I thoroughly enjoyed my sub. I got the Tucci’s Turkey with spinach, red onion, tomatoes, hotsweet peppers and garlic mayo on wheat. They add provolone cheese, oil, vinegar & oregano to all their subs. I opted for no cheese, but took the other accoutrements. I had them make it with the Cajun tutkey. It was AWESOME! The bread was real italian bread with the chew and feel comparable to what you get in a good New Jersey or Chicago sub shop… yeah! Of course the meat is high quality since they use Boars Head. Veggies were fresh and fixin’s extremely tasty. My new favorite sandwich shop

Best Sandwich in the WORLD. Order the South side Gourmet Italian — «Tucci’s way» I wish they had a location in Buda /Kyle area.

Closest thing to a real hoagie that you’ll find in Austin. Skip Thundercloud and come here instead. The cheesesteak stinks, but that’s expected. The classic Italian and spicy Italian on white is the way to go.

Ate lunch at a different location today. It was very good. I had a spinach salad with Cajun turkey and Black pepper ham. The portion was just enough to satisfy, but not over stuff. The employees were very upbeat and welcoming. Great place for a great sandwich or salad.

Definitely one of Austin’s better sandwich shops. Tucci’s offers a variety of hot and cold subs, as well as regional(Zapp’s & «Dirty») potato chips. The pickles are garlicky and crunchy. Delicious. The ingredients are fresh and very high quality. If you usually frequent Thundercloud, Jimmy John’s, or Subway, you should expect Tucci’s to ruin your expectations for a sandwich(in a good way). What really separates Tucci’s from the rest of the pack for me is the excellent customer service. Every time I come in, the staff greet me and we make small talk while they get me taken care of. If you’re not sure what you want, they’re happy to offer recommendations. They seem like they want to be there, and overall it’s just a very different experience when compared to the sandwich shop chains I’m used to eating at. Honestly, the only reason I can’t give them 5 stars is because the inside of the shop could use some better decoration and the cost of a sandwich is a bit high in my opinion. You pay for quality, I guess. If you’re in the area, I recommend you stop by and try out the Philly cheesesteak. Get it fully loaded.

My husband has been telling me for years that this is the best sandwich shop in town, but unfortunately it is not close enough to my job for me to grab for lunch so it has taken me some time to be able to check it out. Finally my parents were in town and they were wanting a sandwich and we happened to be close to this Tucci’s location. We decided to check it out! To my surprise they were consistently busy the entire time I was in there. I ordered the Austin Club, Dad ordered the Italian Beef and my step-mom got the Tucci’s Turkey. Everything was freshly made to order. They are using Boar’s Head meat, which is total quality and some of the best you can get in my opinion. My sandwich was perfection and my parent’s were totally impressed by this little local Austin sandwich shop too. I will be back here for sure! I look forward to exploring more of the sandwiches they have on the menu!

This was one of the best pastrami subs I’ve ever had in my life! The staff is friendly and helpful. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Just had my first philly from tucci! Paid 17.86 for a skimpy philly cheese. This sandwich is a 9 dollar sandwich tops and that’s being nice. I haven’t felt this ripped off in quite sometime. Also I am from the northeast and I have been to Genos and jims in philly! This is a embarrassment to the cheesesteak. It tasted ok but not near the price. No value in this sandwich to me. This might be the most overpriced sandwich I’ve ever ate my whole entire life and I’m 35. This place is so dirt I had to come back and give them one star. avoid this place like its the plague.

Average rating of 4 ½ stars(w/165 reviews)??? Really??? Wow. I think my fellow Unilocaling Austinites need to seriously lay off the cannabis. You obviously came here hungry. There is absolutely no way I can give this place four stars. I was seriously let down. First of all, when I walked in the door, the placed smelled fantastic. I thought I was in luck! A true hole-in-the-wall find. My excitement stops there. And I mean slam-on-the-brakes dead stop. I asked the guy behind the counter what their specialty was. He said the Philly Cheesesteak. I was initially excited because that is exactly what I wanted. Man was I disappointed. It was no where close to what I was expecting. The sweet peppers on the sandwich overpowered the taste of the meat. There were way too many grilled onions on the sandwich. They were primarily used as a filler which would make this $ 10 lunch seem more than what it was. He claimed it would have plenty of meat. Nope. I was reminded of an old Wendy’s commercial, «Where’s the Beef?»(If you’re under 35, that joke is over your head.) I totally agree with Andrew D in his review that states that this place pales in comparison to Geno’s and Pat’s in Philly. If the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich here is their crim de la crim sandwich, I don’t want to try the others. I mean, c’mon man! I know this isn’t Philly. I knew not to expect the real thing, but what I got was not even close. To put it another way, I knew I wouldn’t get a Ferarri. I was hoping for something good… a Lexus maybe? What I got was a Prius… which come to think of it, I’ve seen a lot of those in Austin. If you found this review to be useful, funny, or cool, please let me know below. If not, you should read it again.

Just called south side to place an order for pick up. 1. The guy was so quiet I could barely understand him. 2. When he answered he was rude. All he said was south side subs… I didn’t know weather to hold, or if I could place my order. I love this place and the energy is usually pretty good. I request that you don’t place a pick up order. They probably don’t get a lot of phone orders…

Oh south Austin and it’s culture always bring a surprise. I’m familiar with Tuccis because of coupons and I pass it a lot when working down south. I had never cared to stop mainly because out of sight and out of mind is what happens. 12.09.15 I was in need of some vittles. After hopping on Unilocal and reading reviews, I figured why the heck not. I arrived and there weren’t many folks around at all. Including staff and myself a total of 8. No indictment on the place just thought more people would be around. I informed the cashier it was my first time and he suggested a few items. I eded up with the special of a chicken Philly cheese, chips and drink. I left to go somewhere and chill while I ate. As I drove I ate a few chips and that was a mistake. I had a taste I haven’t had in years across my tongue. Sure enough I get to a eating spot, looked at the back of the bag… peanut oil. Crap thankfully I only ate a few. I proceeded to my sammich and I was surprised by it. It wasn’t bad at all and the bread held up well. The soda tasted a bit to carbonated but I managed. I have had better but not the worst experience by far. I would return but it wouldn’t be a top of the list pick.

Today was our first time trying this place out. It for sure did not disappoint at all. I got a hot sub, the grilled garlic Bologna. It was exactly was I was looking for out of a sandwich today! The chipotle mayo it came with just put it over the top. The bread was toasted and delicious. The boy got a southside gourmet Italian. It was a cold sandwich and equally as delicious. It comes with prosciutto, capicollo, black pepper ham, Genoa salami, and veggies(lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and peppers). Clearly they jam pack these suckers. They really have anything for whatever you’re craving. We also got an order of the cheesesteak soup. It was a good sized side for I think $ 3.50. Definitely go for that cheesy goodness if they have it that day. My only complain was that the dining room was pretty dirty. I’m not sure if they had just gotten done with the lunch rush when we got there but it could’ve used a sweep and a wipe down. This is what kept me from giving it five stars. Will come back to try another menu item soon.

Damn this place is good. Their gourmet Italian sub is the shiz. My mom is from upstate NY and she found this place and thinks it’s hands down the best sub shop in Austin and I agree. Drop subway like they’re hot and check out this place next time you want a sandwhich! #nom

Shout out to Travis the Italian hoagie master. My first time here and far from my last. He helped me design the Italian turkey sub that will forever change my view on other Italian subs. It was truly amazing! He started his greeting out with what type of sandwiches do I prefer. My response was turkey On wheat and like a skilled ninja Travis was started with his culinary tool of choice. Slicing and dicing the bread to a perfect 7″. Then the lettuce, peppers, the darkest juicy red tomatoes, MEAT and cheese. What’s this, Travis the culinary ninja has a wizard potion making talent to conjure the perfect Italian topping out of vinegar, oil and oregano. Wow! He knew I was impressed gave me an elbow bump. Like a true pro. This is a fun sub shop gotta check this place out.

Was sitting at the traffic light and saw the sign for this place and thought to give it a try. It’s in an unassuming shopping center, but don’t let the exterior surroundings fool you. Walked in and thought I was in NYC. KRS1 and Boogie Down Productions blasting from the radio made it even more authentic. They have a huge selection of hot and cold subs. Soups only during the fall/winter. I tried the Gourmet Italian and the Gramma Max’s Hot and Swiss. These guys are not stingy with the meat. They were piled high with good cuts of meat. They come in 7-inch and 14-inch sizes. The staff warn you that the 14 is enormous. I take a away one star due to the fact they don’t wear gloves. That’s just a personal nit picky thing. Then again do the sub shops in New York wear them?

After a long day of hiking, it is time to «treat yo self»(Parks and Recreation). I took the longer way home and I was looking for something with quality and quantity, and Tucci’s is on myYelp bookmark for a long time, so I decided to give it a try. I didn’t order any fancy, Jalapeño and Cheese-steak, for me. It was freshly prepared and it was delicious, the jalapeño add a kick to it. Highly recommend it.
