I can’t even remember the last time I shopped at a Payless Shoesource. Okay, now it’s coming back to me. I needed a pair of shoes to attend a friend’s wedding. To be completely honest, I was already dressed for the wedding when I realized that I had no shoes to match and made my brother stop at a Payless Shoesource on the way there. That friend has now been divorced for at least two or three years, so that gives you a clue how often I shop here. But last week I was in the same parking lot as this Payless Shoesource and realized how desparately I needed some new shoes and decided to take a chance. The shoes are displayed in mens, womens, and children’s sections by size so it’s very easily to quickly determine whether they have anything you like in your size. I must say it does cut down on the disappointment of finding the perfect shoe and then discovering they don’t have your size. Shoe shopping can be very frustrating because an 8 ½ is too tight and a 9 is too loose and there are very few shoe places with a good supply of shoes in wide sizes. I found a pair or two that I liked in the wide sizes and then the salesgirl put in her two cents. She said that she had some heel inserts that could go into the size 9 shoes to make tem fit better and she said she was going to open a package for me to try shoes on with. I have to admit, it wasn’t a solution that excited me — until I tried them on. My goodness, they made all the difference and she made more money on the sale. It worked out well for both of us. I love all three of my new pairs of shoes; they are comfortable and holding up well. Well, I guess that’s what counts, right?
