The Right Choice Chimney Service

I’ve used right Choice for several years on various properties. The first time I used them I watched them remove build-​up in a chimney that was significantly older than the previous cleaning. They also found defects and made necessary repairs to a firebox and flue that the other service had failed to find or report. Their price has never been more than their initial quote and they’ve always arrived when scheduled (although they are usually booked several weeks out.) The owner Dan has always provided us with old-​school workmanship and honest value. His invoice is one I actually enjoy paying.

Dan Orsborn just saved us $ 1,500! We had another chimney service come out (Certified Chimney Service) and tell us to immediately stop burning and to get a new chimney liner. We called Right Choice Chimney Service for a second opinion and quickly found out our liner is just fine.
Dan cleaned our chimney again since the first guy did such a poor job and charged us less than Certified.
Dan was clearly the Right Choice. I will refer him to everyone I know!

I called two weeks ago and scheduled an appointment for a sweeping; a simple one story chimney and woodstove. The day of the appointment I called the Sweep to confirm. He advised me he was really booked that day and could we reschedule. I was not very happy as I had made arrangements to take off from work to meet him, but I agreed and he suggested the next day at 4:00pm. I ensured the stove was cold and cleaned all the ashes out prior to his arrival. I left a voice mail for him at 3:30pm and again at 5:00pm. No show. At 5:30pm he called me to advise his employee had sustained an injury and that no one would be available to sweep for me that day. He suggested to me that he would give me a call the next time he was in my area and schedule an appointment. Excuse me? What sort of Customer Service does he provide? I would say none. He can wait until Hell freezes over before I ever call or refer his company for service.

Dan Orsborn is the Right Choice for chimney sweeping and any fireplace, woodstove or related installation or maintenance. I’ve used him several times now and I have only one complaint. He can be hard to reach.
My first experience was with installing an insert that a friend was giving us. I was trying to find someone that would uninstall it from my friend’s house and install it at mine. No installer was willing to touch a stove they hadn’t sold. Dan gave me a quote, saved me a tremendous amount of money by reusing portions of the liner from the source install (which had barely been used), and came in under budget. That’s right, the total bill was lower than he had anticipated!
I’ve since had him install a new insert in a house we moved into two years later, and he did some maintenance on a rental house we own. Every encounter is the same. He is super friendly, shows respect to my home, cleans up afterward and his assistant is super too.
