I believe this dish in the photo is called the roasted veggie sandwich. So amazing! Generous amount of cheese and delicious veggies. I love the cool and creamy mint yogurt side. The portions just blow my mind. HALF of the sandwich is the size of your WHOLE average slice of bread. I ordered the sandwich on gluten free bread. The food is just so good. I’ve been here three times and have adored every moment. The bakery is to die for. The vegan brownie is my favorite!

I have been trying to love Atwater’s because I love Belvedere Square. I guess you can say they make a solid lunch spot, especially since I don’t love«fast food» or national chains. Currently, I am spending great deal of time over on the east side of town, so they work well for me. Plus, flavored iced teas that change regularly. I think chef could use a little more seasoning in most of their dishes, but I am a fan of their chicken salad. I enjoy the sweet additions of apples, cranberries, and golden raisins. They use a herbed mayo; I love basil. Huge chunks of chicken. It’s a chunky salad with lots of flavor. These guys offer full service at the tables and bar, but also have a case of to go salads, which makes lunch super easy. I usually can’t even finish the small container in one sitting. There are sometimes, I need a few moments to work. On this day, I grabbed a seat, logged onto the wi-fi and ordered an actual salad — with the chicken salad on top of course… The kale salad is raw kale topped with pumpkin seeds and home-made granola. I got it with the dressing on the side and was a little disappointed. The lemon buttermilk might have wilted the kale a little a mellowed the pickled beets, as the seeds and the granola and make for a dry dry salad. I’ll know for next time.

I’m giving 3 stars based on customer svc. I’ve been to Atwaters before and had a Great experience. This time however, the service was awful. Decided to come in after church and grab brunch. Our waitress was impatient, she kept running off at a moments pause in-between breaths. I had to keep waving her over to finish my order. When our food finally arrived it was not hot as though it had been sitting a while. Additionally, asking for extra syrup was out of the question, because no one checked on our table. It also took forever to get the check. I was so disappointed because I talked this place up to my Boyfriend so we can try it and the experience sucked for him, when it had been so great my first visit just weeks before. Oh well… consistency is needed.

Fresh, high quality, locally sourced ingredients; these are what set Atwaters apart from other similar establishments. The soups are great and rotate on a daily and seasonal basis. Call ahead or check online for the latest offerings. My personal favorite is the gazpacho which is only available during the summer. The breads are also fantastic. Keep in mind that every order of soup comes with a generous hunk of bread; a perfect way to kill two birds with one stone. The sandwiches are also delicious. There are a couple of mainstays like the chicken salad and the grilled portabella. In addition to the mainstays, there are seasonal offerings like the turkey jack and the B.A.L.T. My personal favorite is the ham and cheddar biscuit. The salads are also a solid option. Every salad is simply made with fresh, flavorful ingredients and lightly dressed with house made dressing. My personal favorite is the kale salad, which is dressed with pickled beets and lemon yogurt dressing. The menu also includes other tasty treats like hot entrees, baked goods, and house made ice cream during the summer. They also offer a full breakfast menu with pancakes and breakfast platters. Plus, their coffee service is outstanding! One thing to keep in mind is that the prices are higher than a place like Panera. But this is a case where you get what you pay for.

Decent food, but they need to figure out how to speed up their service! 40 minutes to get breakfast food, and then my fiancé’s pancakes werent even cooked! We sat at the bar and the communication between the kitchen staff and servers really looks like it needs some work! I thought maybe we would get a discount on our meal or maybe a comp-nope! We won’t be coming back here for breakfast(or lunch).

You call this Matzoh Ball Soup? Late in the season I got the flu. What better cure-all than to have a quart of matzoh ball soup delivered to the house to make it all better? WRONG. First, the quart was $ 13.70. I know, steep. But I assumed I’d get enough to soothe my soul. Wrong again! What arrived at my house is a quart of celery soup. The quart contained two matzoh balls the size of golf balls. If that wasn’t bad enough, the taste is terrible. They look like compact balls filled with spices to give them flavor which is absolutely awful. I cannot believe I just spent all that money(with tax, tip, delivery) for a quart of celery soup. Never again. What a rip off.

I love this place! It reminds me of a coffee bar from Europe. They have a chic atmosphere and amazing pancakes!!! They also sell gluten free bread!

I went here today after an insane wait at iron rooster. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. The hostess was very nice and sat us very quickly… but thats where the service peaked. For some reason they brought our order out as takeout — While we were sitting at our table… in a full restaurant… weird. Anyway, I ordered the Huevos rancheros which ended up being delicious!(highly recommend) My companions ordered the ham and grits and Fritatta — no real complaints for the ham and grits, but the Fritatta was very disappointing — rubbery and totally underwhelming. Definitely do not recommend the Fritatta, but I would go back for the Huevos and the slow drop coffee, which was excellent.

Okay, so I originally ended up at Atwaters Canton because of the ridiculous wait at Iron Rooster, but now I’d choose it over Iron Rooster in a heartbeat. I’ve come several times with just one other friend for brunch. Service is always lovely and their food is fresh and delicious. I pretty much always get a London Fog(they have soy milk, for vegans!) and a salad. Favorites include the Field Greens with curried pears and toasted almonds, the Romaine and Red Beet, the baby Kale with granola and pumpkin seeds. I wasn’t sure how they’d handle it when we walked in with a large party(8 including two children, one in a high chair) on Valentine’s Day for brunch, but they were able to get us seated pretty quickly and effectively. Who knew they had a great kids menu, too? We all loved our brunch. My fiancé especially enjoyed his bourbon butterscotch drink. Most impressively, when it came time for the check, the waitress split us up by family. So convenience and thoughtful. Great place for a classy meal with fresh, often local ingredients. Pick up a fresh baguette, locally grown coffee, or artisan chocolate bar while you’re there. I love their handmade mugs, too.

A cute place for brunch. We stopped in for a quick bite and didn’t have to wait long to be seated. They have a good brunch menu and we all enjoyed our meals. I had ham and grits which was two fried eggs with ham over a grit cake. The red sauce was really nice. The same red sauce was served won the hue is rancheros which was also delicious. My two friends both got the hue is rancheros and we’re happy with them. My daughter got the kids pancakes and it came with a side of fruit and a cute little jar of syrup. The sea salt caramel latte was just ok. I didn’t taste very much caramel.

SUMMARY: Great coffee, vegetarian-friendly, good locations! FULLSTORY: I love that Atwater’s always rotates interesting vegetarian options… like the veggie banh mi with the perfect amount of crunchy carrot/daikon, or the sweet potato/cucumber/hummus sandwich with olives… so tasty! One small gripe is that some sandwiches are a little bread-heavy. They recently changed the pickles they serve, and the new ones are AWESOME. The coffee is really good. Had a lavender latte at breakfast here once… loved it. And they can make a London Fog(i.e., Earl Grey tea with steamed milk and vanilla) — would ask for it with less sugar next time. I wish they had regular mugs… like… ceramic mugs… instead of the thick glazed pottery situation. But I think I get what they’re going for. Staff at both the Hopkins and Canton locations are really helpful and nice. I feel like this place gets overlooked sometimes because it’s in a random commercial plaza… but it’s cool to have local places like Atwater’s and Iron Rooster mixed in! Note: Free parking in Canton and they can deliver on OrderUp!

A year ago, if you asked me, I would have said that this place was definitely not my cup of tea. In my honest opinion, I thought it tried too hard to be «cool & hipster». But then I realized that there were a half dozen Atwaters in the nearby area, making it a somewhat of a chain, so I decided that there was definitely no «hipster» going on here any more. It was definitely a business. And the business of food service & hospitality at this location is pretty decent. The food is good, but the servers often have too much to do(or get distracted) and food sits at the window waiting to be brought to customers. I see this happen all the time at this location, which is disappointing, but the food is decently tasty. The menu has something for everyone. Soups, salads, sandwiches, some entrée-like dishes, and desserts. This location also serves up beer(on tap!) and wine and cocktails. Brunch is pretty lovely here. Nice and bustling crowd and busy servers. I don’t like that this place is in the middle of a mall area, but it does keep the customers happy while they are in the middle of shopping around. I’ve never had problems with parking. PROS: Good assortment of changing menu items that vary seasonally. Serves alcoholic beverages. Plenty of seating and an open bar area. Fresh produce and handmade breads. Sells things pre-packaged for to-go customers. Quick and free wifi. Sells homemade baked goods and other local goodies. Offers catering at decent prices. Kind servers and staff. CONS: Soups are ALWAYS cool or lukewarm, at best. Soup should be served piping hot and fresh. The food tends to sit at the window for longer than I would like to see, so if you order something a little less cooked/rare/soft, it will cook by the time it reaches you even if the cooks in the back prep it to your liking at first. Soft-Scrambled eggs will never be «soft”-cooked, it will get well-done by the time it reaches you… argh! Overall… I like this place because it is so close to where I live and work, but it’s not the«best» food, and it’s not the«best» service, and it’s not the«best» atmosphere. It’s average-to-good at all aspects of the industry and I encourage them to keep working hard and doing what they do because I think it’s working within the Canton neighborhood of Baltimore. I’ll definitely keep going back for meals(usually lunch/brunch) that is always consistent and fairly quick.

Been here a couple times and see what the hype is about in regards to their chicken salad sandwich. I am officially hooked on their crack! It so good that each time I am there, my mouth is salivating, yearning for my meal that I forget to take a picture until the sandwich is tucked away in my belly. The staff is always friendly and courteous. The food is always fresh. I am happy to hear that there is a location closer to home. This may not be a good thing haha!

Decent food with slightly higher price. I had tuna sandwich. It was a little too acidic to my taste and somwhat watery. I guess it should be healthier than those drenched in mayo. But I somehow like a little more body to my sandwich and like tuna flakes to bind together. It is $ 12 with tip and you could see it is a little on the smaller side. But I think they have some interesting items. So if I live closer, I may still come back.

Gotta give this place their due credit, especially to cancel out someone else I know giving this place a negative review(yes, you mom! sorry!). Had a lovely brunch here on Sunday — very little wait, great menu, great service, everything all around great. And they even had kale farro salad and pecan pie samples! Love anyplace that has lots of veggie options, I particularly enjoy having salad during breakfast/brunch, which can be a rarity. The food was good quality for the price too, my husband was surprised because we had brunch at a diner 2 weeks ago for the same price, but minus the mimosa! After having gone to the Atwater’s in Belvedere Square and Catonsville, I also really liked this space(though everything in Canton Crossing is beautiful, so that’s a given). Nice and airy, cool fixtures, not crammed like their other locations. Good balance of the bar, café, and shop. Would definitely come back for lunch, or just a snack. We managed to avoid the baked goods this time, may not be able to next time!

Atwater’s was one of my favorite lunch spots in college, so when I realized a friend I was visiting in Baltimore lived only steps away from this location, I convinced the group to make a trip for dinner. This location looks small from the outside, but has a decent amount of seating. The menu also may look small, but there’s an impressive variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, and even full dinner entrees — plus wine, beer, and crafty, reasonably priced cocktails. I was immediately drawn in by the maple bourbon apple cider, served hot — it was sweet and gave a nice, warm burn. I also had the vegetarian soup, which was chock full of grains, butternut squash, and kale. Served with a lovely piece of seedy bread, it was perfect for a chilly night. I also split the grilled cheese with a friend — perhaps a bit too much cheese for me(hard to believe, right?) but it was definitely tasty. The service was quick and friendly, and they didn’t complain about splitting our check four ways. Petition to bring Atwater’s to Philly begins now…

Food was good. But service was horrible and slow. Half of the employees were in break and 40% were in the cell it took 1 hour to get out omelette. My complains were met with execuses not accountability. What supposed to be a quick stop for breakfast turned into a whole morning frustrating affair.

The ingredients are clearly quality, the staff is really bubbly, the atmosphere is «refreshing»(whatever that means), and the food is carefully crafted, BUT Atwater’s takes too damn long to process and order a simple tuna sandwich. My sandwich was kind of small, and even though it was good, definitely should not have taken the 30+ minutes of waiting. The food is also TOOEXPENSIVE! $ 11 for a sandwich without sides or a drink is simply unreasonable. I am all for quality sandwiches(see my review on Z&H in Chicago — favorite restaurant ever, although a little pricey ~$ 8 – 9), but the price and wait time are reason enough to just make your own at home. You want a good, cheap sandwich? Go to Safeway’s deli.

Gotta love Atwaters! Always fresh ingredients, delish coffees and teas, locally sourced products and a great staff to boot! I’ve also been to the Belvedere Square and Kenilworth locations but this one is my favorite for camping out to do some work. The staff here is always friendly, quick and wearing a smile. Their soups are always delicious. My favorite cold day drink is the hot spiced cider. So good! Last time I had the field greens salad and an iced chai, both delicious! The salad was huge! I want to try their homemade ice creams next and also their happy hour!

Been here many, many times since my first review when they had just opened. Obsessed. I’ve been for brunch, lunch, dinner, and even happy hour. Love the breakfast sandwich with bacon on an everything bagel, the turkey cran and Brie sammie(one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had due to the unique cranberries… they pop in your mouth and are not a sugary, jelly-like spread like other places), the black bean chili, and the burger, which was cooked perfectly medium rare and super juicy. Great beer and wine selection as well! I commented on slow service in my first review when they had just opened and I haven’t experienced it since. They have a ton of people working and Keith is the man! This is my go-to place in Canton for fresh, always exciting choices, since the menu changes daily. And the iced coffee is still stellar! Plus you get free refills when you dine-in. I just wish they had a coffee loyalty punch card…
