Just wonderful, home style food and hospitality at a reasonable price. Loved it. I didn’t have to wait, I got to sit where I wanted. The sandwich on croissant was innovative but just what you might expect, delicious! Cake for dessert was tops.

Fabulous place! The prices are so inexpensive and the food and experience was like going to visit your favorite aunt for a home-cooked breakfast. I think their pancakes are among the best tasting in the area!!! I also got the breakfast sandwich on a croissant, with a side of potatoes, which was very good. Staff was very friendly. It was very busy on a Sunday, but worth the wait! A great local spot!

Definitely one of the most peculiar dining experiences I’ve ever had. When we walked in, they were friendly and welcoming, although we were a bit confused from the get-go. You go in the front door and there is no indication of whether you should just grab a table or if someone is supposed to seat you. We walked back until we saw someone and she directed us to a table. It wasn’t too long before a server came around and took our order(we were quick because we both wanted the special), and it wasn’t too long after that before the food and drinks came out. Relatively pleasant so far. That was pretty much the end of our interaction with the staff. No checking up on us, not a single coffee refill, nothing. This is not one of those reviews where you are not getting both sides of some weird story like I omitted the fact that I pooped on the floor or something. there was just nothing going on. Staff members walked past our table almost constantly, studiously avoiding making eye contact with us. It was if they wanted us to leave… but we spent a good 15 minutes awkwardly sitting there with empty plates and cups waiting for a check. Again, maybe there was some«system» we were not aware of, but at least someone could clue us in. I finally flagged down a harried-looking server(oh, that was our server – she acted like she’d never seen me before) and asked for a check, which she practically threw at me and then told me to pay at the cash register. She proceeded to walk over to the cash register and then act like it was fancy meeting me there, and that she hadn’t just thrown a check in my face. I’ve rarely been as close to leaving zero tip as I was that morning, but I was still too confused about what was going on to react properly. I guess the food was OK but I wouldn’t tell anyone I liked to go here.

There are few places in Baldwinsville for breakfast, so this is my «go-to». Staff are friendly and you’re likely to run into friends. Food is consistently good and fresh. I usually order the Eggs Florentine, which is on the healthy side. The Healthy Hobo, a wrap with eggs, potatoes, onions and peppers is great. Try their specials, my favorite being the home made corned beef hash, enough to feed two. Beats the diner any day. They also serve lunch during the week.

Great location, friendly staff, amazing coffee and breakfast. Make a special trip there every time I’m in town. Staff was very accommodating with requests for changes to the orders. Can’t wait to go back.

The Canal Walk Café is one of my two favorite breakfast places. The staff is charming and friendly, their breakfast specials are delicious and their eggs are always cooked perfectly. They have a homemade multi-grain bread as an option for toast and my mother loves that they have a selection of flavored creamers for guests to use. Food is always delivered quickly, but be prepared to wait a couple minutes for your check. They get pretty busy. And if you take up half of a larger table, other people probably will join you. I think that is part of the charm of the place. There is also a bunch of art and goods for sale on the walls, so if you see a drawing, painting, quilted piece or mixing spoon doll on the wall that catches your eye, chances are it can be yours. The owner is almost always there and very involved in day to day operations, and if there is a problem, they go above and beyond to fix it, oftentimes before you even realize it is an issue. For example, they once had a new cook on who they thought might have overcooked my eggs. They delivered my meal to the table with everyone else’s, then a minute or two later delivered another two eggs cooked to make up for the mistake(which, honestly, I never would have noticed even though I am super picky about eggs). Breakfasts are served with a slice of orange and a side of jam for toast, which I always feel bad for not using. This place is well worth the short drive from Syracuse and they have patio seating in the summer. Sometimes parking is tight so carpool if you can. Head to Beaver Lake afterwards to work off your delicious breakfast!

Nothing Special in terms of the food. Pretty underwhelming to be honest. Fast service. Way overrated on Unilocal.Parking is hard to come by, but it’s in a cute location. Small.

This place is my go-to when I have friends or family in town and we need a good breakfast place. Its atmosphere is homey. The food is good. The servers are friendly. I love the mismatched dish ware. On a weekend morning, expect to wait on the couches near the back for a bit. There’s nothing particularly special about the food, other than that it’s solidly good breakfast food. They are decently accommodating for food allergies — I went with someone who was gluten free, and they told him that although they don’t have gluten free bread, any time he visits he is welcome to bring his own for them to use to make him breakfast. Last time I checked, though, they didn’t offer soy milk or almond milk for coffee, which was a major bummer. Clean, convenient, consistently good.

Cozy atmosphere, great food, and perfect portions! Canal Walk is a very friendly atmosphere; between the decorations and the staff you are sure to feel right at home. Great for a weekend brunch!

Where everybody knows your name… first of all– we are offered a piping cup of coffee while we wait every time we go. Now that we are regulars, we are invited to grab it ourselves! This place is the definition of comfort. The food is served promptly and hot. My favorite option there is the Bruschetta Omelette – bacon, basil, mozz and red onion. I love how they offer you the option for a half order of the french toast in case you don’t have that large of an appetite. You have a choice between regular coffee and an amazing organic option called Versailles. The service is top notch and super friendly.

Love it. You will not be disappointed. We are regulars for breakfast. Great wait staff and excellent service. Food is absolutely delicious. They have specials every weekend and tend to have the same every weekend of the month. Our favorite happens to be the Corned-beef hash and Sausage & gravy over biscuits. Great atmosphere!

They have no gluten free options for lunch. Their soup was really good, and homemade. If I didn’t have dietary restrictions I would head back there, but they don’t have anything really for me to eat. It’s too bad because this is the type of place that you can tell excels at great homestyle food!

Canal walk is a must for breakfast! Menu is consistently good and always delicious. Their multigrain toast is amazing! For breakfast this meaning my coffee cup was never less than half full and my eggs florentine came out in style– a ton of fresh spinach, grated Parmesan and perfectly poached eggs. I would definitely recommend trying lunch too– the specials are always fresh and different. And of course you can’t beat the price!

LOVELOVELOVE! I work in Baldwinsville and this is such a great lunch spot. Their food is so flavorful and the ambiance of the café is fantastic. Their black & blue chicken is sooooo good and especially in a wrap and their soups are homemade and worth adding it to your meal. They are a bit more expensive than most cafes but completely worth it!

What a lovely experience! We are always in search of the freshest breakfast(fresh ingredients versus frozen food). We visited Baldwinsville and stayed at the Red Mill Inn. We walked across the street for a pleasant surprise – a cute, homey environment with great service and high-quality, homemade food. Delicious!
