On the 30th a gentleman did come out as promised to talk to me about how loud my alarm was inside my house and how quiet it was outside my house. My next-door neighbor, who’s home is in very close proximity to mine, cannot even hear it when it goes off unless she is outside. To be continued…

This is a TERRIBLE company. We had countless problems including our account not being properly set up(including our verbal password, emergency contact, and payment), to our equipment not being properly set up, to our equipment flat out not working. We got multiple false alarms and then some detectors flat out wouldn’t work. Every time we called to get something fixed at the house they would schedule something for a week out and then say they were going to charge us some exorbitant amount. The straw that broke the camels back was when we had(another) false alarm, but I was unable to go to the house to see if everything(including our three fur children) were okay, and the ADT company couldn’t even confirm if police had gone to check our house, when our initial representative had explicitly said that someone(police, local security, or otherwise) would check on our home if we could not respond. Turns out that while ADT does have that service, they didn’t offer it in our area yet so basically our representative not only set up our account wrong but also lied to us. We canceled our contract about a year in after sending multiple letters stating that we were not satisfied with their service and were not getting the service we thought we were paying for. We moved on to Vivint and are MUCH happier with their service.

EXTREMELYPISSEDATADT! Signed up almost 2 years ago, and it sounded great… pay $ 44/month to have my alarm monitored via wifi, and had 2 door sensors and 1 motion sensor. I was told by the salesperson that once my contract is up, that I could choose to continue to have the system monitored, or just have the alarm. About 1 year into the contract, I found out that I needed a permit with the police dept. that goes with my alarm… the alarm company didn’t mention this whatsoever, and knew I was a new homeowner and avoided discussing this. ADT tried to make it right by crediting me a couple months of bills. Now I am at the end of my contract, and called to give them notice that I was going to cancel because I did not want monitoring anymore, and I was told that ADTWOULDREMOTELYDISABLEMYALARMSYSTEMATTHEENDOFMYCONTRACT. I told them that this was deceptive sales tactics as I was told that the alarm would be mine at the end if I chose not to continue monitoring, and the lady on the phone said that was how it used to work, but now they are remotely disabling systems so that other alarm companies can’t use their equipment. She didn’t care that I just wanted it for the alarm. Told her I was going to write them bad reviews online and file a complaint with the BBB so here I am. AVOIDTHISCOMPANY… THEYARE A BUNCHOFLIARSANDDECEPTIVESALESPEOPLE.

You should avoid ADT like riding on a motorcycle with your arms wrapped around another man’s waist. I used ADT for our home security for two years. At first everything seemed great. We had moved into a house that already had every door and window set up with a sensor so we didn’t have to pay for any extra equipment. All we had to do was call ADT and activate our service as well as sign a 2 year contract. When we had a motion detector acting up later on we called ADT to run a test on our equipment. They can do this remotely. Well in our instance they couldn’t run the test because their service center couldn’t receive a signal from us. That wouldn’t be very helpful if someone actually broke into my house now would it? We even had to add a phone line for ADT to work. So we basically paying the $ 40 a month to ADT plus the additional cost of having a land line we didn’t even want. Of course when we discovered this our contract still had 6 months left on it. They of course wouldn’t let us out of our contract even though they failed to provide the service we were paying for. They also wanted $ 300 to come out and try and figure out what the issue was. For us it was cheaper just to pay off the remaining months on the contract and cancel the service we never got in the first place. Of course, when I cancelled they started offering to come out for free to look at the problem. At that point we were done with them. I’ve had another home security provider for the last year and the customer service is night and day better. They even upgraded all my equipment for free. ADT is by far the worst customer service I’ve ever had to deal with.

Used them for years and no problems until I needed a door sensor replaced. They sent a repairman to do the repair then I signed the work order with the repair amount. I later realized that on that repair order was also an extension of my contract for 3 years. Wow these guys are shysters. Immediately called them and they said I would have to pay $ 1,200.00 to cancel. I called them a few days later after I remembered that a for a contract to be legal the repairman would have to have a salesman license with the board of contractors. He did not. I threaten to turn them into the state board and they immediately dropped the contract. I turned them in anyway. Don’t use the company!

The salesman we had come out was great. He explained our options and offered what we all agreed was reasonable and would best suit our needs without breaking our budget. The installation guys completely missed our install time which was irritating. However, they were very professional and polite upon arriving and got the system installed, working, tested, and reviewed with me in a timely manner. We are loving the Pulse system. It is cheaper than Vivint and I love being able to access, view, and control the system from anywhere via my phone or any computer with internet.
