Jimanos changed their name to Cubbies. Same owner and same great food

I am writing this based soley on the restaurant because I didn’t even try the food. Can I do that? Well, I don’t care, I’m going to do it anyway. I had heard that this place has good pizza. When I do eat pizza, I typically like to eat it with other people, have some beer, and watch a game. I really like old school pizza parlor type places. I don’t mind if they are loud, I actually kind of expect it. I had my kids with me and decided to check this place out. They like going to pizza places because they can have some pizza and play some games. A little food and entertainment is always nice, you know. I walked in and was really shocked at the atmosphere. I’m not saying that I expected it to be like Chuck E Cheese or anything, but I did not expect what I saw. It was a very small, quiet place. There were two couples eating dinner and drinking wine. A couple of small tv’s were on with the volume turned down. I felt like I was in a Starbucks that served alcohol and pizza. Turns out, they also sell a lot of italian dishes that are not pizza. I think this place should be lableled as an Itailian Restaraunt, not a pizza joint. Maybe they are aspiring to be a smaller CPK, I don’t know. There wasn’t a single game in the little place. Definitely not appealing to children. I took a look at the menu. Looked a little pricey to me. I could get over that if the food was good. The guy at the counter was ready to take our order but we promptly left and went to a real pizza place. Maybe you would like Jimano’s if you wanted to go to a pizza place for a date? Maybe if you had your laptop with you and you wanted a quiet place to work while you had some pizza? Or maybe a work lunch? Sorry, that place was not what I was looking for.

Definitely one of the best places for pizza in Bakersfield. So far I have only tried the thin crust and love it! I’m typically not a fan of thin crust b/c I feel like it’s usually burnt or hard on the bottom. This is not the case with Jimanos. It’s thin but thick enough that you can still taste the dough. One thing that is different is that they do not cut slices in the normal fashion. Their pieces are cut into squares, meaning you can have a piece from the middle that has no crust! That’s my favorite! Also, they put their pepperoni underneath the cheese. So it will look a tad different but oh so cheesy! Inside the restaurant is small but they have lots of board games for the kids to stay occupied which I think is a unique touch. They do tend to be pricier than other places in town but the quality is there. Plus there are coupons online and daily specials. If you live in the northwest and have driven past this place wondering about it, I suggest that you give it a try!

There are many great pizza places in Bakers… but this place has the best. From thin crust to Chicago style. Great prices too! Breadsticks are awesome!

About as close to «Chicago Style» pizza that you’ll find in California. The pizza sauce fantastic & crust remind me of Numero Uno back in the day. It took my wife and I two days to finish a large pie. Trust me I can put down some pizza, but this pie will fight back with flavor. The Italian Beef sandwich is awesome as well. I think I found my new favorite pizza joint here in Bako. Lucky it’s right down the street from my house.

Their pizzas are probably one of the bombest pizzas in town. Definitely worth the price, which is reasonable. I only have 2 complaints with the pizzas. The toppings are situated underneath the cheese. This causes the moisture from the onions to be locked into the onions, resulting in slimy onions. Onions on pizza should have some crispness to them resulting from direct heat. My other complaint is the crust on the deep dish pizzas. It’s good the first time around, but when you microwave your leftovers the next day, the crust is completely soggy. Yuck! Despite those two complaints, their pizza is still bomb. My next beef is with their ribs(hahah get it?). I ordered their rib dinner to go, which according to their menu comes with«a generous portion of french fries and garlic bread.» It came with a small envelope of fries and two small pieces of bread. I bought this meal to feed my family, and was very disappointed at the portions of sides. The ribs, however, were bomb, although overpriced. I would consider ordering again if they didn’t skimp on the sides. I know I kind of focused on the negative, but Jimano’s has bomb quality food. Oh, and they have a food challenge, which I will totally attempt one of these days. Customer til I D-I-E.

I love this place. I go all the time for the lunch mini pan pizza special. That too, I spilt the mini with a friend and am still after. The price is well worth something that will hit the spot. For movie night in with my girlfriends, they all will order from this place. When I went to Chicago, I really wanted some Jimano’s after eating at places there that just didnt cut it taste wise. Afterall, Jimano’s came over to us from there. I ended up only sticking to places that you can find in the area and regretted not having my craving fulfilled. When my sister moved to Gurnee and saw there was a Jimano’s there, she was ecstatic bc there is now one place she can rely on for good pizza. PLus, Jimano’s has a website that also has coupons, go online and check it out. I’m a committed customer for sure.

Good pizza. My buddy gave it a 5 and I gave it a 3 so I split the difference. I had the vegetarian. Not bad. 14AUG11: my buddy and I tried again and we both just didn’t like the pizza so I’m changing my review from 4 to 2.

It truly is great pizza. And I love that their toppings are layered between the cheese. It’s never overly greasy and has great flavor. It’s just a bit pricey. $ 14 for a teeny«Medium» pizza was kind of a bummer. But when there’s tasty pizza you don’t really mind!

Best pizza place in Bakersfield, a variety of toppings as well as crust options. Can mix and match to fit your desire. Jimano’s menu extends more than just pizza; plenty of sandwiches, pasta’s, and sides options to be plenty for an individual or a large party. Will always be my top choice for great food!!!

Jimano’s Pizzeria is the best pizza you can get in Bakersfield! They have 4 different types of crust so there’s something for everyone. My personal favorite is the double dough, but if you like a lot of crust then I would suggest the Deep Dish or even the Stuffed. There is so much to choose from it’s insane. The food can seem a little pricey, but once you see how much you’re getting and how delicious it is, you will understand why! They always have great specials and coupons you can use too. I usually just ask if I don’t have any, or print some off of the website.

If cheap pizza is what you’re looking for, don’t go to Jimano’s, but if you want a GREAT pizza, there’s nowhere else to go. Jim Reed and his staff serve one of the best pizzas anywhere! The snadwiches and ravioli are absolutely delicious. I was told, but haven’t yet tried, the Barbeque Ribs are out of this world, and I don’t doubt it. But they will have to wait til my next visit. Their ranch dressing, served with both sandwiches and salad, is home made and beats the bottled stuff hands down. The marinara sauce which comes with the pastas also makes a great dipping sauce for sandwiches. With four different crusts available on the pizzas, everyone can be satisfied. All the ingredients are really fresh. Unfortunately, my wife & I live a couple hundred miles from here, but we will eat at Jimano’s each chance we get. I wish they had one in Blythe.

LOVEIT! I’ve been here a few times, mostly with friends. I am enamored with their deep dish pizza. It’s so cheesy and full of flavor. Their bread sticks are rather delicious, definitely not good for you but yummy! Beer on tap, always good. They also have some games on hand for table play with friends and family. Nice, easy going staff.

Jimano’s Pizza was fantastic! The menu is huge and everything looked, smelled and TASTED delish! We ordered almost all the appetizers; hot wings, BBQ wings, jalapeño poppers, breadsticks, mozzarella sticks, and deep fried ravioli. Everything we tried was prepared perfect and tasted perfect x2. My favorite thing was the fried ravioli, I would give 5 stars just for that ravioli! I was there with a big party and Jimano’s was very accommodating. Jimano’s has a family feel about it, which I love. They have board games instead of video games, and that was a big plus for me. I find arcade game sounds obnoxious and I would much rather see families playing together than parents giving their kids $ 15.00 to play games while all the parents sit around talking. The ten of us played Uno while we waited for our pizza. By that point we were already stuffed from the massive amounts of appetizers we’d already consumed. The pizza is deep dish Chicago style, which means the toppings are under the cheese. I had to explain that to a few people when they thought we’d received our order incorrectly. The pizza was just as good as everything else, but I had a hard time eating any of it. We had almost two large pizzas worth of leftovers. TIP: Order the appetizers and a small pizza, it’s the best of both worlds! I have yet to find a good family pizza place in Anaheim, so going to Jimano’s while in Bakersfield was a really nice luxury for me. Jim Reed, the owner, was the best part of the whole experience. He walked around the every table making sure all his customers were happy. It was obvious to me, that his happiness was determined by the smiles on his customer’s faces.
