There are lots of tacos trucks down in Austin but up here in Lakeway/Hudson bend there are only a few to choose from, as Lakeway with their snooty attitude does not allow food trucks. Tacqueria Rosita is a food trailer off of RR620 in Huson Bend… gotta look for it… it’s easy to miss because it is down a little hill next to one of those E cigarette stores. I really like this place. great simply made tacos for $ 1.75. I like the Tacos El pastor. spicy, red, slightly oily fat-free pork. I really don’t like to get pieces of pork fat in my pork tacos as is the case in a lot of taco trucks… but have never had that problem here. The Carnitas are also nicely done and the Gordita is a tasty belly filler. Early in the morning they have breakfast tacos and lunch has a choice of all of the common Mexican cuisine available. Accompanied by their great little cups of red or Verde salsa. The only thing I have to say bad is that a couple of times I have been overcharged/short changed. Sometimes I will buy the same things and get charged different prices… so count your change and watch the adding. Other than that I really prefer this place over many brick and mortar restaurants. OH!!! and they have a nice assortment of Mexican soft drinks!!! Cheap good food quickly… a good combo.

For over the past year, I have been unwittingly been checking into, visiting, eating, and writing reviews for this food stand under the name of Taqueria Los Botellos(same address; different owner). Rosita took over this authentic Mexican taco(and other goodies) stand about three years ago and it wasn’t until my most recent visit I found out because she got a new sign! So, here is the review that actually belongs and is deserved by Rosita: Authentic small taqueria permanent stand. Fantastic, fresh breakfast tacos for $ 1.50 each served with great Mexican taco sauce(not to be confused with salsa). Oh yeah baby! Egg, chorizo, cactus, bacon, jamon — or make your own… plenty of fillings to choose from stuffed into a homemade flour tortilla! Lunch tacos a whopping $ 1.75 each and loaded with protein! Beef barbacoa, grilled chicken, even sauteed, soft chicharron if you please — all very tasty! Your choice of flour or corn — and yes, extra hot sauce please — especially the red! Smoky yummy spicy goodness! Rosita also offers up some amazing looking burritos, quesadillas, and even Mexican Plates with rice and beans; however, I’ve yet to fall off of the taco wagon so-to-speak. One day. And, when I do, you know I’ll be back on Unilocal to update my review! No matter breakfast or lunch you will want to order more than one taco! And don’t forget to get a nice chilled Jarritos to wash it all down with!
