The drive thru guy PERRY restored faith in my taco cabana endeavors! Before tonight I’ve had very sub par experiences. The only person that deserves any other credit is the individual who hired this taco wielding guru!

You know every time I go to Taco Cabana I try to tell myself not to expect much. I know I’m getting cheap fast food and that’s all I want. I don’t have any problems with the food quality here. its ok food and its cheap. The problem is that even if I lower my standards and don’t expect much they somehow can never seem to get my order right. Its not like I ask for anything special. They just somehow leave something out or do something wrong no matter what. All I expect from Taco Cabana is fast cheap crappy food. they cant even get that right most of the time.

10:20 and we ordered breakfast tacos. We were told they had cooked the last batch of eggs. We left. Surprising they cannot get their ordering right.

TERRIBLE wait times because they are ALWAYS understaffed! Not only do they make you wait several minutes before even allowing you to order, but the food takes FOREVER to get to you in line inside or drive-thru. I cringe when my kids say they want tacos from here because the wait is sooooo long. I wish Taco Casa or Some other drive-thru taco chain would open up in S. Austin!!! Also, there is a very nice older African American man and Hispanic man who work here who are both very nice, but some of the younger crew members are moody more often than not.

Every single time I order in the drive thru, I spent a majority of my time in the drive thru line. As I’m doing now. For the millionth time. They take FOREVER with drive thru orders. I just don’t understand it.

Gross… Look at this pic. What kind of people work here? If this is what they show the people in line outside what happens inside?

I’m jumping for joy as my order was actually correct, two times in two weeks! That’s a really big deal for TC. They often forget parts of your order and you get home and it’s too late. Totally excited about this!!!

They have got to get a new cashier. The lady they have had for the last year(at least when we go in the evenings) has NEVER gotten our order right.

Service was extremely slow and the place was not even crowded. There were a lot of employees there. Machine was out of ice and it took 15 min and three people later to finally get someone to fill it back up. The salsa bar was out of several varieties, there were no cups to put salsa in. There was salsa, onions, cilantro, and jalapeños all over the bar and needed to be cleaned. The food was very lacking, not much flavor, tortillas were small, had what seemed to be a teaspoon size of guacamole with my meal. The beans were hard and not cooked thoroughly. When you walk, you could hear and feel the shoes of people sticking to the floor. We had to clean a table ourselves to sit down. Womens bathroom was lacking the use of the handicapped stall as it was locked with. One in it and no sign displaying that it was out of order. Toilet paper was almost out.

UGGGG!!! So hubby and I were hungry, it was late, we were tired, both had had a long day at work and made the mistake of thinking Taco Cabana, because it was close and the food used to be good. Like I said, ‘Used to be,’ like when they first started out used to be. Now, it’s run by incompetent people who think that they don’t make enough working fast food and need to be paid more to stand around. Kind of funny considering you can see inside the kitchen. We waited for someone to take our order, while one young man stood by leaning on the to go window doing nothing, knowing we were waiting. Three women were working trying to fill an order while he stood by watching. When he finally decided to wait on us, it was like he was doing us a favor. Last time I checked, if I’m spending money at your establishment, I’m the one doing you the favor, by spending my hard earned money at your establishment. There are over 500 Mexican restaurants in Austin TX, I will be going to one of them next time. I digress, it took over twenty minutes to get our food, and when he finally did bring it out, he dropped it on the table like he was feeding animals at a trough. Really, that is what Taco Cabana has decided to hire for it’s employees. Don’t know about the hubby, but I won’t be going back. I could have waited at Garcia’s on Wm. Cannon for the same amount of time, and gotten a decent meal served to me like a human being with homemade flour tortilla’s, and chips and salsa that are not extra on the bill. Apparently the hire ups at Taco Cabana don’t eat at their own restaurants.

I’m sad to write this because I use to love this Taco Cabana the most, but this past year they just would ALWAYS miss something in my order. MULTIPLE times I paid for add-ons to my tacos and would never get what I paid for. It happens pretty much every time I go. Hopefully they can read all these reviews about this issue and try to make a change.

Asked for cheese on my tacos. Got charged for cheese on my tacos. Did not receive cheese on my tacos. How hard is it to sprinkle cheese on tacos?! My guac was also maybe the size of my thumbnail. Overall I was very unsatisfied with my experience at this location.

Food is good, but just waited 30 minutes for queso and some tacos! What’s the deal? This is supposed to be fast food!

Why do my hubby and I keep going back??? Tonight, 25 minutes for a dang salad and a quesadilla. Rude manager. Didn’t even get our food. What a waste of time and effort. We will NOT be back, THIS is IT.

Me and my boyfriend both woke up and thought to ourselves, we are hungry. We discussed it further and decided to go on a burrito hunt. We tried Taco Bell but at 3:00 am it was closed. Our next choice was Taco Cabana on Manchaca. The experience we came home with was not what we expected-or ordered. We were so excited to open our carne asada tacos and I knew they didn’t smell right. I unwrapped the taco to find a cheap chili made taco with three chunks of unknown meat. After putting the cilantro, onions, and salsa on top the first bite was the worst. The chili was so strong that I still can’t decide what kind of meat was actually inside under all of this chili. Remind you the chili would have been good with a hotdog. I am extremely glad I further ordered at the drive-thru with a bean and cheese burrito that happily made our midnight munchies settled for once. I am glad to say that I will not be returning to this location of Taco Cabana in the future.

Gross… The salsa bar is pathetic. Old pico and red salsa turned brown, and sad looking cilantro and no refills in sight. Fruit Flies everywhere in the main lobby area. I even found some random piece of plastic in my enchiladas. No one seemed to care to much about the dirty tables around us… Or the horrible customer service. Having one chicken taco and one beef taco was apparently a three person ordeal to order.

You constantly break my heart. Why must you be so darn tight with your cheese? I mean, I pay EXTRA for cheese and you give me crumbs. You’re like a drug, I keep going back. Even though I know you will burn me, I still keep taking more. It’s okay, at least your tortillas are homemade and 1 out of 10 times you will surprise me. I’m guilty of going in for a tasty, cheap margarita. I’m scared to know what you put in it at that price? Your fajitas are so darn good. I always get double rice. Your rice really hits the spot. You also carry the red fanta. I like the red fanta. Truthfully, if it wasn’t for your consistency of being super tight with your cheese, you would get 4 stars. It’s convenient. I love the box of breakfast tacos for the baseball team and your open early. Oh, you also run great specials on Facebook.

AVOIDATALLCOSTS: this tc is the absolute worst tc I’ve ever been to and that’s saying a lot. It’s convenient location is the only reason I’ve been a repeat offender. Literally EVERYTIME I go here I am not only disappointed but completely dumbfounded as to how they can completely mess up my order. Forgetting a taco or two, forgetting to add sides(such as guacamole or queso, which I’m charger for), forgetting to add cheese, giving out bottom of the barrel salsa that should’ve been discarded. Sure I’ve complained and had my order refunded but it’s not worth the blood aneurism caused by their lack of efficiency or complete stupidity. I will walk the extra five miles barefoot on broken glass to the next taco cabana before I stop here again. Yours truly, Patrick

This was a tough review to write but I have been screwed over 20 times here and this was the straw that broke the camels back. Love the food and dislike the employees at this location. It’s hit or miss sometimes you get what is expected and others you get something that looks like the people that are making the food are either on drugs or do not give a f$&@ about what they are giving you. Tonight I got four tacos with a spoon full of beef in each. Bah. Please re-configure your employees taco cabana and hire someone that actually cares.

Terrible in every way shape and form. Cant believe I even put myself through this, hands down one of the worst meals I’ve ever had before in my life, plus shit was missing from my order when i got home. Fuck this place.
