The chips were stale. I liked the salsa. The service is slow. I had the two crispy taco plate. I thought it was good but nothing special. The establishment is clean. I will come and try again.

Been a few times! Live right down the road. Saw some reviews saying people found hair in their food. The last time we went we found hair in our food. That’s a wrap. We won’t be back.

Ordered a combo(combination) plater for my mom that is supposed to come with a torta enchilada and taco… was asked what meats i want and i said chicken. All i was given was chicken rice and beans… when i called to inquire why all i was given was chicken rice and beans she said because i said combination plater i should’ve said combo… combo is a shortened version of combination. she didn’t even try to rectify the situation… i wouldn’t recommend going here at all! Also the chips and beans tasted rancid. The chicken flautas had no flavor what so ever.

I get to-go food from here pretty regularly. They have a liquor license now and can serve alcoholic drinks! The beef fajita quesadillas are some of the best I have ever had. The servers there are always so sweet and smiling. And the price is very reasonable. Good job, La Tapatia.

Excellent breakfast tacos & love the red salsa! We get the Migas tacos with avocado and they’re always on point.

I ordered a to-go Torta Cubana and a side of fries. Normally fries don’t come included with Torta’s at most restaurants so I knew there would be a charge for the fries. The Torta said $ 4.99 on the menu so it’s a decent price, no biggie I can add fries right? I ended up paying $ 10.00 for the Torta and Fries. I figured since the fries were five dollars it would be a bucket of endless fries,(I can dream), or that they would be covered in cheese, but no. It was just a small box of plain fries that left me disappointed. Definitely not worth five dollars. I asked for Red Salsa and Ketchup to go, and I received a green salsa and Ketchup. I will probably go back because the food is really good, but I will not be ordering the five dollar fries since they are not endless nor filled with cheese.

Solid, quick lunch if you’re looking for some cheap, authentic Mexican food. Don’t expect anything fancy or overly-friendly service, but it gets the job done.

This use to be my favorite place to get tacos until I found a hair in my taco. Looks short and curly…

The food was not good, tasted overly processed. My boyfriend and I both got the same plate, both ended with diarrhea/nausea the next day, ALLDAY. Full fledged food poisoning. Stay away. Stay far away!

Came in with my boyfriend. The service was great. Ordered 2 tortas de milanesa, one picadillo taco and lengua(beef tongue) taco. Those tacos were delicious. The tortas were not our favorite but we will definitely be back to try more stuff on the menu. The restaurant was clean and our food came out quickly. Very happy first time customer.

If I could leave negative stars I would. I WILLNEVEREATHEREAGAIN. Placed an order called back exactly 3 minutes later to change it and was told they could not change it because it was ready! WOW ok fine. Arrived at restaurant… to wait because it was not ready. Got home my Torta Cubana was COLD. I live literally across the street max 4 minute drive. My husbands ordered a burrito, begins eating there is nothing but beef which he did not mind, until about ½ way the burrito which had lettuce and tomatoes. Basically they didn’t mix the burrito and he had ½ beef ½ salad burrito. 3 hours later stomach craps and diarrhea. Needless to say I will not be going back, EVER!

Every time I go in the ladies are always nice and get to me right away. The food is always fresh and tasty! Biggest plus, they will serve breakfast all day! Their migas are amazing!

This place is great for a quick breakfast. It’s fast and cheap and the tacos are tasty. I came here last weekend for a quick breakfast before driving out of Austin, and was surprised to see that they had tacos for only $ 1 or something like that. I assumed they would be small and unsatisfying given the price but the potato and chorizo one was surprisingly filling. It was also delicious though a little dry which a little bit of salsa solved immediately. I wasn’t hungry after one but I definitely could have eaten another one. My friends also really liked their egg and bacon and chorizo and beans ones. They also start you with free chips and salsa which is great because all we ordered was $ 1 tacos! I can’t comment on the rest of the food but I would definitely come back for some tacos!

Holy cow! I’m not the biggest Mexican food fan. La Tapatia has great food. I enjoyed the Jalisco plate(cheesy rice magical goodness). My husband had the cheese enchiladas and those were also quite tasty. The part I’m excited to try are the variety of pastries for sale that look so decadent they could have been part of the witch’s house in Hansel and Gretel.

Found this place on a search on Unilocal for tacos near me. At first the place looks calm and the three ladies are by the counter welcoming everybody. I ask for three tacos. tripa, fajita and al pastor. They all tasted very nice. The salsa does have a good kick and the chips are your standard. Asking for the menu back and I have not been asked if there is anything that I would like to order? I find it strange since there are only three tables being waited and one table has two waitress talking and gossiping. Perhaps I should of arrived speaking only Spanish would I get some follow up service. Hmmm. After 12 minutes.. I get to place my order in for a egg and potato taco. just to get a taste of what some might say. it’s pretty good. More to follow… To my suprise. just a egg and potato on a flour tortilla was rock solid. I know can say I have my go to location for breakfast tacos.

Breakfast plate was cheap and quick — but the beans were watery and salty and the plate was served with odd square meat that i couldn’t identify. Cheap and easy, but you get what you pay for here.

Couldnt wait to Unilocal even before I finished my pastry. So moist and buttery croissant roll stuffed full of bavarian cream. Melt in your mouth like cotton candy. The service was very friendly and helpful. They speak Spanish and English. Ask for Yajaiia she was my waitress. Can not wait to make this my morning spot!

Went in for lunch the other day with a couple other people. My husband ordered the tacos el pastor because he has decided this is how you judge a mexican restaurant. He rated his tacos a 4. He said they were very tasty and full of flavor. I had the flautas and would rate them a 3. They were A-OK, but nothing really special. And our friend had enchiladas which he also rated at a 3. He said they were good but again nothing special. The service was friendly and prompt, the location handy for us(right on our route home from shopping) and the atmosphere good. I would like to return to try the breakfast tacos and/or the bakery items some time — I think(based on other reviews) that might change my rating a bit.

There’s something about the magical healing power of menudo… their music transcended generations and their Latin beats and rhythms were… oh, wait. I got a little sidetracked. I mean the soup, not Ricky Martin’s springboard into fame. I have been known to partake in the consumption of alcoholic beverages. There… I said it. Sometimes, I partake too much. And when I do, I find myself making my way to La Tapatia for the magical hangover elixir that is menudo. It’s rich peppery broth is invigorating and revitalizing. The chewy texture of the tripe combined with the hominy provides the sustenance. Once garnished with fresh cilantro, crunchy onions, and lime juice… there is nothing finer. As I lean over the bowl, the steam meets my face. The spiciness induces a sweat… a cleansing sweat. As I feel the previous nights beverages exiting form my pores, I know everything will be alright. Truthfully, I could probably walk here. Seriously, though… who wants to walk a few hundred meters with a hangover. Yeah… me neither. I’ve ventured outside my immediate area in search of other menudo options. While there are some other good menudo joints in my area, none seem to match the flavor and consistency of La Tapatia. Now, before you think I’m sort of lush and I only come here for the menudo… I have in fact eaten many other items here. I typically hit their a la cart tacos. Pork leg, tripas, barbacoa, pastor… I have never been disappointed. Simple and delicious… and cheap! …by the way. What ever happened to Ricky Martin?
