My daughter and I visited for coffee and breakfast sandwiches, coffee was average, biscuit sandwich was good, not great. The selection of baked-goods was limited. The place is decorated very well and is comfortable w/plenty of seating.

Bainbridge Bakers… what’s going on? I’ve gone to this coffee shop for many years and I know they changed ownership in the last year. I’ve definitely decreased my visits and I’ll tell you why. The service is indifferent. The last couple times I’ve been in, the person taking orders is also the barista and will take several orders before any drinks get underway. Also, I asked if my shot could be pulled after the milk was steamed, and was given a cool look and told«don’t worry about it» flatly denying my request. One other thing that bugs me, is the last 3 times I’ve been in, I’ve experienced these types of service-related issues and the owner is sitting in the restaurant apparently oblivious or not concerned. There are plenty of other choices in Winslow. I’ll be going elsewhere. On the positive note, their decaf espresso is good. Update — June 2016 Was back at Bainbridge Bakers last week to give it another try. It was mid-day, around 1:20pm. One person behind the counter, owner/manager seated in restaurant, 3 groups of customers waiting to order. First group consisted of 5 adults ordering food + drinks, then a group of 3 and finally a single customer. I did notice another employee but he did not jump in to help nor did the owner. I was part of the group of 3 and gave up waiting and left without buying a thing. Sad.

Most people on «the island» probably know that this place changed hands last summer. The new owners are doing a fantastic job. Great food and baked goods — as always, good coffee and free Wi-Fi. Then top it off with friendly small-town service. Everything you want in a bakery/café. Plenty of seating and they don’t mind if you hang out. I often gather here with friends or business associates for casual conversation or meetings.

Great coffee! Lots of homemade bakery items. Tried two kinds of cookies, both delicious! Fare prices and friendly barista.

Today was my first time visiting the Bainbridge Bakers. I had a cup of coffee and the Cobb Salad. Both were great. My friend had a bowl of clam chowder which was fantastic too. I will definitely return the next time I am in Bainbridge Island.

Back in bainbridge so I am back to bainbridge bakers. Why does this place get three stars and the mediocre blackbird get more? On the plus side the line here is always reasonable while being awful at blackbird. Coffee and baked goods here are as good as it gets.

Writing this review solely for the SPECTACULAR cinnamon twist danish. Not sure that’s what it’s called. Ambiance was cozy and warm. Espresso drinks were ok. Service was ok. I will go back, whenever I get to the island again, specifically for that cinnamon twist. And this is coming from someone who isn’t a huge pastry or danish fan.

I love this place, especially under new management! The staff is friendly and the food delicious. I was here a few months ago when the power went out. They stayed open and continued serving customers like it was no big deal. I definitely plan to keep coming back!

Five stars to the owner and perhaps an upgrade to five for the coffee, food and ambience after I’m able to spend more time there. Only had quick espresso drinks with my friends, but we all walked away exclaiming that it’s a «keeper.» The place was virtually empty because of a local homecoming event going on up the street, so will come back to see what it’s like when busy!

We live in the area and avoid going to Bainbridge Bakers. Blackbird Bakery, down the street has better food and service. Way better. Our son and his family were coming over from Redmond and wanted to meet at BBs, so we did. It was the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and only ONE person decided to show up for work. The owner was no where to be seen either. The line was 15 deep when we were there. They couldnt make espresso. The girl said rudely to us(and can’t really blame HER) «I can’t do both! We got drip and when we went back for refills, they were out of that too. The quiche was barely warm but may have been good if it was hot. I am astounded that the owner let this happen. Back to avoiding BAINBRIDGEBAKERS once again.

This place JUST reopened with new owners and wow– it’s amazing! Same atmosphere, food and beverages as before, but just as friendly and welcoming as the old Bainbridge Bakers. Happy to have it back! Love my latte’s!

BB is awesome! Fast=No, Inexpensive=No Awesome=YES! Last week, I almost went to Bainbridge Bakers to get a pastry BEFORE my meeting at starbucks. No shortcuts are taken on BB’s baked goods. People visiting from out of town: Everything is slow on Bainbridge Island(especially the drivers!) so don’t expect fast service. DO expect some good tasting pastries and Bainbridge Baker’s three berry pie is worth killing for.

I stopped by with a local who lives walking distance to this place. I was visiting from California, and I swear I have gotten better service from a gas station attendant at am/pm. The quiche was good, and the coffee was O.K., but the customer service skills from the red head guy behind the counter left little to be desired.

Very bad place. Been there twice and have been hugely disappointed both times. First time I was doubled charged for a poorly made pie. By the time I realized the mistake at home, it was ‘too bad’. I was even over charged for the pan! This time, stopped by to pick up 2 slices of pie for after dinner. The heavy set tart behind the counter took the pie behind a wall and came out with a box. She said, «it was really 3 slices». Got home and found that it barely 1 ½ slices. And tasted horrible! Never go there.

We found this to be a great, old world feeling place. It was a busy with holiday shoppers, and carolers, and we had friend service. The drinks were well made, but took a bit of time. Really a nice place to sit and sip a drink on a cold, wet day.

We went here with 45 minutes prior to our ferry leaving. We wanted a few sandwiches for the ride. This seemed like a good idea. Turns out it was not. It took over 30 mins to have our sandwiches made to go(we barely made it on the ferry, we were running to the car). I had a tuna sandwich, my wife had a breakfast sandwich. They were definitely over priced for the quality and not worth the stress. Staff was not the friendliest(not rude, but not friendly). I would avoid going here unless you have plenty of time. Otherwise it’s a decent spot, nice interior space, and seems like a good place to meet up with friends. Many of the other patrons seemed to enjoy their time there. Cheers!

Everything is great! Fresh, well flavored, and like mom would make. Great atmosphere off the beaten path. Fantastic gluten free cinnamon role that does not taste gluten free(for all you faux gluten«sensitivity» people out there). Coffee could be a little stronger, will be back for sure. The sausage butter milk biscuit is AMAZING!!!

We stopped by on a ride to Barinbridge. I was hoping to leave happier, but left a little disappointed and hungry. We got the Breakfast Bowl. 2 poached eggs, spinach, tomatoes and bacon. For $ 8.75, I was expecting a much larger bowl. It was a ½ filled small bowl. Tasty, but I’m ready for breakfast now. Pretty surroundings and nice patio, though. Oh, and 98 cents for a refill on a small coffee. First and last visit.

This review is for the location in Winslow Green. Everything I said before still stands, nothing has improved. In fact it has gotten worse. They opened a new location about a half mile away so you’d think that would reduce the wait in this place. Exactly the opposite. The other day I stopped in and it was a full 30 minutes from the time I got in line to the time I received my luke warm coffee. Customer service was TERRIBLE. The gentleman at the counter was rude and short with people, cutting them off when they were speaking. The counter where they have napkins, cream, lids, etc. was out of almost everything. They handed me my coffee without a lid so I had to tell them they were out of lids and they handed me a stack and asked me to refill it for them. On more than one occasion they are out of anything I wanted. And I’d say 90% of the time I go in there for breakfast and order a quiche they tell me that they don;t have any ready yet… It’s 9:30 — 10:30 in the morning, not like I show up at 6am looking for these things. Ridiculous. I never thought I say this but I cannot wait until the new Starbucks opens. No more Bainbridge Bakers for me.
