back! UPDATE: 3 days after my cut, I decided I shouldve been a bit more aggressive with my bangs. I called Brocato’s at 430pm and by 5pm I was in Faye’s chair. She was very understanding, not offended, listened to my new ideas for my bangs, and got to cutting. She did this without charge! Brocato’s is all about customer satisfaction, and really mean it when they tell you to come back for ANY adjustments to keep you happy.
