I have had one of the best experiences of my life dining at Vince Young steakhouse. I enjoyed the atmosphere, waiter, food, and wine and the overall experience was really outstanding. I can’t say enough about this place, the 22oz ribeye was cooked to my medium well perfection, and the wine ohhhh the wine, I had the best Moscato you could ever have and I couldn’t stop enjoying the continuous bubbles flowing to the top. Also I can’t forget one of the worlds best waiters on the waiting staff Malory he, yes he had lovely personality and really made the experience quite enjoyable, I can’t wait till the next time I dine here, my compliments to the chef and oh my just so wonderful thanks again Vince Young steakhouse, I will be back. Vince Young’s has a great atmosphere with attentive waitstaff and a wonderful wine list. All of that said — the real star of the show is the meat. They have so many choices of meat in so many price ranges, it is a bit dizzying but our two favorites are the rib eye — and if you want to go for it — the tomahawk rib-eye. The tomahawk is seriously the best steak we’ve ever eaten — it melts in your mouth and made me wonder what I have been eating before this! As a bonus, my husband is a UT alum and a huge Vince Young fan and we were able to meet him on one of our visits. He was very gracious to all of his fans and posed for pictures and was a very nice guy. I am sure that visit was my husband’s favorite by far! This is definitely one of our go-to restaurants for a guaranteed delicious meal and an overall lovely evening.

Ambiance: It was pretty dark in the back there. Dark purple walls with Texas decorum. Once you get passed the sparkly gold beaded curtains it gets pretty generic, and dark. I’m going to sit at the bar next time, they had some nice jazz band and it seemed lively and bright. Food: My friend really enjoyed his pork belly was perfect. My crab cake was ok. It was more of lightly toasted mushy crab salad tho. I won’t order it again. His farm to table salad was large and looked tasty. We both got the ribeye his bone in, mine bone out and covered in the crab Oscar. I love crab We were silently in delight with every bit of our steak. There was no talking. We also enjoyed the bacon Mac and cheese, broccolinni and potatoes a gratin. We had the chocolate cake for his birthday and it was all good. Our weighted was kind of loud and obnoxious in an ok way but very thorough and attentive. I will be coming back.

Came in first nights dinner after harrowing trip form Philadelphia. Service was great enjoyed the steak and came with Green Beans. I haven’t seen these in an age and they were fantastic. And the steak just as good. They have bar deals in happy hour as well.

I really wanted this place to be fantastic. We came on a night when I was totally jonesing for steak. It consumed me with want. Decided to come here as we had heard great of things. If you’ve heard good things, it can only be about the steak. We tried the bone marrow appetizer to find it lacking. The garlic butter was good but the marrow was bland. On to the soup/salad course. DONOT try the short rib chili. It can only be described as lackluster. The potato soup may as well have been a $ 1 can of progresso. The beet salad claims to be served with blue cheese, but that must have been a tease. Finally to the steaks… Those were almost worth the almost $ 50 each. They were well aged. They were moist. The sides we ordered: creamed spinach, Brussel sprouts, and sautéed mushrooms were like most everything else that we tried. Bland and definitely not worth the money. All-in-all for almost $ 300 I would expect a LOT more than we received. We won’t be back for a repeat performance. Next time I’ll go to Texas Roadhouse and save myself $ 250 for a similar quality dinner.

I’ve been to lots of the great steakhouses around the country from Tampa to NY, Chicago and even out west. VY Steakhouse ranks right up there. Biz dinner tonight — my first at this establishment. Impeccable service by our waiter Tim. It was a biz dinner — and he left us alone when he needed to and tended to us when we needed that. A true professional. Atmosphere was great. Food was fantastic. I had the Perfect 10 — as I tend to prefer grass fed over the grain finished beef. Perfectly cooked to medium rare as I requested. Farm to table salad and sides were also very nice. Manager checked on us — not needed but certainly not overlooked. Highly recommend this place and will be back.

…halibut. Divine. Russel Sprouts were only just ok. Dear Chef: Try roasting them thoroughly. …friend had the Mac & Cheese. Said it was«ok». The steaks looked yummy… nicely chatted.

The Vince Young Steakhouse has an aesthetic that makes it feel like more of a comfortable lodge or country club than your run-of-the-mill steakhouse. Along with an exceptional wine and cigar selection to compliment the food, this steakhouse sets itself apart from the competition the moment you walk through the door. Our first course was a combination of lobster rolls and a crab cake that was absolutely delicious. The butter poached lobster came neatly packed in soft brioche buns with a tarragon aioli and butter lettuce that really lighten up the pallet. The crab cake created a nice balance, providing a subtle kick with its jalepeno aioli. Following up the appetizers in true form, the Perfect 10 steak lived up to its name, with heart-melting sides including their sautéed corn and luscious mac and cheese, both topped with the steakhouse’s hearty house-cured bacon. Simply heaven in each bite. The deconstructed cheesecake was to die for. This unique rendition of one of my personal favorite desserts is made with a combination of mascarpone, goat and cream cheeses, and is served with a delicious streusel and fruit to give it an amazing tart highlight. This dish definitely scored a touchdown with this food fan.

We went here for a business dinner on a recent trip to Austin. It was my second time here, so I thought I knew what to expect, but I didn’t get a steak last time and it didn’t blow me away, so I knew I would get a steak this time. When we got there, Vince was hanging out in the bar. He was friendly and taking pictures with everyone. We had a reservation but still ended up having to wait a while for a table, but it wasn’t a big deal since we were all having a good time within our group. Once we got our table, our server ended up not coming over for 20 minutes, and then it was only after a member of our group went and mentioned something to the hostess. Again, we weren’t concerned as we were enjoying the company of our group. This time, I went with the filet. As a table we ordered several sides, all of which were great, but the bacon corn and and bacon mac and cheese were both incredible. The filet was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Previously, that title went to Lou and Mickey’s in San Diego, but not anymore. I can’t wait to get back to Austin to get another steak at Vince Young’s.

First I need to mention the service. They are stellar if not completely unbelievable in their dedication to their patrons. The attention to detail at this restaurant reminds me of the traditional Italian restaurants I love so dearly back in my Philadelphia birthplace. This is the greatest service I’ve experience so far in Austin, TX — and I can’t imagine anyone topping it. The Wagyu Kobe twelve ounce steak«Surf and Turf» special is what I decided on. And it didn’t disappoint. Seared and seasoned medium beef topped with the most delicious scallops, huge jumbo lump crab and jumbo shrimp together with a hollandaise sauce that perfectly tied all of those gorgeous proteins together. But wow was it ugly looking! :-D I guess you can’t do much with that type of plate to make it pretty. Amazing dinner. Highly recommended if you are feeling rich and want to impress.

Don’t know why I don’t check in and update reviews more often for my FAVORITE Austin restaurant, VY! Still our go-to restaurant for special occasions & entertaining out of town guests, as evidenced by reservations on OT. The service is just the best, even if our fave waiter isn’t there anymore. Just top notch service all around, including the guys who refill our water. Of course, the food can’t be beat – no words to describe the deliciousness of the food: from apps like shrimp cocktail & pork belly to main event(my fave is prime bone-in ribeye), I just love the Vince Young restaurant!

DELICIOUS! My family and I went to celebrate my Dad’s birthday and we had a wonderful evening! Our server Alex was fantastic and having worked in the service industry for the past 10 years, his service was excellent and probably some of the best I have ever received. He recommended some really great sides and great cuts of meat and joked around with my family and what not. Very personable. The host were accommodating as well and it was nice that the manager stopped by a couple of times to see how everything was. Overall a great experience and we will be back and we are looking forward to it!

Amazing steaks might be the best in Austin. Pretty good wine selection. Knowledgable staff. Great service. The reason for the four stars was cause they cleared my plate with good still on it and didn’t ask. Decent amount of meat studio left behind and I missin those bites!

Another exceptional visit! The service, food, drinks, ambience, has all been phenomenal! The child’s menu is perfect for my 6 year old and y’all providing her with an iPad to enjoy during our dining experiences has exceeded our expectations! Vince Young Steakhouse is by far my most favorite place to celebrate a special event or to just have a romantic dinner for two. By the way Jason did a spectacular job last night waiting our table! Best service thus far!!!

Best bone marrow I’ve ever had. The dry aged meats are out of this world. The ice cream sandwich is beyond delicious.

Located in Austin. There is a valet to get your car parked reasonably close if you can’t find parking like most of Austin. Valet can take forever. There is a penny coined bull and a picture of Vince Young to greet you. The host staff verified our reservation. We are seated shortly. Wait staff is somewhat timely to begin our beverage order and questions. We are fairly decisive with minimal questions as the various staff assisted server with water and the likes. Cornbread and rustic bread are offered. Breads were good with the shallot onion butter. Meal came reasonably timed. Waters consistently refilled. I ordered the Prime New York medium rare. Meat was seasoned with plenty of salt and flavor. A bit saltier than my liking but not horribly bad to dissuade from enjoyment. Meat came medium well. It was ok. My lady ordered a filet which was a bit salty for her preference. Medium well was requested. Came as desired. Friend ordered a porter house rare. It was rare, sized, and seasoned like the others. Sides ordered included the gratin potatoes, asparagus, and the macaroni n cheese. Gratin was creamy. Asparagus was balanced crispy and tender. The macaroni n cheese was crunchy with the bread crumbs. The sides were large enough for the five of us to share. Meals were ok overall. Pinch saltier for most of us. Meal was completed and staff cleaned the table. Waiter offered a dessert menu and showed up 15 minute later. No dessert was elected a check was requested and another 30 minutes before the bill was settled. Good: start of service, bread, and water refill. Priced right. Bad: slow to close check, bit salty was the meat, doneness of meat was suspect. Might come back. Who knows.

Nicely designed steakhouse — somewhere between modern and traditional. Front of the house was a bit off. The hostess wouldn’t just sit me and instead wanted to get all my contact info including phone number even though I was a walk in and said I was visiting Austin. The waiters were great though. They were fast, friendly, and helpful. I got a tomahawk steak which was beautifully presented. It didn’t taste dry aged or that well marbelized. There were parts cooked medium rare and others closer to medium though it was a huge 34 oz piece so I’m sure it’s hard to cook evenly through. I was just a little disappointed for $ 100+ for the steak. I’ve certainly had better ribeye and ny strip dry age for less($ 60 – 80). The sautéed mushrooms were okay though at $ 5 as an addition it was a good deal for a side. Maybe I just had too high of expectations.

Amazing. Didn’t know what to expect but service was outstanding. Thanks James for great recommendation on the surf and turf. Lobster tails were more than I expected size wise. $ 10 for an old fashioned at a steakhouse is completely fair. Drinks were great. Oh the asparagus with bernaise should be a staple for all dining. The perfect ten is well described on the menu. Great place! Although I did basically spend all the money I won on the ut rose bowl victory that Vince was qb for so I guess we are even.
