This used to be my go to pizza place. I guess they recently changed ownership. The people answering the phone struggle to understand my order, and have gotten it wrong the past 3 times. The food is not as good as it used to be. I guess I have to find a new place.

OMG love this place! They opened maybe two weeks ago and the people who work there are super nice. They have this buffalo pizza which is to die for! Everything is made fresh which is something I can appreciate in a good pizza.

They hired a new girl who doesn’t speak English very well. She constantly screws up orders and delivery addresses. I won’t order food from this place again as long as she works there. I’m sick of my food not showing up.

I needed a new pizza restaurant that had a good pie and GOODSERVICE and Amore Mio fit the bill. I had the best cheese slice I’ve had in awhile here and it has a nice, calm atmosphere.

So Good!!! My favorite pizza place since moving to the area! They are always friendly and prompt with my order. The sauce is so flavorful and the crust is not too thick. I actually like it better than Gaby’s in Queens.

Their regular pizza is barely acceptable. That means Their sicilian slice is thick, all dough, barely any cheese, barely any sauce, this is not acceptable. The wings are a joke. To the point it’s offensive and insulting. The actual wing itself was poor quality, a few of the wings weren’t even wings, but just knobs. The buffalo sauce… if you can call it that… has barely any flavor to speak of and is so thin it doesn’t coat the wings it just lays on the bottom of the plate. And speaking of thin, their blue cheese dressing is unlike anything I’ve seen before. The consistency and thickness is slightly thicker than milk. Dip your wing all you want, it won’t stick, just runs right off. All the better anyway since it tastes like complete garbage. This menu item says to me the owners don’t care about their food, and more importantly, their customers, in any way, shape, or form. For them it’s about making a dollar. I would be embarrassed and ashamed to serve this or call it my own. The fried calamari was lazy. Plain flour. No seasoning. Not even salt and pepper??? No. Nothing. Just plain flour and not even fried well enough. You ever see a menu that describes a fried item as fried until pale-ish yellow? Me neither. Lazy. Veal parm dinner with spaghetti. Hey, thanks for the complimentary hero roll I got with the dish, but I’d rather you keep the roll and give me some more sauce on the spaghetti. My dish was a few nice sized veal parm cutlets on a decently portioned bed of spaghetti, but outside of a few bites it was too dry. Flavor wise it was acceptable for this type of place I suppose. All in all, this place was very obviously opened to make a few bucks. No love or passion, no care or pride about putting forth a good product, just keep the budget down as much as possible and try to maximize profits. Such is the way of most places these days.

Ive been here about 3 – 4 times now. Their pizza is ok. Nothing special. Its not a bad slice but not one I’d rave about either. I’ve tried some of their specialty slices too. They aren’t too bad. Decent food…

The regular slices are big, but nothing special, and the red sauce is bland which makes their pasta and chicken rolls mediocre, but they have by far the best stuffed buffalo chicken slice in a 5 town radius. I highly recommend everyone go there for the sole purpose of trying the stuffed buffalo chicken slice, it’s worth passing the 10 other pizza places on the way. If you happen to get it fresh out of the oven, you’ll never order it anywhere else ever again. I would give 3 stars at best without this slice, but they get 4 stars just because they have it.

Amore Mio Restaurant is a shopping center eatery located between Best Buy, CVS and Apple Bees. Overall the food is average. Its nothing I would go out of my way to go to, but while I’m in the shopping center anyway, the car is already parked and I’ll be walking by the door on my way to another store … sure I’ll stop in a get a slice of pizza. The good is good for a shopping center. The pizza is average. If your out doing errands and in the area, go check them out.

Ahhh, Amore Mio! This is the pizza place in my hometown. I’ve been eating here since the days of I’m In a Hurry Pizza. Okay, so it’s not the best pizza ever. But in my hometown, other than my Grandma’s home cooking, this was in a way a source of comfort food for me. And if I happen to be hungry en route to or from NYC via the LIRR, then I most certainly stopped here. Recently I had grabbed lunch with my brother at Lazzara’s Pizza in Midtown. We hopped on the LIRR back to Baldwin to take our Dad out for a surprise dinner for his birthday. His choice? Amore Mio! My brother and I happily ate more pizza that night. Good thing they check only blood-alcohol levels. If they checked blood-mozzarella levels, I was drunk for sure.

This place is right next to the train station, it’s the perfect place to grab a slice before getting on a train into NYC. The slices are HUGE. Some of the biggest slices of pizza I’ve seen. AND… they’re tasty. I haven’t had anything else here, but the pizza is good, it’s fast, and it’s filling.

Tried this place after getting out of the doctors office today. As one of the previous posters mentioned their pie crust is amazingly thin but super crispy at the same time which was a pleasant surprise, even after getting reheated. Got 2 slices which came to $ 4.50 then I realized I could have gotten the lunch special for $ 5 so when I asked if I could upgrade to that he said don’t worry about it when I offered to pay the .50 up-charge… Things like that go a long way and for that I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area again. Good pizza too by the way.

Had to try the whole wheat pizza when I saw a sign in the window about a year or so ago. It was the best whole wheat pizza I’ve had — fresh Mozzarella, Basil and the sauce is delicious. We would stop in for a slice and have brought pies to peoples houses and they were quite impressed. They even delivered to Rockville Centre when we ordered baked clams with a whole wheat pie. Loved it until the new management took over earlier this year. The pizza isn’t as good, the sauce has gotten better than when they first took over but we ordered a whole wheat pie and baked clams again today for pick up. I wish we would have looked at the food before we left. The clams no longer have the yummy lemon/wine/butter sauce or any clams for that matter — it was a breadcrumb stuffed clamshell. I took apart one of them by hand to find clams and found 2 tiny minced pieces — totally not worth the money we paid for them and the pie looked like a 5 year old made it. The sauce wasn’t spread evenly, it was poured in the middle and didn’t go to the edge of the crust, there was no fresh basil and the cheese was scarce and completely swamped by the sauce. We wasted $ 30.

I just ordered pizza delivered, so I can’t speak about the ambience or the hosts. But the pizza was a delightful surprise — they know the secret of thin, crispy crust that can somehow support the weight of ingredients, and the list of toppings is better than most. Great to have such good pizza in my town!

Amore Mio located where I’m In A Hurry Pizza stood for many years. I had to check them out after living in Baldwin 2 times 10 years apart to try the new guy. They offer the 5.00 lunch with many choices, including wraps and salads. I had the chicken wrap. It was stuffed with moist Chicken Breast. Another time I took a Whole Wheat Pizza Pie home. That was just delish with fresh Mozzarella and sauce. Amore Mio will have a new neighbor in a few weeks Best Buy is moving in the shopping center. Oh the line I’ll be on for a fresh hard to find Wheat Pie.

You will find Amore Mio in a rather un-assuming location — in a strip mall, just off of Sunrise Highway and Grand Avenue — it has about a dozen tables all with linens during the dinner rush. VERY family(and kid), friendly. Best atmosphere you will find in a restaurant of this class. Very friendly, warm and inviting in both the atmosphere, food and the owners themselves, it is the type of place you go into to get a slice of pizza and spend an hour(or more), hanging out as you feel right at home talking to Joe and Laura(the owners), and watching the latest sporting events on their wall-hung flat-panel TV. The pizza is very nice(try the Grandma Pizza), but the other pizza’s are wonderful too. For dinner, I highly recommend the Fettucini Alfredo with Chicken, the ravioli in vodka sauce, or any of the numerous hero’s — amongst the many other main course selections(including wonderful buffalo wings.) They also have daily blackboard specials — several of which I have tried. They also recently added a limited selection desserts to the menu. And to top it off, they are VERY involved in supporting the Baldwin community and it’s residents.
