Bolles Nursery Landscape

I’m a girl who likes to play in the dirt! Now that i have my first home, beautifying its insides and out are on my to do list! Luckily I got my mama’s green thumb! The customer service is above and beyond what is expected. It is a little pricy but some times you can find a good steal. Can’t wait for my next trip there, my backyard needs some love!

Just recently purchased three trees there. Very knowledgeable was the sale staff. The people who planted my trees were very nice and professional.

A dear friend with a beautiful yard recommended Bolles, and I’ve been back three times in the past two weeks. There are so many beautiful things there…
The first time I went to Bolles I bought a mexican sage. It has purple beautiful flowers and looks a bit like lavender. Like my friend said, hummingbirds are attracted to it, and I see hummingbirds visiting my backyard almost every day now…
I’m not going to do justice to this review, but I wanted to comment now while I’m feeling so strongly about their services.
I spent about an hour and a half wandering around their gardens today and finally selected some pots and fruit trees … wonderful, large selection.
The service was perfect. I was asked a few times whether I needed help, but I didn’t find this overbearing, and felt this was a positive, as Will has commented.
I knew that my purchases were too heavy for me to take home myself. I was shocked to hear that they were willing right then to deliver the items to my home.
I found a «Wonderful» pomegranate tree– with beautiful deep orange flowers. I had never seen one before. I went in determined to buy grapefruit and lime trees, but decided to buy two small pomegranate trees too. The lady that was helping me asked if I saw the beautiful larger one — it was a lot more obviously. She said she would have purchased it herself if she didn’t already have one in her backyard. When she showed it to me, I knew without hesitation I wanted it. She explained it was full sun… and would go perfectly in my front yard.
Delivery like I said is shockingly swift and free.
I wasn’t going to pay $ 80 for the labor to plant the big tree, figuring that I could get someone to do it cheaper. A customer who was there behind me in line offered that it was advisable to have them do it. They know what they are doing, and they will give you tips on how to care for it. Also she said, they clean up afterwards and no one will be able to suspect the tree had just been planted. She was pretty enthusiastic about it, and I got out my well-​used credit card and bought the extra service.
What she said was all true, and I’m so glad I asked that they plant the tree. It was so hot today. Even two guys working on the planting took a bit to finish the job. In digging the hole for the tree (which the guy suggested be moved a foot further onto the property than I originally directed because if the tree grows large, he explained it could bother the neighbors) they found another tree had once been there so it took an extra long time to dig up the tree stump and plant in that exact spot.
They had brought their own hose (thank goodness) and watered, and cleaned the area. True, it looks like these plants have been there forever. The area was left very clean.
The guys were super nice and repeatedly asked about whether they could do additional things for me. Highly recommend this service…
I love Lowes (who were silly enough to give me a credit card) but it’s really nice to frequent a local business.

This nursery always has a great selection and outstanding customer service. Thanks for the great idea that helped me salvage my fountain that had seen better days…

This place is absolutely gorgeous. I had so much fun wandering around here getting inspired to create amazing living works of art out of my new plant babies. The most exciting part of the whole place is the succulent greenhouse. Not only is the selection great, the prices are low, AND the employees (especially Sheila) are knowledgable and helpful without being pushy. I cannot wait to never go back the horrible big box store’s garden center ever again!

I know literally nothing about plants. Nothing. Someone referred me to Bolles Nursery, so I went to the Allen Road location and was blown away. Extremely knowledgeable staff, a wonderful selection that’s laid out beautifully, and — a huge, huge plus for me – it’s locally owned.
I was especially impressed by the advice I received; a very nice woman counseled me against purchasing an expensive item because it was the wrong time of year and I don’t possess the optimum growing conditions. Instead, I was consulted and pointed in the direction of plants that were very, very well-​priced which would flourish given my situation.
It’s not my place to question anyone else’s experience, and I certainly don’t wish to discount anyone’s opinion, however my and Brooke A.‘s respective encounters with Bolles couldn’t be more opposite. I strongly encourage anyone looking for distinctive plants and foliage of quality and character to shop at Bolles Nursery.

This review is in regards to the Bolles Nursery on Allen Road. Terrible service! I had a list of plants I was looking for and couldn’t get anyone to assist me. When I finally asked someone for help she didn’t even walk me over to the plant she just pointed in the direction of where I could find it. (Not helpful considering I didn’t know what half the plants I was looking for looked like). Hardly anything had a price tag either and when I asked about a price she just said, «oh I still need to price those»…okay… Needless to say, I did not and will not be purchasing anything from Bolles Nursery. There are plenty of other nurseries in Bakersfield.

Great place for your gardening needs. Fairly good selection of plants and average prices. When I was there, I was almost finished shopping before a staff member asked if I needed help. This is actually a good comment because they are very busy but a staff member managed to find me and offer help anyway.
The nursery was clean and organized. I saw no evidence of insect issues on the plants. They seemed healthy and of a good quality. Staff were clean and presented a proper business like demeanor.
There were many plants without prices or names. This was frustrating because customers are forced to ask a staff member, but there are few available. Proper marking of the plants would be helpful. Information about the plants should include name, sun exposure, expected height, and watering requirements. Above all they should have a price clearly marked. Otherwise, I am left feeling like the price is negotiable or up to the sales people. I really don’t want to be in the position of guessing what the price is. More information would make the experience of plant shopping much better.

Best nursery ever! Upon arrival, a nice woman asked if we needed any help. I told her it was our first time in and she stated that their nursery is the only one we will ever need and I believe her!
This place is huge and we still have to go back to see it all. Very clean and well organized.
We were on the hunt for some large ceramic urns, citrus trees and some veg and herb plants. Got all what we needed and I would like to head back next weekend as well for more goodies!
In the herb plants section, a female staff member there too was happy to answer all of our questions. We got some beautiful cilantro and some chives. Tomato and ghost pepper plants as well. I am in love with my new lemon tree.
I found the prices to be fair. Lots of selection.
We had 3 people help us to our SUV with our haul and we left feeling like valued customers!

Very knowledgeable staff. Locally Owned!!! They have helped us choose many plants and flowers for your home for years. We love the personal service and local feel. They have a large, gorgeous selection for anything you could want to plant. They have a great selection of beautiful planters too. We always have good «luck» with their plants and flowers (because a green thumb, I have not). All in all the Best Plant Store in Bakersfield.

Bolle’s is the best nursery in town, definitely. They have a knowledgeable staff that’s willing to answer any questions or offer suggestions to help your plants thrive. I’m a total novice when it comes to growing anything and was treated no different than a vet green thumb. They have an amazing selection of plants, pots, incredible staff, and a couple of cute roaming cats. You’ll find plants you’ve never thought existed and even learn how to take care of them, love this place!

Asked them to replace my lawn based on recommendation from my friend. Job was completed but lawn is not as level. Some areas were lower. Asked to fix, said wait for it. Now it’s been 6 months, same situation. Not really interested in after service, which is a shame, since they could have the job of doing my backyard had they bother to be behind their service warranty.
