Orange chicken is waaaaay too salty. The broccoli in the beef and broccoli aren’t fresh. Feel bad for the local diners.

Overall the price of the food is pretty great. I have to say they discount many young people without asking for a student ID which is cool. The food i must say is not the best but its not the worst. Its not my first to-go place when thinking of chinese but its good for its price!

Though the rice and noodles are a little bland(tempered with a bit of soy sauce), I love the orange chicken, pork spare ribs, chicken and mushrooms, and Japanese chicken from Hong Kong Express. I also like the hot and sour soup. I can order a three-meat plate with noodles and rice(or just chow mein) from Hong Kong Express for $ 1 less than it would cost me to order a two-meat plate at Panda Express, and a two-meat plate at Hong Kong Express only costs around 5 bucks. Great prices for the quality and amount of food received!

Fast service. The food is good. Noodles are great. Not too many veggies in them. Great portions. The broccoli beef is good the broccoli isn’t really soggy but o didn’t get much beef. The Japanese chicken has a nice spice and flavor. May be a bit to salty for some. The spicy chicken is excellent. Not to hot. But good spice. Prices are excellent and for that 4 stars

I love Chinese food and want to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, that’s why I waited until my third visit to review this place. So here’s my review: Best price-Worst food in Azusa. Not that it’s not edible it’s just the worst compared to every other Chinese place in the area, but it’s also the cheapest. So if you’re broke go for it.

Food is bland, wondering how people rate this place so high? It is next to a college, and they have a special with LOTS of food for under $ 5. Great deal, meh food. 2 stars because I went there a month ago and great big signs over the doors saying«Closed by the department of health», then listed some bad things found inside. For the price, if your strapped for cash or a student, this is an okay place if your willing to risk it.

A good value. Lots of food for a fair price. Average taste for Chinese fast food. Sometimes a long wait. But overall a good deal

It’s Chinese fast food. Not sure what else to say about it. It’s run by some people that are trying to make an honest living. I cooked rice and vegetables, so I tried ordering some Cantonese BBQ styled pork or «Chasiu» or «Cha1shao1» for the meat portion of my meal. The meat tasted old.

First time there, ordered the Kao Pao Chichen. Well only got about 3 pieces of Chichen nuggets… The veggies were good, but not worth the cost after all I was paying for(chicken)… And No Peanuts either… Found portions Small…

My daughter recommended Hong Kong Express so when I was in town we decided to give it a try. The server was friendly. The food was good and the portions were enormous(my daughter warned me but I was still surprised)!

Excellent prices, sides/items and deals! You get the bang for your buck here and the best Chinese fast food item staples I’ve had. Love love love way better than Panda Express and Twin Dragon. Top 3 Items I’ve Tried: 1st. Orange Chicken! Enough crisp and sweetness, with every bit of crunch you can taste. 2nd: Mapo Tofu. I love the hint of spice that seeps out from base of the sauce! Noms 3rd: The good ol’ Broccoli and Beef Note for all… ABSOLUTELYAVOIDTHEFRIEDRICE. I don’t know if it’s just the recent visit that I came to hong kong express, but the rice was either under cooked or dry? Stick with the chow mein noodles! :) Note: 15% off(Combo #2 after discount = $ 5.18) (My 100th review! Amazeballs!)

Nice folks, good customer service food is standard fast food Chinese, with orange chicken, kung pao, broccoli beef etc., but portions are huge– love the sweet, tender bbq pork… Wonton soup is a must… Fast and honest, no attitude… and really inexpensive too

The noodles are so bland, no flavor and too stringy. Every other entrée tastes bad. The string beans, way too wrinkly. no flavor. The fried rice isn’t that bad. Egg Rolls are mushy. Over all I’m not coming back. But the customer service is good. I have a feeling there soups would of been better tasting

Came for WonTon soup. Was very good! Large was $ 4.89 worth it, especially for the sick peeps waiting for it back at home. It included shrimp, beef and chicken and of course the WonTon :-)

this was a tough one… it’s between a 3 and 4 star rating. i’m going to go with a 3. i’m one of those people that likes to support small business but i think i’m just going to have to stick to panda express. in my opinion the fast casual chinese takeout chain just tastes a whole of a lot better. the food here is pretty mediocre and it takes a while to get your food because there’s only one person working on the line and that one person makes a customers plate and then charges them and keeps doing that for every individual customer, regardless if there’s a line or not. i will say that they’re are very generous with their portions, the restaurant is clean and they’re very polite here but that’s just not enough to keep me coming back for more. sorry hk express, i tried…

Still giving them three stars but today they were really a two-star place. The regular cook and the lady who is up front are on vacation for a while so someone else is filling in. The food is kind of meh and the folks up front are really not meant to be up front. The guy is nice enough. Thing is I asked him to give me the carrots in the brocolli beef also and he did not know what I meant! What? How can you NOT know the word carrot? Obviously a figurehead type. He also forgot the chopsticks, the cookie and the soy sauce. The lady they have temporarily is also kind of «attitude-ish». That’s the only way to describe her. She piled up the plate for the guy but gave us the bum’s rush(«c’mon, c’mon don’t have all day!») sort of deal. All I did was ask for some swt/sour sauce for my rice and you would have thought I told her to empty the register! The look I got. Yikes! Actually, the thing with the lady was on last time I went. I forgot and went with another person this week. Considering how busy they were cause of the falafel place having it’s grand opening the food was kind of lukewarm, not hot, and was not as flavorful as usual. *sigh* I will wait a month till the lady and her husband/cook come back before going back! 10÷17÷13 God save me I wish now I had just stayed away. They have had another turnover in staff and the front girl acts like she’s doing you a favor. You’re spooning up food into a styrofoam box, chicky. Anyone could do your job! Secondly, I was asking after a dish in a steamer tray because the green beans looked kind of sickly. It was after lunch rush so wasn’t too sure about them. She automatically ordered new ones w/o asking if I actually wanted them then got mad when I told her I was not going to have them! The guy had not started them yet.(Bout two second turnaround in convo) She got pissy cause she had to cancel them! Jesu! And Vianka is right about the noodles. Secondly, the steamed rice sucked today. It tasted like it had not been rinsed before they put it in the cooker. Everyone knows it has to be rinsed to get rid of the first layer or starch or it won’t cook right. Believe you me, it didn’t. I’m going to have to pay the jacked up prices at Panda up the street from now on. This place is not worth any 15% discount anymore.

Okay… Many times I review a place(either on Unilocal, another site or in my own mind) I take into account the customer service. When I come to a place like this, however, I want GOOD food and quickly so I can go home or back to work and wolf it down. That is exactly what I get here, good Chinese food and it’s fast and painless. The portions are larger than normal too! To go from a two entrée to a three entrée meal is only a buck more. The server is pretty much the only person you will deal with and they have the personality of a corpse, but that’s okay because I’d rather not get caught in a conversation. I/m here to get good Chinese food — fast… In all, a clean place with FRESH food to stop in and get a good lunch or dinner, and if you don’t have leftovers on a 2 – 3 entrée, your a pig because that’s a lot of food.

The BEST Wor Wonton soup. I kind of don’t want to tell other people about it, actually, because I don’t want you all to take it away from me, but I do need them to stay in business. So don’t eat all of the soup, okay? They serve the food buffet style(they serve, not self-serve) in a tiny store front with about 8 tables. When my husband is sick Wonton soup is the only thing he wants. And he’s from Alhambra, so he’s used to GOOD Wonton soup. This is where we get it. We ask for Wor Wonton, with all of the meat and vegetables in it, and they really pack it in. It’s all fresh vegetables with rich broth and great flavor, no skimping on the meat, perfect balance of ingredients. Actually, I always ask for an extra container of broth, they put so much stuff in it. I haven’t tried too much of the rest of the menu, what I have is pretty standard, but that Wor Wonton soup will keep us coming back regularly.
