I came in on a Wednesday morning and picked up a dozen mixed donuts for a meeting I was hosting. The woman behind the counter was friendly and very helpful. She picked out the donuts for me, packaged them up, and gave me the bill. Very reasonable cost, less than $ 10. The donuts were fresh and flavor-able. They were a hit at my meeting. None were left at the end.

Early morning I was craving some donuts, but I had to take care of some errands… so after doing all that I was driving by and the donut sign caught my eye… so I stopped. So glad I did. Fresh donuts in the middle of the day! what a concept. The attending person was very pleasant to deal with, that for sure is an added bonus. I will for sure go back whenever around the area.

They open at 5am and sometimes we are waiting at 4:45am for time to pass so we can get warm fresh donuts. The staff has always been nice and friendly. They have a really delicious peanut butter filled donut that kinda reminds me of butterfinger bars, new fav!

So my husband picked up a dozen of donuts since we have a bunch of kids over and I decided to have one. I don’t normally eat donuts unless it’s sugartwist :-) but I went ahead and had one. The donut I picked was the cream filled one… I got halfway through the donut and there was no filling. I continued to eat this supposed cream filled donut til the end and nothing. How can you sell a cream filled donut minus the cream? If I wanted a chocolate bar then I would’ve picked the chocolate bar… Haha just saying.

Fosters Donuts has been here ever since I was a little kid. My family and I ALWAYS buy our donuts here every Sunday morning; they’re always fresh! The donuts here are freshly baked, always ready and taste amazing! Oh, and you can’t forget their crushed iced sodas… AMAZING! I would recommend this place to anyone, except that their hours are certain time but nonetheless, they serve good donuts and the service is great! Thanks Fosters Donuts!

Their hours of operation is not consistent. Some days they are closed as early as 11am. This Foster’s is near where I live but I do not go here for the Donuts, I come back on a regulare basis strictly & simply for the crushed ice. I love crushed ice with Pepsi and their prices for their soda is cheaper than other places. I have eaten their donuts but I’m not a donut lover nor a fan. Their donuts are good and on the same level at the other Fosters I’ve tried. And the ladies are always nice and seem to know quite a few of their customers. The reason why I rated two starts is simply because of what I stated at the beginning, there is no consistency with their hours of operation. Other Fosters operate 24/7, excluding major holidays but this one seems to close as they see pleased at times which if you are craving that donut or for me, the crushed ice with Pepsi, can be a disappointment.

I had the maple bar and it was possibly the best maple bar I’ve ever eaten. My buddy had a peanut butter filled donut with chocolate frosting and when I asked for a bite, he said no and finished it off, it was that good. We will be going back while in town.

Absolutely the most delicious donuts I have ever eaten in my life. My only regret: not buying more. I am literally about to drive all the way to Bakersfield from Fresno, CA just for a taste of these. People say that not all Fosters locations are great, well this is on of the(probably) few that should be given an A+. Great prices, too. I asked for a cup of ice, it was $ 1. I was about to get annoyed and than the guy gives me the most ginormous cup of ice in the world. Not only that, but it was the best kind of ice: shaved ice. Hell yeah man. Ice is the best, and this place has the best of the best. ohyaaa iloveu

Not all Fosters Donuts locations are created equally. Some locations are better than others, and some locations are worse than others. This branch is right in the middle. It’s not the best Fosters, but it’s not the worst either. I don’t know if all the Fosters Donuts locations use the same ingredients from the same suppliers, but it does not taste like they do. There is no consistency from one branch to the other. Some are really good while others are not. Maybe it’s because of the different times of the day that I visit. I don’t know. Well, anyways, I would still drop by here if I was in the area craving a donut. I just cannot recommend any donut in particular cause I have no favorite here.

Foster’s is a classic donut shop experience, which I miss dearly in these modern days of coffee concoctions made by industrial machinery in hipster coffee bars and boutique cupcakery bakeries that churn out pastries with names that I can’t pronounce. My dad was a blue collar guy. Before he went to work in the morning, he would meet up with his friends and have a cup of coffee and breakfast — at the local donut shop. The donut shop is a social experience. The same guys would roll in every morning with newspapers in hand and are greeted by the servers on a first name basis. They ordered their usual and then sipped their coffee at a snail’s pace lamenting about their football team’s lost last night and then get into an argument with one another over some current event they read about in the paper. Foster’s manages to bring these memories back to me on the rare occasions I have time to sit down and eat breakfast there. The interior is plain white with simple booth seating. The signs are mismatched and add to the charm of the local coffee shop. The two ladies who run this place are kind and helpful. I always order the ham and cheese croissant($ 2.75) and wash it down with a plain old cup of coffee. The donut selections are ~$ 1 each when ordered individually. The selection can be hit and miss depending on what time of day so I never go after 8 a.m. The regulars have long picked through the best offerings by that time.

I came by around 5:30 pm on a Wednesday and the display case was nearly empty. It held 7 donuts(I counted), a lot of happy face cookies, and a big pile of donut holes. Pickings were mighty slim. I’ve always liked the donuts at the Fosters on White Lane, though that location is open 24 hours so the selection is always good, so I thought I’d give it a try anyway. I got a custard filled chocolate frosted donut for the student, and a glazed donut for the teacher, leaving five donuts for them. Yes, I can do word problems, LOL. The glazed donut tasted like it had been sitting there most of the day, almost a stale taste and texture. I don’t know if it would have tasted better if I’d bought it later in the day, but every other place I get donuts has them tasting fresh at this hour, so I don’t know. Oh, two donuts cost me $ 2.00 and neither of them was a bar or special size. Let’s just say I was NOT a fan.

I often go to Bakersfield on business and usually when I do I like to bring the clients or the local office breakfast. Fosters donuts is your run of the mill donust shop but like most local business, the owners are friendly and run a clean shop. The prices are fair and deserve their 4th star because they now accept credit cards, yay for company credit cards! The selection in the mornings is always good, the coffee is always fresh(as are the donuts), and no matter how early they always greet you with a smile. That’s all you can really ask for in a donuts shop isn’t it?
