I have been eating here forever. I am an Azle-ite, and it has always been my favorite Mexican restaurant. However, we ordered a meal to-go tonight and we were sorely dissatisfied with the quality. We had the beef enchilada dinners and chicken enchilada dinners. First off, the dinners used to come with guacamole, there was none. Second, the chicken enchilada had a whole chunk of chicken in each enchilada and could not be cut with a fork. They used to be shredded chicken. The list goes on, the food was cold, the chicken enchilada dinners had jalapeños, the beef did not. The beans tasted like garbage. The whole meal tasted like garbage. I cannot say how disappointed we are. Time to find another place to eat.

1st time here and I am very pleased with the service and the food. The salsa was a little bland for me, and hot(I prefer mild) but overall good. I would recommend improving on ranch(we had salads) and my husband and I love authentic ranch and not packets of it. Salad was good. Beef fajita meat was the best I have ever had. Waiter was very attentive and made sure drinks stayed full, and even that I had extra ice to my preference without me asking! Thanks!

Always good food and great hot sauce. The bar area is small but super friendly staff and good atmosphere.

You could not pay me to eat here again. There was a small cockroach in our chip basket.(I quietly ask the great waitress to take the basket to the the back and look for it) Then she came back to our table and stated there was no bug in there. I was with a friend on her birthday and we ate, although you need to know. We own a pest control company and I sure we’ve seen plenty of cockroach“s.

USED to love this place, but the last two times we’ve been… the food was horrible. We had friends come down from Arizona and wanted them to try, what used to be, our favorite Mexican Restaurant. We were embarrassed by that decision. A few months later, I talked my husband into going back to give it one more try. For some reason I didn’t want to believe this business would let go of quality food and service. I convinced myself it must’ve just been a bad day, and we happened to be there. Our second chance trip to El Paseo in Azle, made Taco Bell look like fine dining. Something has definitely changed here in the last year and I know we will never go back again. Not a snowballs chance. The waitress was extremely loud. Ok, that’s annoying enough… but has nothing to do with our food. It startled me every-time she walked by and spoke, I literally jumped if I didn’t see her coming. That would be meaningless if the meal had been good. We aren’t picky but something about slimy lettuce on a Mexican platter that was served to us, and isn’t what was ordered. We told the waitress, she offered to take it back… but then one would be eating and the other would be waiting for their food. No, we told her it was ok. I wish I had just told them to take both platters back and we would pay for the drinks. The beans were dry and flattened out to make it look like a lot of beans. Not edible even when mixed with the bland rice. The Cheese enchilada, and two tamales were the worst I’ve ever eaten. My husband ate half of his meal and said… lets go. We paid and tipped well. They got their money and we got a dirty table with nasty food. Old lettuce and tomato. We’re done with you El Paseo.

I always order the tamales… They are always good. The staff is nice. The cocktails are decent. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. The chips and salsa are always fresh… We continue to visit them when we want Mexican food close to home.

Good, affordable Mexican food with great service. I’ve been here several times, now, and am always surprised with how fast and attentive the servers are. They also have the coldest Negra Modelo on tap!

The food is very good for the price and the service is quick and friendly! The portions are larger than your average chain restaurant like On-The-Border, and the food is a little more authentic and better quality. It’s not the fanciest or most expensive place, but if youre craving some Tex-Mex this is a great place to eat!

I have only tried two mexican places in this town. This one is much better than the other one across town. I loved their hot sauce here! The lunch specials are perfect portions and price. You can adjust them if you like too. They are very flexible here.

El Paseo used to be the best around. It has gone down hill quick. The services is horrible! Waitstaff is rude, slow, and untrained. Spoke with a manager and he didn’t seem to care about everything but getting back to the kitchen to cook! Waitstaff seem to run the place.

Bleck! Tried eating here twice. Let me emphasis I tried twice. I gave them a try based on the amount of cars in the parking lot. I guess Azle just doesn’t have that many picky people. You’ll find much better Mexican food a block away at Taco Bell. It’s just gross. Sorry, that’s just the only way I can describe it. If you want«better» maybe not the«best» but better authentic Mexican food… head down the road on Boyd and find El Cerrito.

the best Mexican food in azle!!! Friendly always welcome even if you come in ten minutes before they close. The food is yummy. I have the cheese enchilada’s and the salsa is good. My hubby eats the steak Ranchero. I wouldn’t change anything

I have been going to El Paseo Mexican Restaurant for years, and the food quality has been going down for year’s .At one time everything was fresh and tasted like true Mexican food, now it’s just another Tex– Mex restaurant like anywhere else. The place is dark and DIRTY, I believe the carpet has been in there for ten years or more. The service is just HURRY and HURRY. Time to find another Mexican Restaurant.

I love this place, I’ve eaten at 2 of them and they are great. The chips and salsa are awesome. We go here at least once a week.

Bland salsa. Bland food. I think people tend to eat here because of the lack of other options in Azle.

My absolute favorite hot sauce anywhere. When we drive by I make my husband drop in and get me a to go order..(luckily we don’t go by that often) Their queso is wonderful! I usually order the tortilla soup and it is flavorful and healthy and full of yummy vegetables and spiced just right broth! I also highly recommend their beans! They only have one style here and they have a great flavor(no soupy beans or mashed refried) Off the beaten path and worth a stop in!

Not a fan. Salsa is the real tomato pasty kind. Queso– fail. Like cheese sauce from the can! Really greasy and heavy. I’ve tried the tacos– bland. Enchiladas-bland, little or no cheese inside, only on top(?). If we must go here– I get the nachos– and I can’t eat much. Fast service. Clean atmosphere.

I love Mexican food — in fact it’s one of my fave types of food to eat — however, this place wasn’t that great — not horrible, but I’ve had better … I will say though that the atmosphere and our waitress were excellent~ but I would pick another place if possible Mango margarita was BEAUTIFUL though — too bad it didn’t taste as good as it looked :)

A lot of people I talked to while living in Azle didn’t like this restaurant. I don’t really get why. This is a pretty nice place. Good food, good service. Very nice interior décor & atmosphere. Not the BEST Mexican I’ve ever had, but definitely satisfying. Props!
