I have been to the honeygrow in Center City and also this one on City Line. The concept is good, but the execution always seems to be off. In past visits, the food took too long(15 – 20 min) to be ready and they frequently messed up the order. One time, they forgot to include an item, and by the time I realized when I got back to the office, it was too late to go back. This time, the order came out in reasonable time. It was later at night with not many customers before me. I ordered a shrimp stir fry with curry sauce and a salad. The noodle-to-veggie/protein portioning was way off. Basically it was 99% rice noodles. There were 5 or 6 small shrimp and just a few pieces of veggies. It seems they rely on the sauce to flavor everything, as the shrimp and veggies doesn’t seem to have any flavoring of its own. It seems the overall food quality it not where it once was at honeygrow. It’s a decent option for a quick bite, but not if it’s not quick.

Hands down the food here is good and pretty healthy. But it can get a little annoying when you get back to work, sit down to eat your lunch and they have messed up your order. I have been to this location multiple times and each time I pick either a salad or stir fry that they offer and make no changes. Yet on multiple occasions i go to dig in and the order is wrong. Just they other day they completely left the chicken out of the stir fry i picked. Like come on. It gets crazy in here once 12 hits for lunchtime so get there a little earlier than 12 and its not as bad. Some days you can wait a good 15 – 20 minutes at the peak of lunch hour. The parking lot in front of the store is a nightmare, very small area and gets congested quickly with people looking to park. There are more parking spaces available in the rear of the building you just have to walk around to the front entrance(there is a sidewalk area).

I have been a huge honeygrow fan for a few years now, but I’m struggling to like them as much as I did in the past. Service is good, food is good, but this new menu has got to go. They took away my favorite salad dressing(citrus basil caeser), my favorite salad topping(candied cashews), and my favorite stir fry sauce(lemon miso). I am also gluten free and they took away in my opinion the only good gluten free sauce on the menu, without adding another one. I love honeygrow, but I hate this new menu.

I’ve only been here twice, both times the food was awesome but the first time my machine broke mid-order and the second time I waited almost 25 minutes for my boyfriends stir fry that was sitting on the counter the whole time… That was annoying especially because I asked twice how much longer it would take and both times I was told a couple more minutes… Not cool. Overall — the food is really good and I feel you get your money’s worth! Just wish the system was a little different…

I struggled with how to rate honeygrow because I honestly do love it but the amount of times they mess up my order is a little to much for my liking. Most of the time I order a salad and about half the time it’s completely right. One time they totally forgot my dressing altogether! Recently, they’ve made some changes to their menu(most exciting for me is the addition of goat cheese!) and a new dressing that I can’t get enough of(honey ginger). All in all, I’d recommend honeygrow because the food is tasty and healthy but just double check your order before you walk out and make sure they’ve given you everything you’ve paid for(it ain’t cheap!). Oh and also, if you’re in a rush for lunch, forget it. If you get there anytime between 12 – 2, you can guarantee a wait time of at least 20 minutes for a salad and even longer for a stir fry. They do offer the option to call in your order for pick up, so I would definitely recommend doing that if you don’t want to wait.

Its a good healthy fix but this place is mobbed literally all day… everyday. Other than that the employees are super sweet and nice. I am in and out pretty quick so I wouldn’t be able to tell you how it is to dine in. Love their salads but not a huge fan of the stir fry. They need to expand their menu a little bit. Explore more sauces and combinations.

Enough. Just can’t come here anymore. Forth time I’ve order to-go and get home and I’m missing extras added. Last week was the worst of all. Not one of the 6 added extras were in my stirfry plus my spicy chicken had about 6 small pieces of chicken and 2 pieces of bell pepper. Even worst, my wife’s stirfry was so messed up she threw it out. I’m not sure what they put in hers but it tasted bad. If I was closer I would have driven back. Anyway, like most people, I love the concept and freshness but they consistently fail at execution. Employees mostly seem nice but they need to be trained to focus on creating meals as order. Till then, bye bye Honeygrow.

Raman has more flavor! I don’t know what it is but when it comes to the coco curry dressing, the cooking staff is so tight. I’ve never had more dryer, tasteless boring noodles in my life. ½ star for stir-fry, 3 stars for honey bar.

We were first timers during the busy lunch rush on Saturday. I thought that the restaurant was properly staffed to handle this time of day and we got our food much quicker than I imagined. I liked the touch screen ordering and customization. I ordered the spicy garlic stir fry, which was tasty and spicy(yay!), but I felt like it was mostly noodles and I didn’t get much chicken or veg at all. I wonder if you can customize it to have no noodles(I didn’t really want them anyway), but I didn’t explore that option at the time. I will try to do that next time or order a salad instead. We really enjoyed the honey fruit bar. Thought it was pricy but the fruit was top notch fresh and I loved the shredded coconut option… Now I have something new to try at home. I will definitely be back when I’m in the mood for healthy fast food.

I really like HoneyGrow and I think it’s whole concept is awesome but the service is not good. There’s always a friendly greeter and most of the workers are nice. Getting exactly what you ordered is a hit or miss though. I was just in there and 3 more people were bringing their stir fry back cause things were missing and lo and behold when I got mine half my things were missing… Cmon HoneyGrow train better pay better just do something cause I’m really tryna keep you as one if my favorite spots in the Philadelphia area. **UPDATE**Got home ready to eat and not only did they add all the things in that they left in the first order but they added meat… I never ordered any meat… I don’t eat meat!!! Wow HoneyGrow YOUSUCK.

Not very fresh. Sort of eh salads and stir fry. Not the worst lunch option if you want something quick and not fast food but I’d hope there’d be better options for healthy and fresh. A bit pricey too for what you get. A disappointment overall.

I was much less impressed than I expected :/ The whole concept here is great! Fresh, healthy(depending on what you yourself choose as well), and fun! The wait staff was extremely friendly and even brought out four sauces for my friend and I to try before choosing our meals. They joked around with us as well which is always appreciated however, overall I found the meal very lackluster. The sauce was delicious when I tried it, but not strong in the actual meal. I suppose more would have helped, or less noodles. I was also craving more veggies in my bowl. The honey bar idea is also very cute(unless you assume it comes with yogurt so you don’t actually get it as a «topping» and end up with a bowl of toppings… Obviously my fault there). And I found the place fairly pricey as well. I would try it out again but maybe go a different route is all.

Everything is so delicious!!! Love the way you order on computer. The Honey Bar is awesome! We get it different every time but always get the yogurt & whipped cream.

I went to dinner at honeygrow on a friday evening for the first time. it was my first time so I was unsure how the ordering system works. The staff there were very friendly and even let my friends and I try the different sauces for the stir fry. The food was also very good. It tasted fresh and flavoring was good. Would definitely recommend and come here again.

I love coming here and creating my own stir fry with the freshest ingredients. You can also create your own smoothie full of vitamins for a nice pick me up. Nice spot when you want to steer away from fast food.

I enjoy coming to Honeygrow for a few reasons. The food here is consistantly delicious and the ingredients always fresh. This location is very clean and modern. The ordering is fast due to the touch screen menu and that you can swipe your card to pay for your food at the screen. The orders take about 5 – 10 mins so it’s somewhere you can realistically go on your lunch break without being late back to work. Delicious flavorful food with portion sizes that will not leave you hungry after you leave. I would recommend coming to Honeygrow.

Heads up. Giving the Bala location 3 stars instead of 4 because of one bad experience last night. Y’all know how it only takes that one meh moment and then your WHOLE perspective on a place starts to slide into the lesser stars. You start to think about those last few times and suddenly they just seem a’ight. Well here we are… Normally this place is a solid, easy 4 stars. It’s close enough for me to skip out from work to grab what is most of the time a delicious lunch. However, the last few times I started to notice the sluggishness of service. Now the enthusiasm and courteousness of the staff is always high; I’ve never experienced anything less than downright pleasant, but the speed of getting my food has gone from taking 5 – 7 minutes to somewhere that now seems to consistently hover in the areas of 12 – 20 minutes. Just for one order with nothing special or extra. Granted, folks have caught on to the tastiness and the fresh elements, but the place is swarming with staff so I’m not sure what triggers the time jam – it’s getting worse. About last night though. Yo. I knew just what I wanted post workout. I went hard y’all, and then I was like, a li’l spicy garlic shrimp whole wheat noodle bowl would do me gudt. I’m placing my order and it asks me if I want some extra protein like it always does, and this time all the lactic acid in my thighs and my empty stomach said yes. So I add in a li’l steak with my shrimp. Hell, it’s payday and I’m feeling fancy as my order goes from a regular $ 11-something to a solid $ 15+. So I wait. It’s about 9:15pm and it’s not humming like it is at lunch time, but it’s pretty busy. Busy enough that I decide to sit down with the expectation that it’ll be a good 5 – 7. We got right past the 7-minute mark when my number was finally called. SIDEBAR: I really want them to get a DMV style # sign to flash the ready orders. The acoustics in this place are crazy so between all the patrons chatting, kids being kids and staff yelling various things to each other, folks hearing their order #s often gets lost in the cacophony. Anywho. I finally get my box of goodness and run out so I can get home and eat before the Gremlin/bewitching hour. I’m STARVING and cannot wait. I open my box and y’all … ITAIN’T EVENFULL! I don’t know how many times I’ve been here. I honestly don’t. Because I go fairly often. But my noodle box has NEVER been anything less than gorging at the seams – which is something I’ve always appreciated about Honeygrow. Whether I’ve ordered shrimp, chicken, beef, tofu, whatever. It’s always been plentiful with a great balance between the protein and all the fixin’s. Ample mushrooms or sugar snap peas. You get your money’s worth … but NOTLASTNIGHT. Last night, the box seriously had a solid inch of room from the top. ANINCH. If my name was Hedwig that’d be an angry muthaeffin’ inch too.(I’m getting irked all over again just writing this, can’t you tell?!) I maybe had 5 shrimp and 3 unsliced, chewy, gristly pieces of beef; maybe 2 – 4 mushrooms and 3 sugar snap peas in the whole container. This has NEVER happened to me before so it didn’t even occur to me that I needed to inspect the container before leaving. It was just unnecessary, but last night they did me dirty. I mean, a solid inch less of food and to have skrimped on my protein WHEN I PAID for EXTRA!!! Oooh wee. They’re holding steady at 3 stars just because … barely. And because they’d become such a good go-to for me it’s likely that I’ll go back, but I’ve only got ’bout one more time in me. Disappointed. I have no qualms about paying extra or good money for premium ingredients. I’m even willing to wait it out the 20 minutes that now seems standard, but don’t make me wait and then not even give me what I ordered. That just ain’t right.

After coming here a few more times since my last post, I have to bump this place down to three stars. Mostly because I find it completely frustrating that one cannot put a comment or request into the computer from which you order and the cashier/shift manager(who, ironically, avoids the cashier counter like the plague) is quite unyielding when requests like«can I get a side of lettuce with that?» or «can I get less noodles in my stir-fry?» Sometimes, I don’t want a pound of noodles in my stir fry. Sometimes, I want lettuce in lieu of noodles in my stir fry. Not only can you not substitute in lettuce for the noodles(which you pay for), you also cannot even pay EXTRA for the lettuce? What do you mean I cannot pay you for something?! Very frustrating and inflexible ordering system. Not to mention how the entire meal prep process would go MUCH faster on the meal prepper’s end if they had a display screen showing them what goes in an order, rather than having to squint down at a receipt with size 6 font to read what goes into each persons order. Simple changes like adding the ability for special requests and a better order display for their employees would go a long way. The food is still real good, but perhaps equally frustrating to get. I’m still coming but may just get too peeved one day…

If you love fresh, local, & healthy I would make this your stop. I love the self serve kiosk because NORMALLY it eliminates error. Although today they did not get my order right. The food is amazing regardless that one experience recently . The environment is very laid back. The have free wifi. Wait time is normally under 10 minutes since it is made fresh.

Ever since Honeygrow came to the Bala Cynwyd area I have eaten there a handful of times now. The concept of Honeygrow is using ingredients from local suppliers. Once you enter the restaurant you go to one of their self help kiosk and order your food. Once you pay you wait for your number to be called. I have had various suggested salads and all of their suggested stir fry. The food is pretty good and it is great for a quick meal. My favorite here is definitely the Spicy Garlic stir fry with chicken. It has a slight kick of spiciness to it but not too overwhelming. The portions are decent and pricing is a hit or miss. Some items are reasonably priced and some are pretty expensive. Overall I would say it is more on the higher end. If you are trying to find something quick to eat in the Bala Cynwyd area I would recommend this place. It is also probably more healthy compared to the other places around. Try it out!
