Don’t go here for anything other than the drinks. I’m only giving it 3 stars because Liz the bartender was fabulous! She kept us entertained and the drinks coming. Might I add she made the absolute best lemon drop shot I’ve ever had in my life. So good I had to have 3! The secret she says is in the… I won’t reveal it just stop in and try it for yourself. On the down side the food bleh and the bathrooms disgusting. But then again it’s a bar so don’t go there for anything other than drinks.

I’m an optimist. I try to find the best in places. I struggled to find it here. This place has a great bar and that is probably the only thing going for it other than architecture. The rest is forgettable at best, rude and greasy at worst. I made a reservation for a large group(11 people) 4 days ahead of time. We were not informed until the day-of that there would be a different, smaller menu that night due to a giant event in the main room. We were just supposed to be OK with the fact that the menu that night had around 8 items instead of the full menu we expected when making the reservation. We were also not told that happy hour no longer existed under new management. HAPPYHOUR no longer exists. If you’ve read the reviews of this place, you will see that happy hour is basically the only thing they have going for them. Hopefully I misunderstood what the new manager(who on the phone called me ‘milady ma’am’) was saying and they haven’t gotten rid of the only reasonably priced part of their menu. Our server was as good as he could be, given the chaos that night. The food was forgettable. I would hope that the new management is trying to turn this place around and make it the hip lounge and restaurant it can be, but based on the complete and utter chaos, rudeness of staff, and lack of communication with customers we experienced, I sincerely doubt it.

Terrible service. Ended up not ordering because it took so long to get drinks and the sad plate of antipasti did not indicate that our dinner would be enjoyable. Only saving grace was half-decent Manhattan.

This place was pretty decent. The server was nice, was training someone at the time and we were a party of six. Everyone enjoyed their food. Just speaking to what I had, the calamari appetizer was perfectly seasoned and the chicken panini was very good. I ordered the chicken penne pasta to-go for my boyfriend and it was the greasiest thing on this side of the country. He couldn’t even eat it. I guess 2 out of 3 isn’t bad. Not sure if i’ll return but if you’re looking for decent food in Fells Point, you may want to check out this place.

Went there for early dinner on a sunny Sunday afternoon with the kids. Ate outside. I was a bit worried because the place was quite empty when Fells Point was quite busy otherwise. We had good service. The food was very good, and unique. The kids(ages 5&9) each got pizzas, which were thin crust, flatbread style. They were very tasty. My wife got the steak sandwich(less than $ 10), which was delicious, and came with a side salad that was also very good and interesting – spring mix essentially, with nuts and fruit. I got the chicken sandwich, which was good. It had pesto topping and fresh mozzarella. It wasn’t quite as good as the steak sandwich, but I was not disappointed, especially for $ 8. It came with a very generous serving of shoestring frenchfries that appeared«fresh cut», and had a little bit of additional seasoning, perhaps pepper, oregano, and/or rosemary – hard to tell exactly. I also got the«chop salad», which was good, but could have had a bit stronger a flavor, but good nonetheless. We would definitely want to go back.

If you only read one sentence from this review, let it be this: DONOTGOTOTHISESTABLISHMENT. In fact, cross the road if you need to walk by it so as to avoid the illogical, rude, and downright immature people who work here. My brother and I were visiting my sister in Baltimore and had walked by earlier in the day to check out their menu. We were excited about the Friday and Saturday happy hour deal(1pm-9pm, should have known then) for half price pitchers and pizzas. As it turns out, you have to order both to receive the deal, but that’s the least of the issue here. Our waiter started out very nice. We ordered our food and a pitcher of Boulevard Tank 7 and were all set to enjoy a nice night in Fell’s Point. Then the trouble began. Our waiter(Steve) brought out a pitcher that was approximately half beer and half head. He halfheartedly apologized about the head but seemed incapable of actually doing anything about it. We took a sip and it was horrible. If you know anything about beer, you know that Tank 7 is a delicious saison/farmhouse ale/What we had tasted so little like Tank 7 that we were curious if it was even the right beer. Steve stopped by a few minutes later and asked«How’s the beer?» to which we replied with our concern. He said he was sorry and that he would check on it inside. In the meantime, we enjoyed the food(quite good, actually) and I stopped drinking the beer, it was that bad. Steve returned a bit later, commented on how fast we finished our food, and said nothing about the beer. It was pretty bizarre, but at this point we weren’t too worried about it because it was half price, and we were ready to move on with our night. And then he brought the check. The charge(pre-deal) was $ 35 for the pitcher. Now, in the case that it was a full pitcher with the correct quality beer, $ 35 would have been completely acceptable.(It’s a pricey beer.) However, we flagged him down to explain that it didn’t really seem right that we were being charged for essentially 5 full beers at $ 7 each when in reality we were only able to pour less than 3 full beers given the amount of head. As we explained the situation, Steve became argumentative about the discrepancy. This was totally odd to us since there didn’t seem to be anything confusing about our argument. We went on to explain that, based on the amount of beer we received, the full price would have been more along the lines of $ 12 per beer – a completely absurd price, particularly given the quality. Steve proceeded to give a completely off-the-wall explanation of «how bartenders measure pitchers» using hand measurements and ¾ of a glass of ice. I personally have never heard of this and have no idea what ice has to do with a pitcher of beer. Although, if he put ice in the beer, that would come closer to explaining the poor quality. I digress. It got to the point that we asked to speak with a manager. Quite a while later, the manager came to our table with Steve in tow. The following exchange was even more ridiculous. The manager(Adam? Alex?) asked us what was going on, we explained, and then Steve jumped in only in order to be completely untruthful about how much beer was originally in the pitcher. The two employees began to talk back and forth about the situation, leaving us to sit there dumbfounded. They walked back inside, presumably to continue their conversation, without resolving the situation. So we waited some more. A few minutes later, Steve returned with the check, placed it on the table, and said«I’m really sorry, but there’s nothing we can do for you.» WHAT. IN. THE. WORLD. It is now three days later, and I’m still completely baffled about the entire thing. This place has no business being in the service industry until they can get it together. Unbelievable. Would give zero stars if I could.

I WOULDRATETHISPLACE A ZEROIF I COULD!!! Note to readers. BEWARE, FOODISMEDIOCREANDOVERPRICEDFORTHEQUALITY. SERVICEISRUDEIFYOUARENOTSATISFIEDWITHWHATSPROVIDED. I visited on 8÷28÷15 and this was the most rude customer service I’ve ever experience and the food was horrible. I walked in for lunch and it was no one in there beside one guy drinking water. The hostess greeted me, I ordered and left. I opened my salad to find 4 dry, thin and slim slices of chicken and a bunch of over dressed romaine lettuce. I returned to ask for a refund because I couldn’t wait due to my lunch time being over. The hostess flipped a switch and immediately became annoyed. She said well you ordered a chicken Cesar salad and that’s what you got. She then proceed to tell me what in the salad as if I was too dumb to know. That was insulting. She proceed to say let me heck with Adam the manger first before refunding. I waited for 5 mins and a very sarcastic Adam said well next time if you want more chicken you need to ask. I replied well I’m a customer this is my first time here … I didn’t know you were serving this as your full size salad. He goes well it’s only 8.99. I replied, why are you going back and forth with me … I’m a customer and you being rude continuously cutting me off. He disregards me and decides to talk past me to his employees to say give her money. I said that the waiter can keep the tip and he said don’t worry it’s nothing. I said well here is your change and he replied we dont need it. MESSAGETOTHEOWNERS: … If business is suffering you may want to take a long look into your customer service and if its not suffering Im sure it will eventually if things are not changed. The funny thing is I would have kindly paid more, money is never an issue. However The rudeness of the staff was unbelievable in such a competitive location. You would think considering it was completely empty you would make this a priority. I have emailed my entire corporate office and let them know NOTTODINEATANASTASIA’s. You may only loose about 200 prospects but I guess that’s nothing to you all. I will also be sure to spread the word as the manager Adam so sarcastically advised me to do so… PS. I went to BOP.

We haven’t been to Baltimore in a while, so we were excited to try out a restaurant for a great meal in Fells Point on a Sunday. A friend with us wanted to try Anastasia, so we stopped in despite the lack of only seeing one other table with people. Heads up, our server wasn’t wearing any deodorant, so strong whiffs of B.O. hovered around our table every time she stopped by, even clouding the smell of our meals when they arrived. I’m guessing this is probably normal for Baltimore and the hippie type environment? We have all lived near very liberal colleges, but just a heads up for those who might have more of a gag reflex. We started off by ordering some mixed drinks and a beer which all ended up being great concoctions, the best part of the meal really. The lack of a kid’s menu or the inability to make a smaller portion for the kiddos was not a big deal… my daughter alone has developed a great palate for a six year old and prefers sharing adult meals anyway. I ordered the steak sandwich but added marinara sauce so it wouldn’t be too dry. My fiancé went with the crab soup and avocado caprese. Our friend ordered the chicken penne which was shared by my daughter and his son ordered the pancakes and fries. First of all, fries were awesome. Perfectly seasoned shoestring fries. The crab soup tasted like Campbell’s tomato soup with old bay seasoning. The caprese was around $ 9(??) and only included three pieces with dry, old tasting, gummy mozzarella. The steak sandwich came without the marinara, and she forgot to bring it after a reminder until I was about done. Waffles came out instead of pancakes, but she replaced them with pancakes as ordered… took a good amount of time to get the pancakes back though. The pasta wasn’t bad. All in all the food wasn’t worth the price or the wait. Plus side? The fries and drinks were delish. The menu wasn’t anything special… and everything was pretty ordinary. We’ll be trying a different restaurant next time…

Stopped here for the nightlife here last weekend and it was okay. Pizza here is pretty good and bartenders were very nice to me and my lady friends. It’s like a mix of casual, upscale, hipster, new age, and not so high end of people, but it is interesting to see everyone mesh together. It’s a good place to socialize with different types of people, overall a nice place to hit on Thames!

Its amazing how much of this place the bar takes up — which makes for an interesting set up, great for having a drink with a friend. The feel of the place is an odd hybrid of new age and classic, at times charming but also clashing… after all, this is a hotel bar in the heart of fells point’s hipster/high end area. The beer selection was limited, but what they did offer appeared to be really well selected– so kudos there. The bartender handed me a full menu($ 20-$ 30 for most entrees) but then pointed out the happy hour menu(most items under 10 bucks) and recommended the personal pizza or the grilled calamari –I got both of those. The calamari was very fresh tender and enjoyable — a drizzle of balsamic vinegar was unexpected and pleasant. Next came the personal pizza. It was much larger than I expected — but the crush was under done leaving me feeling like I was scooping up a mound of cheese with a mushy crust. (The bartender did ask me how everything was, and I didn’t complain — mostly because I was pretty hungry and pressed for time) There was also some live music going on by a pretty talented couple doing covers. It was a nice touch, but the«stage» area was below the bar, so I couldn’t see much. This place does have a lot going for it — location, potential ambiance, friendly staff — but when something as simple as a personal pizza is so off, its hard to give my recommendation outright(thus three stars) — especially when its what the staff recommends. The happy hour is a great deal, so I will be back to try a few more things and hopefully bump up my rating a star(or two — who knows!)

Came here on a Friday, around 2PM. We got a seat outside under a shade… so we are off to a good start. The service was slow, but it wasn’t annoying. Maybe because I actually had to chat with my company about business. Ordered Fried Calamari, Shrimp Linguini, and Seared Salmon. The food was good but not great… nothing to go nuts for. And the lady never asked us if we wanted anything to drink or if we wanted to order desert. She probably lost $ 30 because if she would’ve asked, we would’ve ordered. To sum this up, we won’t be going back. We’ll visit other places before we come here again.

This is just for the downstairs dancing. I’ve never eaten here so I don’t know how the food is. But downstairs gives you more of a DC lounge/club feel, which I think is something that baltimore needs without having to wear heels. I had a lot of fun here. The people both guys and girls were friendly, the guys not as aggressive as new york which was a good thing and I hope it never gets like that! Good music, good times and fun people! really couldn’t ask for more and I would definitely go back for more nights out!

Terrible. We stopped here for late afternoon drinks and snacks while shopping in Fells Point on Thursday, July 18th. The outdoor area was quaint and welcoming. The drinks were poor. My wine sangria was the shortest pour I’ve ever encountered. I am not exaggerating that it only had 3 sips in the glass. I said something and nothing was done about it. Someone else in our party ordered a martini and said it was like KoolAid. My hubby got a bottled beer, can’t ruin that! The 17 year old ordered a Shirley Temple and couldn’t drink it. I thought she was being ridiculous and tasted it myself. It was terrible, very little cherry juice with club soda!?? What? It is suppose to mixed with sprite! We sent it back. They credited us for the Shirley. The waitress was nice, but powerless and openly complained that the bartender was terrible. We decided not to get any food because the whole thing was such a disappointment, and not cheap either! No one offered to make good on the situation. We refused to get negative, paid the bill and left. I took a picture of the sign out front and vowed to write this review once I arrived home. Advice: stay clear!

Slow service, took 10 minutes for server to come to table after we were seated, more than 10 for her to come back with water and to let us know they were still«making our drinks»(two double scotches, 1 neat one rocks). The food was ok(crab cakes weren’t what you would expect someplace in downtown Baltimore) but definitely overpriced for the quality. When the check came we were informed«the credit card machine and computers have been down all day, so we can only accept cash». Yes, there was an ATM half a block away, but that should’ve been brought to our attention before we ordered. I won’t be going back, I don’t recommend this place.

This place is terrible. Same as the restaurant in the space before it, Meli– terrible. I would never have gone here if my friends hadn’t decided upon it. First, our table was in a sequestered area off to the right, behind a wall and away from what would seem to be the main dining area. Bare white walls, small wobbly tables, flies and mosquitos hovering due to the open windows. Despite them being open, the air conditioning was blasting sub-zero temperatures! Ambiance– shot. Baltimore tap water tastes pretty good as far as tap water goes, but the glasses filled on our table tasted like it had come right out of a garden hose. Ick. Time for a beer to get rid of that taste. I ask our young waitress, Brooke, what imports are available. «Ummmm… we have a lot». Oh, I’ll take a look at the menu if it’s so extensive. Well, let me peruse this 12 beer list. Seriously? You can’t memorize that? Or are you too distracted by the noise of the revelers at the bar, enjoying the World Cup to concentrate on rattling off a few? I ended up getting Moretti– which was cold and refreshing(thank goodness that didn’t disappoint!) After waiting over 30 minutes for the food to arrive, I was very hungry and looking forward to the redemption of an Italian BLT(pancetta, lettuce, tomato, avocado). One bite and I discovered what was supposed to be pancetta was in actuality a mound of raw pork. I took it off and took another bite of my lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich… but wait… avocado? I don’t really see it or taste it much. Upon investigation, I notice a smidge of avocado, and it’s brown and gray. Gross. For most of the group, they ordered individual pizzas, and didn’t have complaints. Someone else got a tuna steak, which was the size of… well, jeez. it was just an embarrassing piece of fish. Half the size of the bread it was on. As everyone finishes up their meals, only then does Brooke come by to grab our check. She should have come to our table minutes after we had received our food, so that she would know all was not as it should be. I asked her to remove my meal from the tab, which she did. She returned with the check, but did not return for a while. As some of our table was anxious to leave, I took our bill to the front to be taken care of. Any waitress 101 training will tell you the most important timing of a diner’s evening is after you drop the bill. Usually, you enjoy time at a restaurant, but when it’s over, you want to get out ASAP. I was disappointed in this place, however I kind of expected it. Beer for lunch might not sound bad to some people, but I want it to be a choice to have just a beer. If you are considering, please do not go. The staff seems slow, young and inexperienced. Obviously the kitchen staff is too(plus they need to get educated on Italian cuisine). The price you would pay here will get you a good meal somewhere else! I’m from Baltimore, I should know :)

I had a really nice lunch here & would definitely come back. Anastasia looks to be on the newer side and serves relatively inexpensive Italian dishes(pizzas, pastas, salads). The interior has two areas — a dining/bar room that is fairly dark and clubby feeling and a smaller area to the right of the entrance. We were over there and the windows open all the way meaning there’s lots of light. They have a great lunch special — you pick 2 things from their list: ½ Panini, soup, salad or ½ pizza. I went for the pizza & salad combo and chose their mixed greens(spring mix, strawberries, walnuts, blue cheese, balsamic) and a cheese pizza. Both were really good — the pizza was about the size of 2 «regular» slices and the crust was crispy and delicious. My salad was full of good stuff. The person I was with had the same salad & the blackened tuna Panini. The Panini looked really, really good — a 1″ thick tuna steak that was cooked medium as requested. For both lunches & a bottle of sparkling water the tab was $ 23 which is a great deal considering we both enjoyed our lunch. Service was prompt and friendly.

Went for happy hour with a group of 5 girls last night because it’s 30% off drinks. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. The drinks took forever and our waitress was very nice, but she was MIA. I think she had too many different tables and she was not knowledgeable on the menu. We were the only table in the bar area, and she was running downstairs and outside a lot. Perhaps the bartender should be in charge of the tables in the bar area when it is slow at the bar? Our waitress never asked us if we wanted a second round of drinks and we had to flag her down to get more. Then we watched for over 20 minutes while they sat on the bar. The worst part was that the bartender stood right next to them and drank water, and our hightop table was right next to the bar! There was also loud construction going on in the downstairs part of the restaurant that was grating and made it hard to hear. Lots of clanging and banging. I think they should have closed and then reopened when they were done. In addition, the chairs at the tables are all bar stools with no backs. They were not the most comfortable and there is nowhere to put your purse. No hooks on the bar, and no backs on the chairs. It was dark in there and all of the walls are red and the ceiling is black. Another weird thing was that the 1990s Sublime CD was playing from start to finish. I’m a fan, but that didn’t seem to jive with the Italian-themed restaurant. The food was actually OK. I had the caprese panini. It was not terrible, but cold. The menu said«fire roasted tomatoes» and mine just had a raw tomato on it. The side salad it came with was the highlight. It has strawberries, nuts, blue cheese, etc. Overall, this place is very weird and I will never come back. I felt uncomfortable the whole time.

I didn’t quite know what to expect from anastasia… and somehow left feeling the same way… Came by with a group of friends for drinks and dinner. The drink menu is all Italian wines(as expected) with some bubbly in there too, as well as a few select mixed drinks. The Anastasia drink(blood orange based) was sweet and thick, but not too fruity. The service was as expected still working out kinks. The server couldn’t have been more apathetic, with no recommendations on food items and the line«I haven’t tried any of those» was sadly used more than once. The dinner menu offers 4 – 5 choices of apps, salads, sandwiches, pizza, and pasta. The prices are reasonable ranging between $ 7-$ 12 mostly. We had the drunken appetizer which was a mix of grilled calamari and mussels. It was overly fishy(and this comes from someone who is mostly a pescetarian!) and I def wouldn’t order it again. The chicken pesto sandwich was tasty but how good can a panini be? The Italian trip sandwich(classically served cold) was as described but nothing special. It could use some Italian herbs and a bit more sauce. The margherita pizza was huge(def the most bang for your buck) and nice and cheesy, more like a flatbread than a true pizza, with a very thin crust. The venue itself is very odd… has a huge bar and lounge area downstairs with a dj, and the upstairs looks like a spread out chaotic maze. I’m not sure what their marketing scheme is but the Italian menu pulls towards«home cooked food» while the venue is trying to be «modern» while it’s actually a bit trashy.“ Overall I wouldn’t make the effort to return but if I did, id probably go for the pizza or just drinks.
