The Leaf Group

In a domain like real estate rentals and a market as big and volatile as Austin’s there are going to be mixed reviews for any management company. My experience, now as the owner of two rental homes is Louie, Travis and their team have been professional and considerate to us and our potential renters. They found us a great tenant for the first property and she and we are very happy with The Leaf Group and we expect the same for the second rental.

Louie returned my call seeking information about what was a too good to be true apartment listing. I could barely get a word in before being hung up on after asking me to hold onto his number. It was promptly deleted.

Thank you to Justin at the Leaf group! Moving to Austin from out of state, Justin made navigating the city and narrowing my search a breeze. He found apartments based on my detailed wishlist quickly! It was wonderful to have a knowledgeable realtor. Couldn’t be happier with my new pad!

Living in a leaf group property has been the absolute worst rental experience we’ve ever had. The yard was torn out after one month of us living there (1512 Forest trail), and was replaced 3 days before we moved out, leaving us with 6 months worth of mud to look out on.
The roach infestation was appalling, in spite of us being extremely clean people, and making multiple requests and complaints to The Leaf Group (probably as a result of the mud pit we’ve lived with our whole rental period).
These are by far the most incompetent people I’ve ever worked with, I advise you to NEVER lease a property managed by this group!

Louie is a thief and a monster. He is the kind of person you need to stay away if you are looking for a great place to live. I just became a victim. He acts like that there is only one place avaliable. it is a lie. als shows different unit. totally different from his ads. Ads says wood floor but filthy carpet. Rent price is also different. just keep raising even while you talking with that son of bitch. the ads doesn’t say anything about the rent could be variable.
You wonder? go and experince. and you will know. He also pushes us to pay deposit on the same day he showed the filthy apartment. His ads only tells application fee but you are going to be ready for whatever much he will ask about administration fee, too. You can’t walk out wihout paying at least over 400 ~ 600 dollars all together. Don’t be played like us. I was stupid to be played by that monster. FALSE ADVERTISMENT. take his ads when you meet him. Please. please don’t be played by that monster. He is a lier and a thief. He will be not sucessful and exist anymore if we altogether fight back when he keeps screwing common people like us.
Please trust me.

Thieves. This company has cost me more money and aggravation than I can list out here, and all on a SIX MONTH lease. They took over for the previous property management company a month after I moved in. (I won’t even get started on the utility situation.) But after that 2^nd month, not only did they misplace overpaid rent money (overpaid because it took them almost the entire lease to properly document the security deposits as having been paid on their website), but they also charged me for a front door to be repaired after moving out. The front door was busted and would not latch properly from my move in date. I made a maintenance request 3 months in, when it stopped closing without being locked. They «repaired» it by putting screws in the door, the maintenance guy telling me he would let them know it needed to be replaced, and it was decided could take care of it after I moved out since it was such a short lease and I was content with the way it closed with the screws holding it together. (This was all notated in my file on their ‘Tenant portal’). It wasn’t until I called to inquire about my deposit that I discovered I be the one responsible for the cost of replacing the entire thing.
When I attempted to make my case to «Travis» he explained that he «understood my concern» and how I could be upset. Then said there was nothing he could do about it– I asked who was the one making the call and he said «myself»; (also informed me when I asked who else I could talk to that the only person above him was the CEO, etc.) So thanks, Travis. I appreciate your «concern» for the people you are ripping off. In this case, a single mom, who lost a $ 150 security deposit and a $ 300 PET deposit (a pet deposit that was put down for a 5 year old dog who died halfway through the lease without a single inch of damage done to the apartment) so that your company could pay for a front DOOR that was very clearly busted out years before you took over a property that you knew needed work.
I did not have ONE pleasant experience dealing with these people. And you could not PAY me to live at another one of their properties.

It doesn’t get any better than The Leaf Group. Hardworking and dedicated staff who makes it their mission to find your perfect place. Louie is one of a kind, from the first phone call, to an apartment showing, he has your back and truly wants to find the best fit for you. Having only been in Austin three weeks, Louie made me feel at home and eased the entire process. Cant thank The Leaf Group and Louie enough!!!

I found what I thought was a great deal on a rental property from the leaf group. Upon visiting with Louie and viewing the apartment, I found the apartment to be completely different from the one shown in the pictures. I’m not sure how you can just false advertise like that but showing wood floors in the online posting and then showing me filthy carpet in person is not a great way to get me to want to rent from you. Louie also tried to force me to put the money down that day stating that the apartment shown was the only one left in that style and that it would surely go quickly, even though the next day I saw the leaf group post an additional unit for rent in the same style.
In all, everything was very sketchy and I would be very cautious about doing business with Louie Divino.

You post an advertisement showing an awesome place to live with a great price, you list your number so that potential renters can call you to express their interest in your listing. Then, when those potential renters call you to speak to you about the awesome place that YOU listed; you act annoyed and much too busy to speak with them… GREAT SALES PLAN LOUIE! I was literally left speechless by the rude and abrasive manner In which I was treated when I called Louie to speak with him about one of his listings. He seem very annoyed that I could not give him the exact address of the place I was calling him about, he talked over me, seemed very rushed, then promised to call me back with further information, which he never did. Luckily, Apartment locators in this city are a dime a dozen and one man’s loss is literally another more skilled, professional, and attentive person’s gain.

I have nothing but FANTASTIC things to say about Louie Divino! I sold my house & had a very short turnaround time to rent a new place. On top of that I had a specific area, price & amenities that I wanted. Louie delivered & then some. He was patient with me & available whenever I needed him, from an entire Saturday afternoon to an early Sunday morning. He found exactly what I needed. Plus, everyone seems to know & like him at every property we visited or called. I would highly recommend him & will refer him to anyone needing his property services.

Tony is the man! He assisted us in finding our new apartment. He was very attentive, spent a lot of time going above and beyond to meet our needs, and made us feel very welcome along the way. We will definitely utilize his services when we buy our first home.

Louie was great! I called this morning before the office even opened and I received a call back a short time after. Louie was very flexible with my schedule and we were able to schedule a showing for the same day. Even though the space was not ultimately what I needed, Louie showed a great attitude and true interest in helping me.

My husband contacted Louie Devino through a recommendation here on Unilocal.We weren’t quite sure whether we wanted to move into a house or another apartment from the beginning. He told me to send him pictures of houses I liked, what my priorities were, how far we were willing to drive, etc. Within our time frame he found us exactly what we were looking for. He seems to be quite well known in the leasing business in a great way because people spoke of him with such great respect. Louie was such a joy to work with. He is very professional but has a very warm and caring side to his personality. If you need someone to find you your next place whether it’s to lease, rent or own, be sure to give Louie a call. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Louis Devino is the man! I came across him by luck and he was able to show me this really nice place the next day. Unfortunately, it wasn’t what I was looking for, but he set up an appointment for a few days later.
I walked in to his office and he asked me a few questions to see what I was looking for and then started making phone calls. 20 minutes later we were in his SUV looking at 6 properties, all of which were fantastic. It seemed everyone at the leasing offices knew him and had high praise.
It was very hard to narrow down my choices, but I finally picked a really nice place. Louis is a great guy and I recommend him for anyone who is looking for apartments.

Louis Divino really listened to us and what we wanted. He took time for us just one day before New Year’s Eve, and he showed us several places, never making us feel rushed. We were amazed how easy he made it to find an apartment in Austin!

The Leaf Group overtook the management of the property I was renting from. They are slow to respond to requests if at all. If something breaks you better be prepared to wait at least a week to have it repaired. If they are managing the property you are going to potentially rent from, please run away.

Louie found us exactly what we were looking for in an apartment complex! We’re in love… and I can guarantee that next time we’re on a search he’ll be the first person I call. Friendly, knowledgable and experienced… call Louie if you’re looking for your dream apartment!

Called on recommendation from a friend, immediately wished I hadn’t. Before I even finished describing the particulars of what I was looking for, Louie cut me off and told me he doesn’t «deal in that sort of thing.» Which was confusing because all I had said was that I was looking for a house/​condo near central Austin. What part of that does a real estate service not «deal» in? He then directed me to a website that lists rental apartments and homes in Austin, wished me luck on my search, and promptly hung up.
Overall, unimpressed. Seems like a rude dude. I heard from a few friends that he brushed them off, too. I have since been dealing with another group that has been much more accommodating. Don’t waste your time calling these folks.
