Old Bobs

What a quaint place! So unique. Love the patio furniture and reasonably price too. However, their knowledge of birds and bird seed is amazing. I have found a new place to buy my seed and feeders. Thank you Old Bobs! –Mike Baukert

Old Bobs should be renamed «Old Josh’s». Grumpy owner with a chip on his shoulder. Once he found we weren’t interested in his wallpaper stock from his store, he lost interest in helping us. Several times he asked us if we were finished or that we could take the books home to review and we kept telling him we wanted to order. Total time in the store was 35 minutes, with only an elderly couple present throughtout that time. We did order specialty wallpaper from a book at the store, but we won’t go back.

Well. I don’t know where to begin. I guess I’ll mention the less than friendly employees. Whatever. The main point of this is their framing and treatment of your items. To begin with they used out dated materials. Still not a big deal. But, I had a couple items framed there that had not only sentimental value, but also monetary value. I had a couple things framed here and they damaged the items. The framer (s) have no clue how to properly mount an item with out placing adhesive all over your item. Which, damages it. they ruined a couple of my items that meant a lot to me. I emailed them several times about this and got no response. So, please do yourself a favor if you have an item needing custom framing. GO ELSWHERE!!! Michaels in Avon does a great job and even costs less. But these guys are a joke. Poor customer service, and they don’t know what they’re doing with valuable items and framing. Please don’t take your keepsakes or valuables here only to have them damaged

The Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library had an extremely last-​minute need for a very large framing job for some artwork of great value. Old Bob’s worked through the night to get it done for us, and it was beautiful. Thank you, on the library’s behalf!

Old Bob’s is a wonderful store where you’ll find many more items than I can mention in this review so stop in. A few of my draws to Old Bobs is they are Indy’s largest in-​stock wallpaper store, one of the largest wild bird supply store in the region plus offering quality storage buildings, garages and cottages. The staff here is fabulous and extremely knowledgeable about all of their products. All of their products are high quality and their priced competitively. I trust their opinion and feel confident I’ll master drawing and caring for the wild birds I adore watching in my own backyard or whatever project I’m working on this month.
Old Bobs opened in 1975 and I began shopping here in 1980. With the years of service they’ve provided and the products I’ve purchased, I know from experience I can highly recommend their products and services. They built a LARGE storage barn on our property with great care and focused on the tiniest of details. Their Cottages/​Cabins, also built on site, are beautiful and perfect nestled into a quite garden or vacation spot. Check out the pictures on their website. I’ve also purchased many rolls of wallpaper from the large in-​store selection along with many framing projects. Just yesterday stopped in for bird seed and thanks to great assistant and bird knowledge from Skip, walked out with my 3 lbs. of bird seed along with a new hummingbird feeder, wild bird cedar feeder and a nesting house. If not enough, I returned the next day to pick up a large bag of another type of bird seed. Trust me; they know how to care for your birds and how to attract the birds you love. It’s already working!
So whether you’re looking for all the aforementioned items or playhouses, polywood outdoor furniture or just a basketball goal, you’ll find helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff at Old Bobs.
