We went in on a Sunday evening to get a couple of drinks and sit on the deck. The deck was open seating, and we picked a seat under an umbrella and waited. And waited. And waited. 15 – 20 minutes later after the table next to us had been brought their food and asked if they needed water refills we hadn’t even been acknowledged. Needless to say, after 20 minutes of being ignored we left and went to a restaurant down the street and were given excellent service. Would NOT recommend Montana Smokehouse.

The Montana Smokehouse is a great place to go if you are really hungry and want a giant sized meal. I ordered the Blue Corn Fried Catfish and it came out on a plate the size of a serving platter. The food was hot and delicious and the service was quick and friendly. If you love BBQ and want a meal fit for a king, then head on down to Montanas Smokehouse!

From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted and told to sit where we wanted. The waiter was very friendly and quick to take our order. Soon after we ordered our food was served hot. The portions were very generous for the price. I had the smoked chicken sandwich was just and hot with every bite the rub they had on the chicken was delicious. i enjoyed the Parmesan fries and coleslaw that came with the meal. The only down side of this restaurant is that that they didn’t have air conditioning. Really enjoyed the great food and service that we received.

I’m from Memphis, the home of BBQ and everything on the menue is authentic and Memphis-Approved. Check out their entertainment after 10 as well. Great place to eat then dance the night away.

I loved my experience at Montana’s! I am In town visiting and after trying to find an open restaurant, my boyfriend and I settled on the smokehouse. What a great decision! I had the blackened chicken sandwich and it was delicious. We also ordered the fried pickles and they were very satisfactory. I would definitely go back.

Great brisket, great sauces! Enjoyed every bite. Well worth a visit if you find yourself in Avon. Great price too. Did not disappoint.

I really wanted to like this place but there are two things that keep me from giving a higher rating. This was the worst BBQ I have ever eaten. I had the brisket and it was VERY dry and flavorless. My wife had the salmon and described it as «ok». She did enjoy their homemade Bloody Mary. The prices are outrageous but I guess it is to be expected for being in the vail valley. Service was good but I wouldn’t go back because of the food and price.

Stopped in for a few beers and some appetizers. Great beer selection. Had the grilled avocado which was amazing… I’d go back just for the avocado. So creamy and flavorful. We also had their creamy corn/bacon soup which was like a bacon and potato soup with corn. Awesome!

Was impressed with the quality of the food considering it’s a casual smoke house. All the food we tried was awesome(Mac n cheese, colorado salad, brisket, ribs, corn bread, crusading sprouts) and all for a great price. They also have an awesome patio our front for the nicer weather. also have good beer on draft and service was spot on!

Okay… So it’s like 9:45pm and every place is closing and this joint is open until 2am. We’re starving, so this is the pick. Note: it quickly turns into a party around 10:30… Food was great! The fried pickles were hands down the best decision of the night… I’m not gonna lie, I was tipsy when I arrived, so maybe it’s not as good as I think… but whatevs…

Surprised to get tough brisket at a bbq place. Philly cheesesteak also bad. Must have been an off day. They were nice enough to comp the brisket.

After an exhausting day on the slopes of Beaver Creek without a lunch break, we decided we really needed some BBQ for dinner. We found Montana’s in Avon when we scanned the selection nearby on Unilocal. We called Montana’s for reservations and were told they didn’t take reservations unless we were six or more. Luckily we were six! We showed up on time and were seated immediately near the bar area(which was understandable given the way the restaurant is laid out around the bar). Since winter weather around here is pretty cold, the outdoor patio wasn’t an option for us this evening. The restaurant itself was a bit noisy due to the bar and the surrounding hard surfaces, but there was also a number of TV’s nearby. That was OK with us since it made it easy for us to locate the game we were looking for. Menus appeared and we ordered drinks and food immediately. The food we ordered came out quickly and we were amazed at the quantity we received. The mains plus several sides(e.g. macaroni, cole slaw, etc.) made the overall quantity provided more than we could handle in one sitting! Bottom line, the drinks and ribs we ordered were excellent, and we all agreed the service was quick, polite and very enjoyable. One very important tip… make sure to order the corn bread — which is to die for! Best of all, the price for what we got(dinner and leftovers for lunch the next day) was quite reasonable.

After a day of skiing we wanted some BBQ within walking distance and decided to try Montana’s. We were seated immediately and were in like with the ambiance. The lighting is low, which made it hard to read the menu but nothing the light from a phone couldn’t fix. The 5 of us ordered things ranging from the parmesan fries, macaroni, fried shrimp, pulled pork, ribs and brisket. Drinks were flowing and the food came out hot and fresh. We were surely happy with our choices and ate every bite. They have a variety of sauces for the meat, be sure to sample each one to figure out your favorite. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. The wait staff was very helpful and nice.

We have been here twice over the past week and loved it both times. First, the service was great. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. Second– try the grilled avocado. It was amazing. The sauces they make were great, too! We will definitely be back!

There are a few times in life when a meal makes you feel like you are in heaven, tonight was one of those times. The shrimp Quesadillas made with baked zucchini were out of this world. It is in the appetizer side of the menu, but it was the size of two meals. The waitress was helpful, knowledgeable, and was constantly aware of our needs. Recommend this place to everybody that likes to enjoy a good restaurant.

Had just finished hiking hanging lake, stumbled painfully into the hotel, managed to shower my body enough to be presentable to the world, and walked to the nearest restaurant. This was that place. Needless to say we earned some calories on that hike. –Fried cheese curds were, well, predictably delicious –Maybe even better were the fried artichokes. And that aioli is fantastic –Burger? Good burger –Pulled pork on a salad? Wouldn’t have guessed, but it worked Ambiance was very weird this given night. The place couldn’t decide if it was a cozy mountain restaurant or a full-blown rave with 9 whole people bumping the dance floor. No designated smoking areas, so a lot of my food ended up tasting like similarly like smoke. So that sucked.

Yum! Went in on the 4th of July for some BBQ, and had a very filling, tasty meal. The staff was friendly and funny, and we chose to enjoy the perfect weather on the patio. Started with the fried pickles — they ROCK. I had the Lil Miss Piggy(pulled pork sandwich) on a brioche bun which was really good, side of macaroni and cheese which was DELICIOUS, and shoestring fries. The fries were pretty good but they did need a little salt. My husband got the pork ribs, beans(tasty), cornbread(a little dry TBH), and fries with macaroni and cheese also. Haha. We uh… we went big. A really solid BBQ meal. I would return!
