Lottie’s Place

A HUGE thank you to Lottie and Christina! They generously opened up their salon over Labor Day weekend to host myself and my bridesmaids so we had a place to get ready. They did everything from updos to blowouts to helping the girls apply false eyelashes. We had a wonderful experience and I am so thankful for their services!

Took my 7 year old here twice for a haircut. I avoid the chain hair salon on the island because they absolutely butcher your hair. The adult salons charge adult prices and its hard to find a nice middle ground here on Bainbridge. Lottie is affordable, but each time we’ve gone she has ignored our requested style completely. While occupying my younger son she gave my 7 year old son a super short hairstyle straight out of the «Andy Griffith Show». Just your basic 1950s short crop, decent, but not what he or I wanted. My son said after, «She just kept asking me, what do you want and I was so confused!». Not sure if they only know one haircut or just don’t care. Fine place if you want basic military reform school hair, not great if you think you want anything contemporary or fashionable. I guess it’s time for the $ 50 kids haircut.

Cristina, Lottie’s daughter, is my go-​to hair person. She is a fabulous colorist, and her skills with the blow dryer are amazing. Why spend a $ 30 ferry fare to go to Seattle when Cristina is right down the street!

You can’t beat Lottie’s for a salon with good vibe. Lottie deals with my very active son with casual ease as well as my daughter, who likes to look just so. She also does a fabulous job with my husband’s hair: at last, he has shed the barber look and now looks hip!
