Highly recommend this place. The food is really good. But I’m really here to put a SHOUTOUT to Ivan… he did me justice. There was a misunderstanding when my coworker placed an order and he went above and beyond to replace my order. I’ve already been enjoying this food but this experience was the topper. Thank you all at El Appetiz !!!

Cajun Jambalaya Portion Size: Terrific Price= Portion Size Meat= 10⁄10 Con: Honestly I love how creamy the sauce is on the jambalaya but it’s missing a LOT of flavor Hopefully they’re able to add more flavor next time

Been coming here for awhile and everything is great. The owner is a chef trained in Italy. The bread they make for sandwiches, pizza and dinner rolls is very unique and worth coming here. Love the pasta salad and sandwiches a lot. You will not be disappointed.

Not a good impression so far in regards to appearance. I was given a menu at sit down where when you open it, the menu was dirty with food. Bad first impression Their outdoor patio not that impressive as well. You would think they would hire a co to pressure wash their concrete to give a better presentation In addition to a ice sore, was the soda machine cooler placed outside as a salvage yard. The clutter doesn’t help. Made me feel cluster phobic. I must be having a bad day because even the vinyl table matts are filthy!

The Blackened Salmon salad was quite tasty. Food is very, very good. Service is excellent! Could have been a little more fish in the salad. I would definitely come back if I lived in the area. Thanks for the great hospitality.

My friend found this in her salad. How careless on their part. A potato peeler??? Nothing in her salad even needed to be peeled! This is so gross. So nasty. When she told me about it I didn’t believe it but then she showed me and I was completely turned off.

My wife and went for lunch on a 107 deg day! I had the smaller Greek salad w/chicken. My wife had the spinach salad w/salmon. It took about 30 minutes to come. My salad was good my wife’s order showed up with chicken instead of salmon. The waiter said they ran out of salmon. but he did not tell us so we were not able to change to what she may have wanted. It is an older, non-descript hole in the wall but clean and the air con was bearable. Service was courteous tho slow bc only one waiter. I probably would get the larger salad next time and either take it home or split it. A nice roll came with the salad but we were trying to stay away from glutens. We were on the way back from Kaiser Baldwin Park and would probably cautiously return again. Bob H.

omfg, i really liked this place… An Italian joint in the middle of Tijuana, ahem, i mean Baldwin Park, owned and operated by Jose(Peruvian)… what the heck can go wrong? Background: Jose is a unique individual with fun stories. Jose is Peruvian, but spent 4 or 6 years in culinary school and apprenticeship in Italy to provide us with an almost Peruvian/South American/Latin with Italian Fusion/Hybrid~!!! What can go wrong? at least with the food, ya know… Jumbalaya… At first, i was like… hmmmn… but dude… chicken and shrimp pasta with some pesto/saracha style sauce… Okay, that is not what the description says, but that is what it looks like. Folks, this is not Creole Jamabalaya although that sounds damn good right now! Appetiz Jimbi was not spicy. Maybe it is for some, but for me, it was more pesto creamy with some spice hence the saracha reference… I really liked this. House Bread or whatever the hell it was… damn that was good. First of all, who gives buttered rolls out at Italian places??? I am sure some do, but i have only eaten at places with breadsticks, sourdough or garlic bread, not hot, fresh, warm, soft, buttery rolls =D =D =D =D #score Salad… My guest or I was the guest so what would the person who brought me here be called? Either way, homie ordered a salad. I forgot the name but that shit was huge. I was messing with the salad by pressing it down with my hand to see the true size, just kidding, i did not do that but i used my fork to see if the size is just cosmetics. It was not, the sucker was filled with«stuff,» and the sauce was not too sweet. A bit vinegarettey for me but a nice salad… Sadly, they ran out of crème brûlée where we started hounding Jose a bit about that… Rather than socialize with patrons, maybe you should go make your famous crème brûlée~!!! ahhh i wanted to munch on that after all the hype it received from my «English is my 2nd language puto» compadre.(^^) Value seemed typical to medium/casual Ciba Italiana Joint… $ 30 for: 1. Salad 2. Jambalaya 3. Six pcs of house bread 4. Glass of vino(pinkyyy out) 5. 6 cups of ice cold diet coke, yeah i was parched for some reason. 6. Tax(booo). Patio accessible from the inside of the joint is bitching. I really liked the privacy and seclusion of it. The inside décor, at least floor and furniture can use upgrade. Definitely making the outside more presentable would be wise, but then Tijuana would lose it’s cultural ethos… Wait, damnit, i meant Baldwin Park. Tax TIp: Employers have until January 31 to give you your W2s, 1099s and all that tax crap… If employers fail(with irrefutable proof), then employers can get penalized between $ 20 — $ 50 per employee with max penalties ranging from $ 25,000(small business) to $ 100,000(big corporations). If employer does not purposely provide a W2, the penalty increases to $ 100 flat per with no ceiling. You can demand your documents and report this infraction to the IRS. Typically, if the IRS finds out, the employer complies real quick.

They have amazing food here. I’ve had many of their salads, couple of their pastas, several of their sandwiches and pizza. All were excellent. Their bread is amazing, so soft and delicious with no need to add extra butter. I highly recommend this place. My coworkers and I come here often. Thankfully it is very close to work. The owner is the friendliest and cutest man ever. I love this place!

This restaurant is located in a very small and awkward area. In the city of Baldwin Park, I would have never found this place unless someone had introduced me to it. However, I am glad because I do enjoy their sandwiches here and the prices are very affordable! For less than $ 7, you get an awesome sandwich and either a cold pasta salad, caesar salad, or soup. Any order also comes with a side of bread(this is amazing… it just melts in your mouth, real fresh!). I’ve had a couple of their sandwiches… and I have to say that you can’t go wrong with any of them. I won’t have to rate the ones I’ve tried because it’s almost all the same just different ingredients in each. If I had to choose a favorite, I enjoyed the Blacken Chicken Sandwich. I typically opt the for chicken tortilla soup, it’s one of the best chicken tortilla soups I’ve had. Here, it tastes pretty fresh… something you’d get at home. They offer more than just sandwiches, but I haven’t had the chance to try. The restaurant itself is really small, probably a total of 10 tables. You have an option to sit inside or outside. The place is pretty clean… but has very outdated furniture. Also, it’s pretty dark inside. The service is awesome here! The food comes out quick, the waiters always stopped by to check on you and refill our waters. If you come here during the lunch hour, it’s surprisingly packed. This surprised me because the location is very remote. Overall, I highly recommend this place in you’re in the area. I don’t think its an authentic Italian place, but they have good food at great prices!
