Westlake Eye Care has a great staff. I was in and out in no time compared to other eye care locations I’ve been to in the past. The paper work you typically need to full out as a first time patient was emailed to me and I was able to have it done and filled out before I arrived. Great place that I suggest going. Thanks.

I walked into the Westlake eye care off of Nueces and the team there really helped me to find the right glasses. This boutique offers superior quality service right in the heart of downtown.

All new equipment, excellent staff, the latest styles and brands. This is my new home for eye care.

Just had a really delightful experience at Westlake Eyecare — From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, they were all so incredibly friendly and took GREAT care of me! The receptionist explained things thoroughly and didn’t rush me, but still got me in on time– the technician Elizabeth was bright and warm– and quick and thorough with all the tests– and Dr. Lechlitner was super sweet and gave me a great lesson on how my eyes are made and what she could see with the photos they took. I left feeling like I knew everything about the eyes– it was great! Don’t listen to the groupon reviews– those were solely for people looking for cheap frames. This is an upscale boutique selling upscale frames, y’all. In Westlake. And by golly those Prada frames sure DID look fabulous!

My vision appointment went well but the groupon deal was a total sham. The deal called for 150 bucks off eyewear and other discounts and since I am out of pocket, I thought «why not?». When it was all said and done, the frames and lenses were still so overpriced that I could have bought Prada or Dolce and Gabana frames and full lenses with all the trimmings elsewhere for a lower price (even with the groupon discount at westlake included). I was also very disappointed in the extremely limited selection of frames they have to choose from as well. I ended up getting my prescription and leaving disappointed. The doctor is lovely and does a fine job, but their groupon deal left me with a horrible taste in my mouth. I felt like they gave me a discount on something they had jacked the price way up on first, and whether that is true or not, that is how it looked. You can get a much larger selection of frames and better pricing elsewhere.

Dr. Kaufman and her staff are always prompt, thorough and friendly. Every time I have a great experience and strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a great eye team in Austin.

Dr. Kauffman is a total gem, so thorough and approachable. Her staff is friendly and very professional. I started going here because though I loved my former optician his staff was really bad, they were always late, unfriendly and made tons of mistakes. I couldn’t be happier with changing to Westlake Eye care, it’s a beautiful, comfortable office and the staff? They’re really great! Highly recommend.

Westlake Eyecare is a small practice with very attentive staff. Dr. Kaufman always takes time to get to know you and explain her tests and recommendations. I also like their text appointment reminders and confirmations. I’ve been their patient three years.

I had an appointment today that went fantastic. This was my second visit to Dr. Kaufman and the experience was very consistent with the first. Everything was smooth, easy and pleasant. The administrative staff are very happy and friendly and work to create a positive experience.

Outstanding customer service and patient care. The office doesn’t feel like a doctor’s office – it’s chic and hip without being over the top. I appreciate Elizabeth’s email correspondence. With crazy work hours, I’m not available to pick up the phone, but I know Elizabeth is only an email away. Dr. Kauffman is wonderful, caring, and thorough, yet efficient. All the staff is friendly, it’s a good office environment, and has decent prices. They ship my lenses right to my front door!

I would like to highly recommend Westlake Eyecare. They have a great staff that is always helpful. Had an issue with my eye that was looked at by Dr Kaufman and handled without any pain or long process. Also, returned to buy glasses. Super easy process and great customer service. Do yourself a favor and allow Westlake Eyecare to take care of your vision and eye issues.

Westlake Eyecare is amazing. I have been to a few eye doctors in Austin and Dr. Kaufman surpasses them all. The staff is always on top of things and you never to have to wait. They have a great selection of eye wear that looks great and is covered by insurance! I will never choose another eye doctor again.

I see Dr. Kaufman every year for my exam and have had nothing but outstanding service. The glasses I got were exactly what I needed, fit well, and have lasted me long past what I expected. They were able to work with me to make sure I knew what insurance covered and I was able to pay for my entire visit with Health Spending Account funds.

Westlake Eyecare is the best! Not only did they help me figure out how much of the visit my medical and vision insurance would cover prior to the appointment, but they sent me appointment confirmation and reminder texts! I showed up early for my appointment and was seen right away. The staff are gentle, informative and patient during the eye exams and Dr. Kaufman was amazing. She explained everything and went over my new prescription.
The selection of lenses are good and there is a woman that helps you find the glasses that are best for you and she honestly had my best interest in mind! She let me take as much time as I needed to make my decision. My glasses were ready 6 days later and I walked in and she made sure that they fit and I was satisfied. The prescription and glasses are perfect, I could not be happier! It was pricey but definitely worth it for the spa-​like feel of the office, exceptional care, and outstanding results!

IF YOU HAVE A GROUPON, GET A REUND BEFORE COMING TO THIS PLACE. The environment and service is nice and all. One of the better eye place that I’ve seen in Westlake. Frame is like $ 150 at least which is pretty good but here is the catch:
All lenses are AT LEAST $ 350. It goes up to $ 700. Don’t come in here thinking you gotta groupon and save «150» off. No you’re gonna come in here and spend another $ 350 AT LEAST for a pair of glasses that are $ 70 (on lens) in other places. Trust me, I’ve been to other glasses place w a groupon and the max I spend is $ 150. But this place will be way higher than that. Good luck. Everything is good but I really don’t like this marketing tactic. At least be honest bout it. I’ll be happy to pay that amount but just be upfront and not «poof all of a sudden, here is the lens prices.» Obviously when you buy a groupon, most likely you are trying to save money and most likely don’t have insurance for eye care. Well if you’re trying to save money, don’t go to this place. If you are trying to pay for overprice lenses then this place is the place for you.

Katie Kaufman and her staff are extremely professional, competent, thorough and personable. I was fitted for new soft contacts that give me ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision when another optometrist told me I would need hard contacts. I am so glad I decided to get a second opinion. Due to the exceptional care given by Westlake Eyecare, I will certainly continue to use them for my vision services.

ALL ABOUT MONEY NOT QUALITY
Made an appointment for yearly exam (found them though Unilocal), 3 weeks to get in, once at my appointment immediately asked if I wanted their hi tech exam «extras» at $ 49 each or 2 for $ 79 «it would be better because you have light eyes and avoid dilation» and of course insurance doesn’t cover (I heard that to every customer who walked in), declined, had exam by «doctor» (actually an optometrist) then literally steered to the frame section with the «frame coordinator» and even though a very poor selection was convinced one pair was perfect for me. Yeah, I got suckered in and bought them. Also had exam for contacts and was asked if I wanted someone to instruct me on how to put them in. Since it had been a while I agreed it might be advantageous.
Reviewed the bill of $ 980.00 (missed the part about $ 30 for the contact instruction, which wasn’t even correct, I ended up taking them out and putting them in a totally different way I learned online!!!) and was told they would be ready in a week.
Returned a week later to pick up the glasses and I immediately told them they were too strong and the frames were as flimsy as a pair of $ 5,00 readers from Walgreens. Was told to «let your brain adjust» to the lens for a week and call us.
One week later still could not wear the glasses so called and told them. I could not see the «doctor» again for over two weeks!!! (after spending a $ 1000!!!)
Returned in two weeks and was reexamined by the «doctor», surly and with attitude” who stated «you can only return frames twice because you don’t like them.» I explained they were cheap quality and I wasn’t going to argue with her and her initial exam was not correct. More attitude and once again steered toward their frames «selection.» Picked another pair and waited again two more weeks for them. The frames are better quality but WAY overpriced (they sell online for ½ the price) and the prescription seems to be alright after two months dealing with this company.
Believe me, you and your pocketbook can do much better elsewhere and you might even end up with a pair of glasses in a normal 7 day time with a correct prescription.
Apparently because they are in Westlake they seem to think they can overcharge and give attitude to everyone who walks in the door.
AVOID THIS MONEY GRUBBING ENTERPRISE!

I give 4.5 stars. The .5 deduction is for prices. Other wise their service and professionalism was excellent. Location and office were in great order, condition, cleanliness etc… Staff very friendly.

I read all the positive reviews here and was so inclined to make an appointment for an eyecare exam with this physician two weeks out. I was running late to my appointment by 15 min and apologized and called to mention I’d be there in 15 min. They said that’d be fine come on in.
However, upon arrival I was told I needed to reschedule it was to close to their lunch time. Really?
This is not right, and the dr. should have honored their word. You do not treat your patients this way and I do not recommend their service.

Very Friendly staff. Nice facility. No wait.
