We ordered carryout the other night from here. Service was fine and friendly. We ordered the filet mignon phở, chicken fried rice, orange chicken, and rangoon. The rangoon and orange chicken were great but the fried rice and phở were both just… Bland. Generally phở has layers of flavors but it just didn’t have much going on unfortunately.

This is a good place for phở– however I find that places that have their interests spread over more than one focus — the quality in food shows. This restaurant also serves sushi and Chinese food. The latter may be because the owner is of Chinese and Vietnamese background– if I heard it correctly from him. The authentic phở– contains the likes of a soup that is «thick» from marrow– as a result of many hours(some places even overnight) — of slow cooking beef bones. The broth here is good but it’s flavor complexity is not deep. There is also no fish sauce added to the broth– no big deal though– they will happily bring you some on the side to add in. When you’re about 2⁄3 finished with the broth– there is a slightly overwhelming sweet taste that takes over the broth. The service is great. They are always attentive. I try the fried tofu at every restaurant that serves it. Theirs is very good. Doesn’t stand out but I would certainly order it each and every time I go.

This is a nice all in one place, but I mainly came by to try the Vietnamese Phở. The service and atmosphere was nice and the food was okay, but a little on the pricier side. I ordered the Phở Dac Biet(Special Combination Rice Noodles) and I was just disappointed how little meat I got compared to other places. It was tasty though! However, If you want the most out of your money I suggest trying the ones on Olive Blvd in University City or the one in Brentwood.

Pretty decent Vietnamese restaurant in a strip mall on Manchester. I’ve only had the Phở, which is pretty good though not the best in the area. But solid place if location is convenient to you.

Offering Vietnamese dishes alongside a selection of options from elsewhere in Asia, the place prides itself on using all fresh ingredients and fine herbs and spices. Vietnamese dishes range from spring roll varieties to Com Dia, egg noodle, vermicelli(Bun) and a solid range of phở noodle soups of beef, chicken, seafood and tofu. The phở was great; flavors were full and true, and textures perfect. The spring roll peanut sauce was impeccable. We experienced two negatives. 1. Menu scope. The menu exhibits fairly intimate authenticity in Vietnamese, versus some attempts on traditional Thai, a barely light touch on Chinese, and a separate catalog of basic sushi. Teriyaki Wok and American-Chinese stir-fries show the versatility of the menu, but we expected more culinary expertise, technical depth and capabilities under each category, for example, Banh Mi or green papaya salads were missing on the menu, Thai food options were minimal. 2. The place seemed to be understaffed on our Saturday afternoon visit. We never saw the waitress again after the meal served. Later we had to troop across the room to the cash desk to pay.

Each time I order at this restaurant, the food is prepared as ordered. It takes them awhile to make it, but am always very happy with my selections. Great Vietnamese restaurant! Highly recommend Phở

Ordered: Chicken Phở Verdict: I would order again Pros: broth was tasty and chicken was tender Cons: not a lot of chicken Other thoughts: crab rangoons were different style than I’ve had elsewhere, but it was good. Spring rolls were okay. Peanut sauce was very good.

Our first visit here was so good that my update is just sad. Since my glowing review I’ve changed my mind on eating here. On one occasion I ordered a cashew broccoli dish and discovered as I was finishing the dish that a big bug was nestled in the sauce. They didn’t charge us for our dinner but it was a little stomach disturbing. Months later I thought we’d give them a try again. The service was awful. We waited over an hour and finally left after watching many tables that arrived after us get their food. Total wait time 1 hour 17 minutes to long. Horrible service… not worth it!!!

I was in the mood for Thai and my friend wanted Chinese; what were the chances we’d find both in a one stop shop??? Well we did, right here at Phở Manchester and we loved ever bite! The service was very friendly. We were greeted with a warm smile and«hello» immediately upon entering. Our server was an adorable young lady well versed in the menu. She was attentive and prompt. The food arrived piping hot shortly after placing our orders. Presentation was pretty, and the serving sizes plentiful. I got a total of 3 meals out of my Chicken Pad Thai and my guest 2 servings of his Chicken Fried Rice. Our meals were extremely fresh; the vegetables were colorful and delicious. There was no greasy/oily residue or taste. The Crab Rangoon were an amazing starter. I appreciated the linen napkins and precise table settings. It made my dining experience feel like more than the typical Chinese grab & go restaurants I’m use to. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes; I’m especially looking forward to the Phở.

Delicious food!!! But, there are some issues… I have been here many times and every time, I have loved my food. I love the Pad Thai Chicken, so I usually get that. But everything else I’ve tried has been delicious, as well. This restaurant is actually one of my favorites in terms of food… But pretty annoying when it comes to service. No one is actually rude, but they are also not particularly courteous. The service is VERY slow and the servers speak to you very little, and they don’t come back to check on you much, if at all. The water is poured from a pitcher that is not usually iced(I would go so far as to say it has been semi-warm much of the time.) Don’t go here if you are in a hurry, because you cannot count on getting your food in a timely manner. But if you have good company to chat with and time to just sit and talk, the food is worth it and the atmosphere is nice enough. I definitely recommend the food.

This converted 7 – 11 has been turned into a really good restaurant. White linen are atop each table and the room is surrounded by HDTV’s playing loops or high-res pictures of their food… and everything looks yummy. The place focuses on Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese dishes. You can get phở, sushi, and crab Rangoon all in the same sitting. We started with some fried tofu, and then moved on to a vermicelli with egg roll bowl and Singapore noodles. Everything was good, freshly prepared, not too expensive, and came in a large portion. I really liked the fried tofu the best, but my wife’s vermicelli bowl was loaded with different types of meats. The Singapore noodles were just ok. Service is slow. Don’t come here if you are in a rush. And our two entrees were served at separate times. But if you have time, and you are in the area, you should check this place out.

Food is great, but the service is very slow(although everyone who works there are nice). Phở is excellent – I’ve had beef phở and chicken phở. Spring rolls are yummy, too.

Couldn’t ask for more. Nice atmosphere, super friendly staff, owner who care. Great food made to order, good prices & open late. Plenty of convenient parking too. No reason to go to South Grand for Vietnamese food again. Sushi great too… plus variety Asian menu. Next visit a week later, owner of course remembered us and any special requests. Outstanding seafood special fish and best General Tso Chicken ever. Try it, you won’t regret it.

Phở that isn’t hot when it comes out? When I order phở I’m looking for hot soup where you put in your bean sprouts and all the other things in it. I came here at around 11:45 to 12ish with barely anyone in the restaurant so it wasn’t busy at all. Ordered phở and the soup was warm, not even close to hot. Definitely a turn off, in the end, there definitely is better phở in St Louis

I was really confused when I looked at the menu. There’s Thai, Mongolian, Chinese, and Vietnamese. Small restaurant + big menu + not busy = hard to manage good fresh food. I ordered the phở(Vietnamese noodle, since it’s called Phở Manchester). The waitress is Asian, but didn’t understand Vietnamese which is a red flag. I got the phở, the broth is very sweet and tasted artificial. It’s an OK phở place, but it’s not authentic by all means. Cheers.

This used to be in a small building in an old shopping center next to a kick boxing gym where most people did carryout. Their expansion has proven their success in terms of their food. They have moved to what used to be a burger joint in the bread co shopping plaza. I have been here many times in the old and new location. The only changes are the reduction of the menu from before and maybe a slight increase in price for newer food items. Prices are fine but wouldn’t pay for higher end items there IMO. I do like the food a lot and have tried many things, but the way it is made has always been slightly different than other authentic restaurants in terms of Thai and Viet food(not bad, just different). Lately the phở has come out either fine or way sweeter than normal so cook consistency isn’t always the same. For all other food, cook consistency has been fine. Portions BTW are great :) Atmosphere is minimalistic and designed well for customer appeal and cost on their part. Service hasnt been the best BC its usually teenagers(assuming friends or extended family of owner) but recently went in yesterday and there are 2 real waiters/waitresses now in proper attire. It did smell like smoke yesterday which was odd which I haven’t experienced before… I always go during dinner and sometimes lunch but its always fairly dead inside. A couple times it has been busy front of house. To sum up, it feels as though the quality is slightly higher than asian take out but not really enough to be a great sit down even though that’s what they are going for. I am sure it will continue to improve BC they seem to keep making changes and figuring it out :)

This is really more of a 3.5. Went there Sunday after church. The place was about 50% full. I ordered the Filet Mignon Phở, which was excellent. my wife ordered pineapple chicken and my daughter got the sweet and sour chicken. both of these dishes were good, the sauces were a little to syrupy for my taste and both dishes have a slight hint of that«old wok» flavor. Service was a bit slow trying to get the check and leave. Otherwise it was a pleasant visit. I’ll go back for the Phở.

Kept passing this place on manchester and finally built up the courage to come in! Upon walking in, I was a little iffy at first because the environment was a little plain but very clean. We were greeted and seated promptly after walking in the door. Not many people inside but we came in a little before 2. My brother and I decided to go family style and order a variety of entrees. We ordered the salt and pepper shrimp, crab rangoons, sesame chicken, and chicken phở… all for under $ 40. Everything came out hot and full of flavor. We ate it all and will definitely be back! Definitely a place to stop!
