Love love love the atmosphere!!! The baked goods are amazing!!! I hope to order the deserts for my next family get together here!

This is the only place I buy macaroons from, they’re so delicious and perfectly done. It reminds me of a little bit of France — and the décor here is cooky and the owner is sweet.

Clearly, I’m not Spellbound. The reason? I have not actually been able to taste the treats here. Each time I have attempted to come here, the shop has either not been stocked or is closed, more often than not closed.
A couple of months ago, my friend and I stopped in right when it opened. We were told they had nothing ready. Really? A bakery that just opens and has nothing ready to be sold? We have tried back several other times, but found each time the shop was closed when it was said to be open.
My latest attempt was this morning – Small Business Saturday. I wanted to support a small business (clearly), but as I walked to the door I found a sign stating the shop was closed. I follow the bakers on Instagram, and saw pictures being posted this morning. It should have said on the captions of these pictures that the Avon location was closed (if they were pictures of the goods at the South Windsor shop), or at least notify a prospective treat-​goer and small business-​supporter that one location is closed so as to not have to actually call the shop each time a trip is attempted.
I doubt – no matter how good the treats or the efficiency and greatness of the service are said to be – that I will be back to Spellbound – either location – anytime soon because of the trouble I have had actually getting to the goods they sell (or say to).

The treats here are delicious. The toffee bars and salted caramel frosting are the best. The customer service is ok. I go in there knowing that I’ll grab something yummy to bring home but not expecting to be greeted by an enthusiastic individual. We ordered a cake from here and it was the hit of the party. Everyone thought it was amazing… and it was. When I picked up the two-​tiered cake, I had to carry it to my car myself, which was fine. However, they didn’t even offer to open the door for me as I was carrying it.

What a great option for sweets to bring home! Lots of choices, lots of fun, worth the trip to this special place, just off the main streets of town.

We stopped by this morning to try some little treats — chocolate chip cookie, canolli cupcake, and a chocolate plum macaron. All was excellent. I also grabbed a coffee, which was good.
The treat selection is big without being overwhelming. The décor is whimsical, but it’s clearly more of a place to come in for big orders than a café where you come to chill. There’s just one large table, though I noticed a few chairs out front in the grass too. If I were planning a party, I would definitely think of this spot for the dessert.
I only tried the macaron, and it was delightful. Maybe the best macaron I’ve ever had. The filling was flavorful without being overly sweet. The shells were light as air, with just a light crunch. Kids devoured the cupcake & cookie and proclaimed them delicious.
Service was friendly, and patient with our slow decision making. My only complaint was that there seemed to be only one size and option in the coffee — hot drip in a grande sized cup. This was fine, I just like to have options. This is clearly not the focus, though, and that’s fine.
We will definitely go back, especially for a big order.

We had a box with two truffles (hazelnut and peter rabbit) as our wedding favors. From the beginning Miriam was very responsive to my emails and always very sweet! The truffles were to die for and we received numerous compliments from our guests on them! They were deliciously tasty and delicate :)
I just wish the second location she is about to open was closer to Stamford. I would probably stop by the shop at least once a week!

If you are looking for a high end pastry shop from the heart, look no more. Everything here is meticulously prepared by owner and her staff. I fancy NY pastry shops, this is definitely up there in scale. 5 Stars are too little too give! Keep in mind they make everything from scratch which is very difficult to find so the price reflects that. Worth every penny.

I don’t even like sweets but went in with a friend who does. I was stunned at how good the truffles were. Fillings like peanut butter, coconut almond or red velvet cake underneath a very thin layer of dark, white or milk chocolate. Very unique in style and in taste. I also don’t know how much this type of candy usually costs… but it is the PERFECT gift idea. (their truffle box & bow are first class too)

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn’t be. And what it wouldn’t be, it would. You see?
The sweets are incredible. Biscoff truffle? Yup. Passion fruit macaron? Best I’ve ever had. Had a Nutella one too. Guess what? I had a burnt butter macaron too! I have never been disappointed with anything I’ve bought here. Best truffles and macarons I’ve ever had. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast!
Whoever has helped me has always been smiling and a pleasure to speak to and deal with. The entire layout is curious and curiouser! It’s Alice in Wonderland.
How long is forever? Sometimes, just one second.

This place is a hidden gem! The peanut butter cookies are so flavorful without being dry, all of the bars are delicious, but the macarons are my favorite. The macarons are worth every penny and the variety of flavors they come in are always great! The service is friendly and quick as well. I even got a birthday cake from there a year ago and it was perfection. I love this place!

We used TBS for our desserts for our wedding– Miriam and her team are the IDEAL VENDOR. The cake/​cupcakes/​treats and ESPECIALLY the Macarons were AMAZING. Her prices were more than reasonable considering the quality of her ingredients and how delicious and beautiful everything came out.
Also important to note– Miriam responds back to emails within hours. She is a far better businesswoman than most wedding vendors we encountered. She and her team are so hardworking– have a eye for attention to detail, and are so sweet, gracious and unassuming. Every dessert at our wedding looked like it could have been in GreenWeddingShoes Blog post. Miriam hand delivered our desserts herself to ensure everything was perfect and that we were satisfied.
I would highly recommend this business to any bride (or party planner) — miriam was so easy/​pleasant to work with, exceeded my expectations, and by far our favorite vendor for our wedding. If i could give her 6+ stars I would.

I love the idea behind this place. Combining things that are both delicious and aesthetically pleasing. The owner of this place is super friendly and talented. The combination of flavors is well thought out and different than anything you will find. This place is highly recommended.

The shop itself is cute and the staff were nice. Unfortunately we weren’t very impressed with the baked goods. They weren’t bad just not that flavorful.

Stopped into this little gem last Saturday afternoon to pick up a tasty treat for my son. Ended up picking a vanilla cupcake with chocolate buttercream frosting and sprinkles on top! What kid doesn’t love sprinkles. To my delight cupcakes were buy one get one free! On top of getting a great deal the cupcakes were amazing! The woman in the shop was sweet and it was an adorable little place. I love shopping local! Supporting a small business like this is easy when it’s so good! If you have a chance stop in and get a treat!

ordered a cake that was beautifully decorated… but that was about all it was…
It was supposed to be filled with fruit but barley had any and what little fruit that was inside wasn’t ripe… peaches where hard.
I also found that the frosting was a bit overwhelming. If I’m going to spend fifty dollars on a birthday cake it better be the best darn cake I’ve ever had… it wasn’t.
We were considering giving them another chance as we have another birthday coming up so I decided to check out the website. Wanted to see if they have a photo gallery of different types of cakes and ways they «decorate.» There are more photos with the owner then the actual product they sell. I then went to the Facebook page only to find even more photos of the owner. Tho there were more pics of cakes on the Facebook page I find that the cake decorating seems a bit limited with mostly just swirls. It’d be nice to see a variety of cakes decorated different ways and less photos of the owner. I only have interest in the product they are selling (which is sub par) not the owners photo shoots.
After checking out he website and Facebook page we changed our minds and decided to go to harvest café. Seems the owner is more stuck on themselves then they are producing quality product. It’s not cute and completely turned us off from wanting do business with them again.

I love when local places run by up-​and-​coming bakers get going. This place has all the signs of a great one.
We’ve gotten more cupcakes here than I care to confess. All are delicious. Service is great too though most of their business is a take-​out one.
Best of all, they do custom cakes. The salted caramel frosted one is outrageous.
The prices are a little high, but for this quality and to support a local business, it’s worth it!
P. S. The owner, Miriam, is as hard a worker as you will find. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve purchased cookies (chewy peanut butter cookies? YES, PLEASE) and other delightfully delicious confections at Taste. Yes, the confections are a bit pricey, HOWEVER, my beer pockets think that it is money well spent. That being said… my birthday cake… dark chocolate cake with raspberry filling and dark chocolate frosting… to say it was magnificent is a gross understatement. It was so good that my best friend is insisting we get her that cake for her birthday.
RUN, don’t walk for magnificent cookie, cake, cookie bar goodness!
