It is the best viet food in Bakersfield, and reasonably priced. The décor is awful, really needs an update. The fish tank is disgusting.

Best Phở in town. When I moved to Bakersfield 11 years ago it was the first place I went to and I still go. I have tried many others and this one is the best. It’s a hidden gem. Love their seafood phở and their shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce which is amazing.

This is my favorite Phở restaurant in Bakersfield. The broth tastes like it came from your grandmothers kitchen. The true essence of home cooking at a restaurant. Every dish I have ever ordered has never been a disappointment. When feeling like shrimp try the shrimp pops they are absolutely delicious! And if you don’t feel like Phở don’t worry they don’t disappoint especially the pork chops, rice, and fried eggs on top. Magnificent!

Lunch was good but they need to stop using cheap cleaning supplies. We almost walked out due to the extremely strong smell as you walk in. The Phở chicken soup tasted great and the service is very good.

I’ve eaten a lot of phở across the country, and this place is really delicious. The phở was fresh and hot, as were the normal phở toppings. The portion was generous and I had enough to take home. The atmosphere is really laid back, a tv playing on one wall silently but with closed captions(though the reception comes and goes). I was surprised that the tv wasn’t at all a distraction, but in an odd way added to the casual ambiance. I look forward to dining here again.

My first time in Bakersfield and first time at this place. The city itself barely had anyone there when we were rolling by in the afternoon, creepy! The service was friendly and attentive, but maybe it helped that we were the only ones in during the time. Food: Spring rolls — they were nice and got us one pork and one shrimp one, instead of getting 2 full orders of each type. The pork was really tasty and it reminded me of the pork found in the egg rolls! Noodles — we got the vermicelli with 2 types of pork to share. Everything was good and tasted fresh! I enjoyed the peanuts, which I typically don’t in these dishes. The pork was very different than what I typically have, which was a nice surprise! It reminded me of Vietnamese spam lol. Vietnamese coffee — sweet and how it’s supposed to taste. You’d be surprised on how many places will kill this drink.

Love this place. Have tried phở at other places, and this is the best. Location definitely can improve, but food and service makes up for it. Staff is friendly and helpful, makes you feel like you are visiting family for dinner.

Food is excellent. And I was very impressed by the service. They accommodated seven kids between four years old and 13. Definitely coming back here again

This place is really good with great prices. The service was fast and we didn’t have to wait long at all. Its not in the best neighborhood but everything else was good.

Dont know what everyone is talking about with Phở-Vy. Both my wife and I were 1st timers here earlier this evening. Everything was good until they brought our bowls. We loved the rice noodles, the delectable seafood morsels and thats about it. Phở is about the soup. Boy I’ll tell ya! If this soup had anymore sodium the molecules in my body would even swell and I’m already swollen after that meal! It hurts to say«butt» I’d stick to Phở House on Buck Owens Dr. The folks here at Phở-Vy were pleasant but there soup was mediocre. 1 star and will not be giving Phở-Vy a second chance.

This place is amazing hands down! Me and my husband have been going here for about 4 years now. My husband gets the extra large #18 with BBQ pork added, shrimp and pork spring rolls on the side. The grilled onions in the soup is the best gives the soup sooo much flavor. The service there is wonderful.

This place is easily the best phở in Bakersfield. There is always something great about any aspect of what the restaurant has to offer. Starting with their customer service, the staff here makes you feel like you are part of their family. Then we get to talking about the food. Their chicken phở is the best tasting phở I have ever had. Easily the best tasting. The broth here is easily addictive, no matter what soup you order. Make sure to try their #38 entrée with the filet mignon and fried rice. It comes with an amazing sautéed broccoli on the side which can be spicy if you ask. So if you’re a soup person, your cravings can be just as satisfied if you’re a rice dish type of person! 10⁄10 A+

My family and I are monthly visitors. My parents prefer this place over any other ones in town. We’ve always had great flavors in the two dishes are normally get, the phở and bun bo hue. Today, my husband decided to try the grilled pork chop with a fried egg on top of white rice. The whole point of having the egg on top of the rice is when the knife cuts into the egg, the yolk would smother over the rice but when my husband cut into the egg, the yolk was 80% cooked/solidified. He ate it happily while I would of asked for another egg. My main problem from the visit was the server. Both the lady owner and the male server are pushy in a friendly manner. Today, my mom asked the male server for a plate of fresh veggies for her bun bo hue and he mumbled something and I said«sorry, I didn’t hear you». He then said«don’t take it home», telling us not to take the leftover veggies home. If we leave the leftovers vegetables(like the server said) they are either 1. throw it away or … 2. reuse it. some might use a chop stick to grab the veggies but some uses their hands… and if they’re reusing it. I’m not sure if I want to eat their fresh vegetables anymore.

Absolutely one favorite places to visit. We sneak out of work to have lunch a couple of times a month if not more. Usually get the Chicken Phở which out of the other 3 places in town that I have tried this is the best. My buds and I usually get the small chicken and split a Chicken Pad Thai. FYI ask for extra peanut sauce for the Pad Thai. The Spicy chicken wings are great. All of the spring rolls are flesh and delicious. I ordered the spicy seafood tonight and it is awesome!!! Not too much spicy just the right amount. I’m sorry to hear one of the post complaining about their food because we have never had a bad experience!

They have great phở. Their plates are soooo good. By far the best in Bakersfield! Can’t wait for the new location to open soon, closer to home.

Remembered Phở Vi, after seeing some pics that a Unilocaler posted from this restaurant recently. There was a time when Phở Vi was our favorite Vietnamese restaurant not only in Bakersfield, but in the entire world as well! Yeah, we liked their food that much! My wife loved their phở! She even preferred it over places in Los Angeles and San Francisco. I was a fan of their Pork Chop, and their Grilled Pork Vermicelli! We have not returned in awhile because of sanitary reasons. We have always noticed that they are not the cleanest restaurant. That had never stopped us from returning here because the food is 5 stars worthy!!! Service has always been good, and the food comes out fast and delicious! Fortunately, we have never had any sanitary problems with the food. Some of our friends who used to be regulars here had a major issue! Until, Phở Vi cleans up their kitchen… I doubt that we will be returning here anytime soon in the future. Too bad for us cause we were fans.

Looking for Viet food in Bakersfield? Well, look no further. This is probably your best bet in town for taste and price. The menu is varied, but most customers come for the phở. Nice bonus here is that the tables provide not only soy sauce and traditional rooster red sriracha but also a sriracha mix with the little peppers for extra heat and deliciousness. My friend raves about the buns too. Recently, we ordered veggie spring rolls with the peanut butter hoisin sauce. Sauce is good; rolls come stuffed with tofu, and taste bland but healthy. As far as drinks go, I enjoy ordering hot fresh soy milk. For those in the know, you’ll understand that this soy milk is legit because it’s Asian and fresh made. Service is pretty quick, and the owner does indeed take your order by memory. Store itself is clean enough, but I agree with a previous Unilocal review: that empty greenish water fish tank could stand to go. Also, if you walk in at 8:45pm, literally 15 minutes before store closing at 9pm, you’ll still get served kindly. Woohoo!

What worked: — Flavorful broth, mildly sweet — Generous with their meat — Fresh Vegetables — Quick service — Affordable What didn’t work: — Phở wasn’t hot enough, so the noodles were all tangled up(Saigon Phở nailed this one). Those two places should just collaborate so I can have my phở cooked to perfection.
