Salon Dante’

I came in for a spray tan and absolutely love it. The entire salon and staff is really nice. I can’t wait to come back for more pampering.

I love this place, it’s nicely decorated and it’s always a friendly atmosphere. I get my hair cut and colored by Shelly once a year and I’m always extremely happy with my results.

I couldn’t be happier! I’ve had horrible experiences in the past with getting my hair colored so I was a little wary on where to go when I decided I wanted green hair but I can honestly say this was the best experience I’ve ever had and I will be back. Joseph did my hair and gave me everything I wanted and more. The staff was super friendly and it was really clean.

This review is for Leslie only. I had purchased a Groupon for a mani-​pedi. She confirmed my appointment but when I showed up her hair was in foils and she looked confused as to why I was there to see her. I let it go and just had her reschedule me for the following week. Already a bad 1^st impression.
When my appointment arrived the following week, she began my service 20 minutes late, did not greet me, and did a less than mediocre job. Leslie did not place a base or top coat to my toenails. She did a careless job applying the top coat to my fingernails causing the clear polish to bubble on my nails. Leslie also checked if my nails were dry by patting them with her finger so they smudge and then decides that pressing the polish in the opposite direction would somehow fix that smudge. My nails are already smudged and chipped at not even 48 hours of having them done. Worst customer service I’ve had from any person at a salon. It’s frustrating that Leslie either takes no pride in her work or she is simply lazy. Do not waste your time with her service, your money is better spent elsewhere.

Had an intersting experience at lengthwise in the market place today a barber from Salon Dante was with a group of 7 friends putting his cards on people’s cars I kindly asked him not to place it on my car 3 times he did anyway then flipped me off. They all left and he returned claiming i flipped his gf off I told him no I did not you flipped me off, he entered lengthwise grabbed my friends keys threw them into the street and said that’s how I feel, he returned once more in car asked if we have a problem and then another time saying he has friends and will call them. Well this is how I feel, he left his card on my car which is littering and vandalism. Barber Rich as his card stated, with his cross tattoo and ball piercing over his right eye, I will not be stopping by to see you and I highly urge everyone to avoid this location until this barber is removed he has no place in customer service and if you upset or prevent his «hustle», as he calls it he’ll threaten to bring friends. I want a hair cut not a threat Salon Dante I hope you remove him post haste.

Note: this review is only for Leslie. I don’t know about the other manicurists or hairstylists that work here, they may be quite professional.
First of all, it was extremely hard to get in touch with her. She wasn’t at the salon when I called (and I called many times) and she didn’t pick her her personal phone. I was told to text her finally, which I did.
I booked two mani pedis here a month in advanced, and got an ok from it from Leslie. I booked it as a surprise for my little sister and mom, who would be arriving from Australia. They hadn’t gotten mani pedis before, so his was quite exciting. Day of, after they arrive I am told that the appointments were never booked. They had to leave. After talking to Leslie it turns out that even though she said confirmed the booking, it was never actually booked. My mom and sister leave tomorrow, so obviously rebooking is not an option.
This is extremely unprofessional, has never happened to me, and I would give it 0 stars if I could. Leslie may do nails wonderfully, but I guess I’ll never know.

My husband goes here on a regular basis Richard gives the best men haircuts! I would never let my husband or my son go to a Super Cuts or Sports Clips after getting a perfect cut from Richard! He’s great with clippers & a straight razor. The perfect fade & even a shave. To top it off he’s a nice guy very personable. I know some men don’t want to go to a Salon but let me tell you once Richard has cut your hair you won’t go anywhere else…

I haven’t gone to anyone but BRITTNEY BOWMAN at salon Dante, but trust me that’s the only name you need for quality hair in Bakersfield. I change my hair frequently, and have never left this salon disappointed. Brittney constantly and consistently impresses me with her ability to understand what I want, and execute it. I have recommended her to A LOT of people who have all been as happy as I am. She’s amazing!

Would never go back! The cut was really good. The color wasn’t terrible, but she cheaped out on the foils and didn’t go right to the root so it grew out fast. The lighting is really poor too so it is hard to really judge how it looks until you get home. The service was terrible too. She sprayed hair spray up my nose 2x coincidently right after I showed her a Unilocal coupon which she refused to redeem. She also almost burned me with a curling iron. It is very inexpensive though. I would have gone there coupon or not and been happy to pay twice the amount it the quality and service were good. But overall very disappointing and a very frustrating experience.

Just left this salon and I am so thankful Unilocal led me here! After a frustrating experience at a different salon in town I tried to do my own hair and completely messed it up. I called Dante Salon for help and scheduled an appointment with Maggie. What an AMAZING stylist! She fully corrected my color and I left with my hair looking full and healthy. She really listened to my concerns and took the time to do excellent work. The entire staff was kind and friendly and the salon has a very warm and inviting atmosphere. I Could not be happier with my experience and the results in my hair. I will definitely be a loyal client here and highly recommend you go see them.

Although my main girl is not there anymore, I always enjoyed going there and never had to wait long. Everyone is so super friendly and the pricing is not bad at all.

So I’m writing this review on behalf of my man. He goes to Shelly and gets his hair cut every month or so. I’ve always been very pleased with how she cuts his hair. He’s been a few other places from old timer barbershops, to a SportClips and they just never could get it right. He has very coarse and somewhat curly hair. I don’t know if that combination makes trimming more difficult or not, but in the past he always had a problem with fading on the sides. You could tell where they trimmed, it was like he had seams or something. Very odd.
But this is not the case here. Shelly does his hair perfectly! She even gets every last neck hair. (I know ewww-​gross! But I’m super grateful!) The man isn’t one for appointments so he usually texts here a few days prior and she’s able to get him in. This is very convenient and appreciated. She’s pretty reasonable too.
Now I don’t know how she is with ladies cut & color, but I know from what the man has said is that she’s always booked on weekends for wedding styling. So she must be doing something right!

After having highlights done by Joey for over 6 months, I decided I wanted a change and dye my hair back to its original color. I had to go out of town the next day, and Joey could not take me, so I had Shelly do my cut and color. Shelly is a sweetheart and pays much attention to your hair. I loved the cut and style that she did after she colored my hair. she took much care and curled it as well, so that it looked very glamorous. Will ask for either Joey or Shelly from now on. Final price is not too steep, so I would definitely recommend.

I’ve been coming to see Kathy here for 5+ years now. She does a fabulous job with my hair. I’ve also had Danielle and she is excellent as well. Relaxed, friendly, very reasonably priced and my hair looks fabulous!

I just moved to Bakersfield and was a little nervous about finding a new place but I loooove Casey. She is very reasonably priced, sweet as pie, and I get a million compliments every time she touches my hair. She is also very good at recommending new looks and styles which I love because I am one of «those people» who never knows exactly what I want.

I go here regularly to get my hair cut and colored. I love it! the atmosphere is always friendly. The women are real and not Bakerfield fake/​bourgie. They always make me feel welcome/​relaxed/​pampered. They have great magazines, always offer you something to drink and even have little snacks sometimes. I see Leslie and have been for over a year. She is amazing and always does an awesome job. I have received many compliments on my hair since I started coming here.
