206 Pizza!!! The most amazing thin crust pizza in the pnw. Fresh basil & mozzarella… or try the breakfast pizza, with prosciutto egg & arugula-Delish! Of course, there are veggies, plant starts to grow your own organic edible garden, fresh cut flowers(the peonies are amazing) cheese, wine, kraut, & more! BI Market has grown in size with a growing list of vendors and offer a variety of specialized fare. You can also find a handful of craft vendors to shop too! Jewelry, pottery, wearable art, beeswax candles, and other giftables, all made on the island…

I love farmer’s markets but this was a letdown. It is super tiny and unless you actually live here, there really isn’t much for you to buy. As a tourist, you aren’t going to be buying produce to cook so we ended up walking the farmer’s market in less than 5 minutes. And since it is so small, it lacked variety.

It’s a small market with not too many booths. It does have a nice grass area, live music and a balloon guy for entertainment. A lot of the vendors seem to keep to themselves or talking to each other rather then interact with us which means lost sales. Not a bad place to stop by and kill a little time.

I keep going back and forth on this. The market is teeny and the produce is pretty pricey compared to the one in Edmonds where we do most of our shopping. My friend was laughing looking at the sparse tables with artfully arranged produce. It was almost like something that got staged for a photo shoot for Martha Stewart Living. With that said, it was a beautiful place to stroll and I did get some turnips. It just wasn’t a real do all of your weekly shopping kind of market.

Very small market. Not impressed. After my first visit to this farmers market I was super bummed out, there are hardly any booths, not much selection, and not very friendly. I decided to give it another try, thinking perhaps it was a fluke, and unfortunately it was not. The booths are small and I was surprised at how expensive the produce was, I could get better prices elsewhere. Also some places only had very small amounts of what they were selling. 2 of 20 booths actually had samples of their produce/product to taste(melon and cheese). The retail booths are crazy expensive it’s ridiculous. You can get a good deal on flowers here, a large selection at two different booths. The seasonal arrangements are beautiful and fragrant. So, to sum it up… Don’t come here looking for selection and great deals. It’s nice to get out for 15 minutes but that’s it. Two stars from me because — Meh. I’ve experienced better.

We caught last one outside for the season. The rain was more a strong mist by that point, not interfering with our stroll of the small market. There still was a decent crowd, and we found the market simply by walking towards the source of people carrying their bounties. The garlic and potatoes made me wish our hotel room had a kitchen. And the ice cream… oh, wow, but that’s another review.

My, what a super idyllic scene. This Farmers Market, as small as it is, is a true testament to Bainbridge Island’s farming and organic food driven community. What should you expect to see? Small stands, friendly people, fresh colorful produce, flowers, homemade jars of honey, home baked loafs of bread, live local music and dogs(corgis!) happily running around the green grass. Pinch me.

ok, look folks… if you’re schlepping wares at a farmer’s market I would assume that you care about what you’re selling and that for the most part folks ain’t beatin’ down your door to purchase your wares… that’s why you are there. to SELL your stuff… well, let me tell you lady, selling goatmilk cheese and yogurt… while your goods are tasty… they’re NOT worth your pretentious and snotty attitude… maybe you just had a bad day this past saturday, who knows… but you’ve lost my goat cheese and yogurt purchasing… nicen’ up a bit… you’re not the only game in town… same goes for you” mr. I sell tasty pies and baked goodies”… man, trying to get any information from you as to what stuff is and how much it is is like, well… like trying to get a useful law passed through congress… pretty freaking hard… if you don’t want to talk, PUTUP A SIGN… if you don’t want to be there… then don’t BE there… while the farmer’s market had a decent selection overall of stuff. I much prefer the smaller and much more friendly poulsbo farmer’s market… bainbridge…i don’t know what your overall issues are… but get over yourself… I know I am…

The Farmers Market seems to just be starting to establish itself. There are more craft booths than food booths but I am sure that will change as more summer fruits and vegetables come into season. It’s a nice way to pass a Saturday morning — lots of people with lots of dogs — it is very dog friendly! Two highlights of the market for me were two prepared food booths. One was BiBBQ — really wonderful food served by a lovely crew of folks — usually, one finds a good BBQ place and while the meats and sauces shine, the sides fall short. . not these guys — the sides are marvelous — really, really superb. BiBBQ will deliver anywhere on the island so make sure to take advantage of that — they are great folks. The other is, well, I don’t know his name or the name of his booth, but I love him. He is «Pony-tail dude» with the most scrumptious baked goods — buttery cookies, light and airy scones — don’t miss the rosemary-cornmeal one — it is very, very good. A caramel pecan shortbread square that was buttery and luscious. The brownies are huge and chock full of walnuts and chocolate chunks with a nice espresso accent. My sister kept talking about the cupcakes all week and was heartbroken to find out that he didn’t have any the day we were there so apparently, according to my sister, if he has cupcakes, get ‘em, they are divine.. I also got some of the best broccoli rabe I have ever had at the Peresphone(sp?) Farms booth — it was tender and flavorful without any overly bitter edge — just gorgeous!
