Excellent service and here the customer is always right. They have the best Italian food in town, and personally I would suggest the Pasta con broccoli alla Ryan. Overall the business has great food and even better service. I would love to congratulate the owner Bob who is an amazing guy and their amazing waiter Donald. The wait is never long and they have great hostess’s that are very pleasant to be around

We hit up Candicci’s a week before the Valentine’s Day crush. We’ve been many times but just have not written a review. So here goes. They had an accordion player! How cool is that? He played just loud enough but not to loud was perfect. People were even dancing and that was great fun to see. We had the fried cheese sticks. Perfect breading and not over fried, we ate one each and brought three home.(They microwaved up nicely) The salad was good and very crisp. I am an Italian gravy snob, I dislike sugary gravy. Yes, Candicci’s is a sweet sauce but it’s done better than anyone in St. Louis does, they spice it up and make you forget the sweetness. We had Ravioli and Beef Modega. Pete loved the ravioli and brought some home for lunch. The servings are large as most Italian places are. I had the beef modega, was very tender and yummy. The sauce on top was not overdone and drowning the steak! I will have this again! Cheesecake and coffee finished off our fantastic meal.

Stopped off at candiccis for a bite to eat. Had such a great time! The salad was outstanding, best toasted ravioli in St. Louis! The owner stopped at our table, was so welcoming and made us feel at home. Definitely coming back.

Ordered 2 pizzas for pickup, both were under cooked and one was a thin crust instead of the thick crush I had ordered. Went back to exchange pie and I received another undercooked pie. Being hungry I put in it into the oven to finished cooking it and it melted down. Never again.

They have a good Italion steak but the owner would be better off to stay in the kitchen. He ambled out with our late to arrive, marginal at best, thin perforated(Frozen?) crust pizza Friday night. I told him it was my wife’s birthday and he stated we should join his birhtday club. She stated yes, she had the $ 10 off coupon for dinner and he replied«This is the part you say THANKYOU». Awkward, rude comment. We just had two $ 10 Martini’s, two glasses of $ 9 wine with a large salad, ordered a large pizza and two beers and i should thank him? I threw the left over pizza away. It was really low quality, crust wise. I know good pizza. This is not it. BTY we go there about four times a year, maybe five so we are not«coupon diners». On the other hand the actual service was first rate and the place was festive and busy. Not sure about the live squeezebox dude playing Christmas music. The recorded jazz playing before him was much better. From what i can see the remodeling consisted of badly needed painting. I am not sure people will go there for pizza when Gionino’s gets their spanking new place open.

Great food, ambiance and service. I wish we lived closer so we could go again sooner.

Boy has this place gone down hill since we last visited. Ordered pizza and the waiter wouldn’t write anything down. I knew he wasn’t going to remember our order. Got my toppings wrong as well as gave me provel instead of mozzarella.ugh. Never got my salad.

Good consistent local Italian place near home. Their classic fare is usually good and consistent. The experience when trying some of their more creative dishes has not been as positive. For example, one of their dishes with Balsamic Vinegar was soaked with it rather than an accent and it was inedible. They did exchange the dish for something else, but it clearly was not the best judgement on behalf of the chef. The atmosphere is somewhat retro and could stand to be updated.

I waffled from 2 to 3 stars. The fact that I really wanted to like this place and their friendly staff may account for the 3 vs 2 rating. This is your quintessential St Louis Italian place, but County bland. Nothing wrong with that at all, but I tend to rate based on what is available within the metro area and not what is on offer near by. Bread was brought and was good. No olive oil or Parmesan at the table, but no worries, they bring out a pre mixed plate with that. That doesn’t sit well with me, I’d like to doctor up the dip, but they don’t do a bad job so I was OK with it. Salad arrives. Many people praise the salad. The salad was Iceberg lettuce with the finely diced skin of a grape tomato and finely diced onion wafted in imagination land over the top before adding a half cup of cheese. It just wasn’t my cup of tea. I prefer vibrant salads with exotics like Romaine, actual and not imaginary onions, more than the skin of tomatoes, more veggies than cheese by dry weight etc. I’ve eaten bagged iceberg lettuce from Schnuks that had more of a flavor profile. Zia’s can get away with salads like this if they follow up with on point Midwestern Italian entrees like they do. Speaking of which. My Carbonara Entrée was enormous. Sadly it was also bland. Most places balance the heavy cream and salty prosciutto/bacon with the sweetness of peas or some other ingredient. Candicci’s bucks that trend but replacing sweet with the blandest meat in the world, chicken. The bland cream sauce fought hard and out blanded the chicken leaving the entire dish meh unless you found a forkful of overpowered bacon drowning in the sea of bland. Staff was great and I WOULD go back. I just wouldn’t order a cream based dish and I’d skip the salad.

Not my favorite. Our overall experience was so-so. Service was ok. I had the chicken piccata, which I had to send back. I NEVER send food back but this was just not good. The«sauce» was super clumpy and gelatinous. Also the house salad that comes with it was drenched in dressing and soggy. My husband had a pasta dish with red sauce and said it was ok, but I didn’t think the food quality was worth the price. I will probably not visit again.

Not too many choices out in the burbs so this is a great option. Seems like it’s a locally owned business, great food, at times they get pretty busy especially on the weekends so the service can be slow at times. Overall I’d highly recommend them as a great dinner or lunch option.

I have been to this restaurant once and I will never go back due to the horrible service and mediocre food. I went there with a friend and our server was always very short with us and had no emotion. That’s fine, I guess, if that’s his personality, but the table next to us had about 10 mid-50s customers and he was super friendly and cracking jokes with them. Maybe he thought they would give him a better tip and therefore didn’t give a crap about me and my friend? I don’t know his reasoning, but that was just not good customer service in my opinion. I would expect to be treated the same as all of the other customers, no matter how old I may look.

Always a favorite of ours. As usual, service was prompt and polite. A free appetizer tonight with every two entrees. We had calamari wonderfully fried in a light, golden tempura-like batter, with cream cheese and seafood stuffed mushrooms served very hot in a spicy, melted provel cheese sauce. A loaf of hot bread, with olive oil/parmesan and fresh parsley to dip in. The minestrone soup is to die for. Best ever. Entrees tonight were Beef Soto(tenderloin tips in a white, mushroom and garlic sauce) with pan fried potatoes, Veal Parmesan with a nice house salad, Chicken Jonathan which is a lightly breaded and grilled breast topped with a balsamic vinegar sauce with melted provel, roasted peppers, onions and mushrooms, and Veal Saltimbocca, tender veal with thinly sliced prosciutto, melted provel in a white wine, lemon butter sauce and a touch of fresh sage and shiitake mushrooms. A bottle of Gabbiano chianti to wet the palate. Live music on a Thursday night. Never disappointed.

Candicci’s is our GOTO restaurant. We have ordered most things on the menu and we have never been disappointed. The best house salad in St. Louis in my opinion, the bread and house oil are killer as well. The entrée’s and pastas are also great with big healthy portions. Bob the owner is frequently about the restaurant checking on everyone. There is appropriate live entertainment wed-sun as well.

Very disappointed in the meal we had last night. The waiter was new and not trained well. He was over his head. The 5 tables sitting inside were not being serviced well. No drink refills and no bread served. People could be heard complaining non stop. Orders given to other tables were wrong. Why would you have a brand new waiter closing and getting beat down because he was not trained properly? We ordered cheddar broccoli soup that Was cold with clumps of flower in the soup. And the spoons submerged in the soup. The entrees(1 pizza and a bowl of pasta) then took 50 min to be served. When I asked the waiter the 3rd time for the food and why taking so long he ran and got it. The pasta had a skin over it showing it had been sitting in the window for 15 – 20 min. Bad experience and poorly managed. I predict this place is closed in a year.

This is one of the best Italian places I have ever gone to! I got the fettuccini Alfredo and it was creamy. Although the chicken was a little hard, it was still delicious! My dad got the veal Parmesan and it was was, and I quote«Divine!» My mom got the pepperoni pizza and she said it had a thin crust and had the perfect amount of garlic! The service was quite divine too! Our waiter was very friendly and helpful, so overall we will come here a lot more!

Want a place for breakfast that is really good? And you will be dining almost alone! No one has caught on to Candicci’s Sunday breakfast. Sunday breakfast in breakfast mad West County were few seats are available. Candicci’s is trying to get some of that business. All breakfast options are $ 9.00. Don’t worry you will not be unhappy with the price after the food cames out. I had 3 eggs, sausage links, bacon, potatoes, and homemade toast. Now that is a good price and a lot of food. While my food was really good I have to tell you what Mrs. K. had. She ordered the French Toast with bacon strips. I will say it was the best French Toast I or Mrs. K. ever had. It was made out of Italian bread. I wish I had the words but it was just amazing. Crisp on the first bite then turning to wonderful bread taste as you continue through your first bite. Try it you will like it.

The salad was great. The sirloin was cooked the way I like it and the service was very nice and helpful.
