Been going here since March and I haven’t been disappointed… Not every stylist can manage Natural hair… I love coming here because Ananoda handles your hair with perfect care. she takes her time and is versatile when it comes to all hair types… I usually come and get a wash and press that I love and now I wanted to try something a little different and got Crochet faux locs… Now I have my sister coming with me and I will continue to spread the news about this Gem :-)…

Omg please get down to this salon ASAP. What a wonderful experience, Ananoda Clark was the hair stylist that took care of me and my sister. She is awesome, if I could give this salon 10 stars I would. The owner Stacey and her staff true professionals and very knowledgable about hair, hair styles products, etc. I left my hair stylist that I had for over 5 years and took a step out on faith and found this place. I’m glad I did, Stacey and her stylists are a blessing. It was worth every penny. Highly recommended and I traveled all the way from Brentwood, NY and my sister from Harlem, NY to come here. Run don’t walk to the Stacey Ciceron Hair Salon!!!

I had been on you tube trying to navigate my way through my natural hair journey. My hair wasn’t flourishing the way it should. I decided to go on a quest to find a stylist. The curls needed a little TLC. After relentless Web surfing I found salons in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens but very few on Long Island. After venting to a friend of mine she told me about this salon right here on Long Island. Great! I’m not looking to pay tolls and extra car fare. I’ve been coming here for 4 months. I can’t express in words how pleased I am. I waited to write my review so that I could make sure there was consistency in service. Natashia Jere has NOT disappointed! She doesn’t just style my hair; she nurtures my curls. I’ve been so happy that every time I come in I try a new style. She is more than accomodating on my quest for a new ‘do’. The staff is super friendly. I felt at home after my very 1st visit. I have natural hair but I’ve seen her care for all types of hair. She is very versatile. I highly recommend. When was the last time your stylist took the time to consult with you about your hair goals? You’ll get that A1 treatment here. Skip the $ 20 wash and set and take great care of the coif. You won’t regret.

I decided to give this place a try based on Unilocal reviews. Making an appointment here could not be easier, you can make it online and have text alerts for your appointment. I had scheduled a Saturday morning appointment. There was a bit of a conflict of scheduling as my stylist was not in for the day but Natashia(the salon manager and stylist) could not have been more helpful or apologetic. I was immediately seen for a consultation by Natashia. I had my hair washed, blown out, styled and cut that day. I’m loving the results! and the products she used. This place is really about healthy hair and that’s rare. It was a bit pricey to me but really you get what you pay for and more. This is your place if your looking for professional stylists in the area who really care about your hair.

I recently moved into the neighborhood and decided to give this place a try based on Unilocal reviews. I am so grateful I did. As soon as I walked into the salon, I knew that I would love it. Everyone is very warm, welcoming, and professional. My stylist(Natashia) and I discussed my hair goals, and I am confident that with her expertise that I will reach those goals. My relaxer and designer cut were gorgeous, and I am looking forward to being a regular customer. If you’re looking for a beautiful, professional salon with talent stylists that care about the look and health of your hair — this is it!

Visited this salon last Saturday and was immediately seen for a consultation by the friendly and professional staff. They were able to fit me in for a 1pm appointment on a Saturday afternoon which is a huge plus! My hair was cut and styled by Natasha who was friendly and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain her process and also how to care for my new look — a tapered fro. All salon staff were pleasant — offered water and ensured I was comfortable. I was in an out in about 2 – 3 hours which is nearly impossible on a Saturday. The prices were reasonable and the location accessible. I’d recommend to a friend and will definitely return.

I had a great experience with Natashia. I originally came to get a natural blow out. I like my hair straight so regularly get it blown out and straightened. I recently got it colored and didn’t realize how damaged it was. I have gone to other salons on Long island where no one really talks to you about your hair, it is a quick blow out and go. After taking down my crochet braids I expected the same experience. However I was pleasantly surprised. Rather than start treating my hair without any knowledge of it, she gave me a detailed questionnaire. There was even emergency contact information! Most stylists I have dealt with only ask what I want done, not about what my hair needs, my hair health and history. I also share Alicia’s experience about detangling in the sink, which didn’t hurt at all. Natashia was very real. My hair needed a change! It was damaged and ultimately needed to be cut down or styled without heat. This was hard to hear(I always wear my hair straight in a blow out) but rather than give me the style I asked for and have me leave unhappy and more damaged, she let me know my options and showed real care and concern with my hair. She was also very patient and knowledgeable with me, but didn’t pressure me into a decision. I ultimately ended up getting a relaxer(after 3 years with no chemicals I thought a relaxer was the devil, but she explained that it doesn’t damage your hair it is all about how you take care of it) and couldn’t be happier. Though it is a long drive for me I will be heading out to this salon again. I didn’t want to travel into the city for a salon, so I was thankful to find a salon on the island I can drive to. My hair feels and looks good. My tips would be to go to the salon for the experience of course and to park in the back lot of the library(it is hard to spot the salon while driving if you aren’t familiar with it). It was slightly more than I was used to paying at the Dominican salons, however it was worth it. They also have a great reward system, so if you regularly go and/refer you can earn money off a service.

Figuring out which salons know how to manage, care for, and style natural hair is not easy at all. Often, if a salon isn’t brazenly advertising their specialty in natural hair, you don’t really know except through hearsay. I found The Stacey Ciceron Studio through Shea Moisture’s instagram. They had been doing a shoot with a Shea Moisture model and when I saw that this salon was in 20 minutes away from me, I lifted my hands in praise to the hair goddesses. The Stacy Cicerone Studio is located in Baldwin, NY. I’ve been searching for a dedicated natural hair salon in Queens/Long Island for as long as I’ve been natural. It’s near impossible to search«natural hair salon» on Unilocal because natural hair can mean anything, from natural hair color, braiders, etc. Salon owners, get your tag game up! This salon was easy to drive to and I got a parking spot right out front. You can also reach it by LIRR or MTA bus. I was only a few minutes late to my appointment, but be advised that if you’re 30 minutes late, you will get your appointment rescheduled. I was greeted by Ashley(@MzFashionKulture), who handed me a brief questionnaire about my hair(Previously relaxed? Porosity, length, etc.) and then Natashia(@NatashiaJere), the senior stylist went to work. I had just took my hair out of my box braids and so it hadn’t been detangled in a few weeks. To my pleasant surprise, she didn’t try to detangle my hair before washing it in the bowl. I’m quite tender-headed and that step always annoys me. The Studio seems to use the everyday natural hair salon products rather than those special for-salon products that us normal people can’t find anywhere. For my hair, she used a combination of Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil(JBCO) products and Jane Carter. The JBCO line is my absolute favorite right now so I was so excited. She started off by washing my hair with the JBCO shampoo, which contains a little apple cider vinegar(ACV) to gently lift the dirt of the hair. I hadn’t tried the shampoo before then but it was an aromatherapeutic experience. Next, she conditioned with Jane Carter’s Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner and sat me down in her station to detangle. I was impressed because 1) I’ve never seen a stylist finger-detangle while also using the wide tooth comb and 2) it was virtually painless and took her about 15 – 20 minutes to do. She then rinsed out my hair and put JBCO leave-in, sealed with some oil. I wanted to get a flexirod set, to stretch my hair a bit and give it some bounce. Natashia recommended that I also do a two strand twist to give it a little more definition and make it last longer. She used Nairobi Wrapp-It Shine Foaming Lotion to set the hair, twisted each section and added grey flexirods all around. I sat under the dryer for two, tortuous hours(ahh!) because both the style and my hair take a very long time to dry. After taking my hair off the rods, she suggested I leave the twists in for a day to let the style set. I wasn’t really comfortable with wearing these coily twists outside and told her I was going to put a hat on. Natashia wasn’t having that and hooked me up with a gorgeous updo until I was ready to take my hair down. I’ve never worn my hair like this before but I loved it. I instantly went from«pass me my beanie hat» hair to «let’s take a selfie!» hair. The Salon has a designated«selfie wall» where all the happy client photoshoots take place. The staff definitely has fun in there but still get business done, and done right. As I was in the salon, I noticed the instagram kept updating in real time(there’s a photo of me in the back ground with slight bantu knots if you know where to look). The service(wash, detangle, style) all came up to $ 65. If you go to visit, tell them Alicia sent you and you can get a first time welcome discount. Plus, they have a rewards program to build points and save money on future visits! I would definitely recommend them!

Stacey is a very talented stylist. What I love the most is that she is dedicated to the health of her client’s hair and is all about customizing an experience for each individual. I have been going to Stacey since 2001 and I feel like I am getting a fresh experience each time that I go. Stacey and her team are talented and their professionalism is refreshing! If you want a salon that continues to stay on trend with the latest styles, products and styling techniques — this is the salon for you.

I had an ideal experience with Natashia. Upon arrival, the salon space is beautiful, stylish and perfectly clean. Natashia consulted with me and answered every question. If I were the type of client who doesn’t want to ask how and why, but instead just sit back and enjoy in the hands of a real expert, she would be perfect for that too! She has a warm, confident personality, and she was fun to work with. My cut looks gorgeous, and they use great products. It smelled beautiful and was soft and shiny. Prices were reasonable, and the entire service was custom all the way. It’s my new go-to place.
