Walmart Supercenter

This beast is not your everyday Walmart but a Supercenter. This is a huge place that’s trying hard to be all things to everyone. That will never happen but they still do a darn fine job.
Here are a few tips that will help you–
Tip #1– This place is so huge that it’s important you learn the layout at least enough to park near the correct door. Otherwise it can be a damm long walk to what you need.
Tip#2– As you’re trekking down the aisles, watch out for folks crawling on the floor, gasping for breath and begging for water. These are the folks who tried to hike to the back of the store without properly hydrating first!
Tip #3– Like most FL markets, there is a beer and wine aisle. In addition to this there is a separate liquor store to the far right of the complex. Heads up; it has different hours due to Florida’s liquor laws.
Tip #4– Highlands County has one of the highest average ages in the state. Some of these senior folks push a cart and speed along about one foot ever hour or two. BE PATIENT. That will be you some day!
Overall the place is spotless and very nicely merchandised. The prices are great and sometimes fantastic. I count these folks as a very valuable addition to the area.

This isn’t a new Walmart — the FTR was in 2011 — but it sure feels like a new Walmart. It was clean, it was well stocked, and it was bright. Wow, this is what Walmarts are supposed to be like.
I only needed two things and I was able to find them quickly and pay for them promptly.
It was surprisingly not busy on a Monday morning but wow.

I’ve been to some pretty crummy, run-​down, Walmarts. This is not one of them. It’s only been in the area for a couple of years; but the place is well-​kept, clean, and stocked.

Yes, it has everything you could every need here under one roof, that’s the only plus. This location is ALWAYS packed so bad that it is an annoyance just to shop here.
I challenge you to go to this store for one item and not walk out with at least $ 100 in items. I get swindled into buying a bunch of sh! t I don’t need every time I go!

Organized, *CLEAN*, huge, gigantic selection. Great store, well managed, wish I had a Walmart like this one where I live.

Hard not to love this place, thankfully it is only a mile and a half east of us!

As far as Walmart’s go, this location has everything! I just returned to Avon park after leaving the place for 5 – 6 years to move to Cali, and apparently this behemoth just got built recently. I wish I had this place around when I was growing up. Has a pharmacy, auto center, fresh produce, grocery area, outdoor and garden, everything. Big parking lot too. Good spot for a walmart in the middle of nowwhere.
