They brought the food to our table and it was very quick service. Quiet on a Sunday evening. The play area had a few kids playing in it and they seemed to be enjoying themselves. The kids meals we ordered were correct. No complaints, I would eat here again and recommend this McDonald’s.

It’s 230am, it’s been a long night. My girl and I just got done from a long cruise with our old friend Mary Jane. Anyway, after reaching our satisfactory state of cruisin, we realize we haven’t eaten in hours! We check our gps for any restaurants open this late. We pass about 5 other McDonalds, but none are open. After finally deciding to call it quits we suddenly spot some bright lights up ahead. There it was, McDonald’s on Manchester in ballwin, the McDonalds like no other, the ultimate MickeyDs experience one might say. As we pull into McDonalds, we see the face of a man who looks a little too happy for someone to look who works at McDonalds, especially this late at night. Once we pull up to the drive thru we are quickly greeted by a worker who goes by the name of Eric. Let me tell you Eric was a Mcdonalds employee like no other. Something about the way he had with words, I just couldn’t even remember what I was going to order. I quickly glanced at the menu and pulled it together and ordered 2 sausage burritos, mozerella sticks and a large coffee to get me thru the long ride home. He quickly repeated the order back to me just as said it. Once we got up to the window, he quickly brought us our food and struck up some great conversation. It felt like I was talking to a highly experienced barista and once of coolest coffee shops in town, it was so real. After talking for a bit and handing us our food, he went on to tell us about a survey we could take to get a free sandwich! Id take that deal any day of the week. Out of nowhere while we were being told about this wonderful food offer, we hear another mans voice. It was the soon to be manager, Alex. He was very friendly as well and talked about his future with the company. The worker to manager bond between them seemed impeccable. What a breath of fresh air to know that this McDonalds beat the stereotype and hired some workers with such geniality and care for their work. Our food of course was right on the mark. I recommend this McDonalds to everyone and I’m sure everyone else who has come here feels the same! 17 outta 10 from this guy.

In all of my 50 years I’d never eaten inside a Mickey D’s, been through the drive thru but never inside. Anyway I decided it was about time. Since I was getting a little crazy I figured why not really step out of my comfort zone. I planned to order the Quarter Pounder with cheese. You see I’ve always been a Double with cheese kind of guy. Anyway on with the review. As I step inside I notice the plastic seating and laminate tables all positioned with acceptable spacing but leaving little to waste. As I survey the utilitarian dining area it dawns on me these people really know what they’re doing. Clean lines, easily cleaned surfaces, a future utopia if you will. But we are here for the food, right? I stepped to the counter and was promptly greeted by Shondria(a presentable African American woman from Overland, working here part time while going to community college.) Apparently my line of questioning gave her the idea to introduce me to her manager, such a nice young girl. Amrapali(a very business like Indian woman, not one of those casino Indians, more the type you get on customer service calls) asks for my order. Did I say efficient? right to business with this woman. So I ordered the Quarter Pounder combo meal. Amrapali inquires if I would like to upgrade it to a large. Always looking out for the customers interests. With my devil may care attitude this day I accept her challenge and go for the upgrade. The financial agreement is quickly settled and I only have to wait a short time before my food is ceremoniously presented to me on a brown plastic tray! What, no paper bag? Such luxury. Stopping at the condiment kiosk I get catsup/ketchup,(never sure which one is right) and I’m off to the dining room. Surveying the dining area I notice there is a quite entertaining looking indoor playground with what appears to be a young girls birthday party occurring. I found a table right in the midst of the party revelers and felt almost a part of the festivities. As I dug into my feast I noticed a number of the mothers of these young girls were most appreciative of my presence as they continued to glance over on a regular basis. So the Quarter Pounder was everything I had hoped for, the fries top notch as always and the Coke so refreshing. And get this, free refills. Thinking I would work off the calories I decided to join in the playground activities. After 5 minutes in the ball pit I noticed an absence of playmates. It seemed that the mothers wanted their daughters to watch and appreciate my enthusiasm for play. About this time a polite but stern Amrapali informed me that the playground was for children. I mentioned that we are all children at heart but she seemed pretty serious. With that we all agreed that my days adventure must come to an end. I did deduct 1 star for the restraining order I received but otherwise I would highly recommend dining in and taking full advantage of all of the amenities. Seriously, free refills!

June 18… A rare afternoon visit. Great service — a pleasant greeting at the register by Becky… She suggested a smoothie for the warm day… Good idea! She repeated back my order… The food and drinks were served promptly, hot, and as ordered. The lobby was being cleaned. Bathrooms were clean. 7 different groups eating throughout the store. Later, the male manager was as nice with the guests(helping a young child with their order) as Becky. It’s the management! All employees seemed to be busy serving food, preparing food, or cleaning. Great to see! Oooops… too soon for that high rating(yep… was actually at four stars for a bit). That is going to drop significantly… let me explain. As we were getting ready to leave we stopped to ponder the purchase of a couple of sundaes. We waited a few feet behind a couple that stood a step or two away from the counter. Then a young man, an employee, came out from behind the counter, presumably to clean the soda station, and pushed his way past myself and the person I was with. Know this, the person I was with was nearly shoulder to shoulder with me at the time. This employee could have walked in front of us — room there. He could have walked behind me — more room there. He could have walked around behind the large table — nothing but room there. This employee could have said«excuse me» and waited for us to step apart. But NO. This young man(I did not get his name) put his arms at his sides and as he stepped toward us moved his arms outward to move us out of his way. Now he did say with his lisp, «Excuse me.» as he pushed his way past. I didn’t move but the person I was with was moved out of this employee’s way. This type of treatment is ridiculous. I was unable to stay longer to wait for one of the above mentioned managers. The male manager and the female manager from earlier had gone to the back. I noticed another female manager(larger, African American) at the side of the front counter. I have watched this manager take no action in the past to work with the employees. I considered briefly talking with her. But there is no reason to complain to her as she has proven herself to not be helpful a number of times in the past. I left without complaining. —— I returned later in the evening to address this situation with management. Putting a few pieces together it seems that the one(do nothing) female manager was just getting off of work. When the other two managers were coming on duty they must have had this employee actually working. He probably gets away with not doing a lot of work with the one manager. The two managers, mentioned and praised at the top of this review,(although they wouldn’t come out and say anything) seemed to be aware that there were issues with this particular employee. I was able to point out the employee as he was clocking out as I came back into the store. This individual is a newer employee but is not an individual that should be representing a business. Isn’t it amazing how it only took one employee a few seconds to undo what every other employee worked diligently to put together. Two great managers cannot overcome one crappy manager. No amount of training can undo the personal lacking of tact that this employee presented. Time to retrain. All managers need to be on the same page. All of the employees need to understand their job and how they represent a business.

This is by far the worst run Mcdonald’s I have ever been to in my LIFE. The employees in the drive through, specifically the young african american male says not ONE word to you and just blankly stares at you and hands you your food. There is obviously an employee problem here. We’ve been a few times and a few too many, because I am so frustrated with this specific location that I came all the way to Unilocal to review it. No sense in calling the manager because they are sub-par as well. Once we waited in line for 10MINUTES before someone came to the window. We weren’t even acknowledged once but all the employees including the manager were NOT working and laughing and goofing off. We seriously looked at each other and said, «Do they even know there is someone in the drive-thru?» We would have sped off but we had already paid for our food. Today, we went through just to grab a cheeseburger and we waited in line FOREVER. The car in front of us we thought surely ordered a lot of food, but nope. They ordered TWODRINKS. Yes, soda’s. It took Mcdonald’s a good 10 minutes to get these people two soft drinks. Unbelievable. I bet they were pissed and quite frankly I hope others call the general manager because this specific location is the absolute worst, and I’ve been to podonk mcdonald’s in the middle of NOWHERE and received better professionalism than this place.

The service tends to be good. The employees are friendly. The restaurant needs a good cleaning because they never send anyone out to the dining room to clean it. Overall an average McDonald’s. Nothing too spectacular about it.

When I moved to this area, I tried this place several times and everytime I felt like an idiot for going back here. The food is terrible here and the people working the drive through are very below par but hey its McDonalds. I don’t expect Chickfila but showing no care for customers at all is not going to see my hard earned dollars in this economy. Obviously a management and employee quality problem. Try the one that just relocated into their new building just down the road at Clarkson & Manchester. I haven’t had any problems there.

I have a couple of choices for McDonalds on my way to work and I try and use this one whenever possible. It is much better at getting orders correctly, and not giving you an iced coffee with coffee grounds all over the bottom of the cup, and not having you get that dreaded«pull forward and wait for 10 minutes for your muffin and coffee» thing. The Big Bend Rd McDonalds near this one is notorious for both of those.

I love McDonald’s and there are of course quite a few in the area. This one is the best I have been at however as they have the freshest food, nicest seating area, and greatest service. Even when there are problems they are prompt in correcting them and making sure you are happy. I realize it might seem silly to review this but hey it’s my review and I am sticking to it.
