Worst place on 6th street the bartender was RUDE!!! We ordered 2drinks and didn’t bother leaving a tip because we were planning on leaving a tip before we left with cash instead of credit we were standing by the bar the bartender told us we had to move because that place was only for people that actually leave a tip my husband was upset by hearing this and said very loudly«wow seriously dumbass» the bartender heard him snatched the $ 8 drink we had just paid for and threw it before we could even take a sip and threatened to call security we were so shocked because we didn’t feel like we did anything wrong first of all it’s not mandatory to tip 2nd he shouldn’t have been so rude what happened to the customer is always right… worst experience ever

This place is interesting and smack dab in-between two of my usual frequents, Library and Aquarium … There isn’t anything particularly awesome about this place except that later at night it becomes super packed so the roof top feature no longer helps you escape the crowd and the heat. They are apparently owned by some younger people, and you can kind of tell. Everything is sort of messy, and people are forgetting drink orders and confusing bills etc. Drinks are cheap-ish, crowd is feisty and bartenders cannot keep up this late at night. Generally just another place to check out I suppose.

First time at this place was a Saturday night– was a human circus + fire hazard. I have absolutely nothing against a good stripper-pole dance competition but after chatting with the locals I felt as if I needed to purell my entire body. I also do not suggest you call a bar«Rooftop» unless there is actually a rooftop area associated with it –I also really don’t think if you can call it a «bar» if there is only two bartenders working on a Saturday night… I think those are called«bistros.» Contradictions aside, I’ll probably go back. maybe the 2nd time will be the charm!

First time at this place. Over all it was ok, was pretty packed for a Thursday night. I would go back for sure, and hopefully next time another bartender, seemed to take a while as they only had a couple. Worth checking out for sure.

This place in on 6th street, and on my dining points list. Had it not been for those two things alone, I probably wouldn’t have spent any money here. I asked the bartender what the specials were(some chic) and she told me they ended at 11pm. Well the doors were still locked at 10:30 when we tried to stop by the first time. I guy standing outside told us that they«take their time opening» What kind of bull is that?! So it’s memorial day, Monday, every bar on 6th is shouting specials at us as we pass, and we are standing in the only one with nothing to offer but a good view of a dirty street. Great. Like I said, it was on my dining points list, so we stayed and spend expensive money any way. But had that not been the case we would have jetted.

The Rooftop seems to have appeared out of nowhere… I don’t recall there being a spot between Library and Aquarium before this bar showed up. The bar is very nice and clean, with a West 6th feel to it, but it seems out of place being located between those two bars. DJ Davros was spinning the night that I was there, and he was very good. Great transitions between songs that don’t sound forced, which should be DJ101, but this guy was better than most that you’ll find on 6th. There wasn’t any hot and heavy dancing going on, but the music was great. The bartenders were alright. They didn’t seem to be in too big of a rush though. Perhaps they were bitter about tending a West 6th style bar with a dirty 6th crowd and dirty 6th tips? Prices were nothing to write home about. In my experience, I would say it’s a good stop on the bar crawl. Go to Library for the drink prices, then jump to The Rooftop for some good music and atmosphere.

This is a bar that seems more fitting for West 6th street but its actually a really nice fit for 6th street. The owners are young and hip. They come from the San Marcos area… so its pretty populated with good looking Texas State girls. The interior is beautiful wood and TVs. They have an indoor and outdoor patio with a retractable rooftop. Very modern and clean looking… a nice addition to the block. Best of luck to them!
