I have been searching for a great sushi place for a long time now, and now I can rest knowing I’ve found the best one yet. This place has great service, great food, and very friendly people. I might be coming here every week.

Great taste for a great price. I had one of the lunch specials in the menu it was the one with the sashimi combo, I thought of doing the all you can eat but I’m glad I didn’t because the plate I order was very filling. I would recommend this place to any of my friends that love sushi.

Excellent & friendly service, reasonable wait times for food, and a comprehensive menu full of tasty food. Appetizers and desserts are included in the buffet, making it feel like a complete meal. They are not strict on the 90 minute time limit for orders, and it is understandable that a few foods on the menu are limited to one per order. Overall, it was a fantastic experience(probably the best sushi buffet I’ve been to), and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Went in today for lunch, the dining area is much larger than the south location. 20% full on a saturday, was seated promptly and had my order placed in 10 mins. Food came out at different times and was pretty solid overall. The taco shell from the fish taco was really oily, reminds me of the taco bowls from high school. The specialty rolls were decent, not on par with my other favorite sushi restaurants but that was to be expected at an AYCE restaurant. Get the screaming and white o! Server was nice but sometimes forgot my orders. There have been new changes since I last been the south location, lunch is now $ 22, there’s a one per person limit on screaming/white o, mochi and anything highlighted in red. There’s now a time limit on your orders, 60 min for lunch, 90 min for dinner. If you waste food, they could charge you extra for it, so order wisely.

Great sushi with plenty of variety. The service was phenomenal. The environment was great for catching up with friends. Very clean and modern restaurant. Plenty of sitting room and comfortable. The buffet includes appetizers and desserts. I am definitely going back,

We just finished eating here and we were beyond satisfied. The restaurant had a light crowd so we were able to order right away. We ordered 15 rolls the first order with some appetizers. Each roll came on a separate plate so it was easy to pass around the table. Our favorite rolls were the spider roll, the dragon roll, and the ex girlfriend. We also enjoyed the calamari tempura and the shrimp tempura. It was also all you can eat dessert so we ordered multiple orders of green tea ice cream and ice brownies. All of the food was great! The wait staff was awesome! They were very attentive and kept the food coming the whole time we were there. They made our dining experience very enjoyable! They say there is a time limit on the menu but it is not strict at all. We stayed for 2 hours and were completely satisfied. This is the best place for AYCE sushi. We will be coming back soon!

Sushi Junai 2 is a great new place for AYCE sushi in North Austin, TX. The wait staff is friendly and the chefs are great as well. I really recommend eating at the bar so that you interact with the chefs. The price is fair and you will definitely get your money’s worth if you do the All-you-can-eat menu price of $ 29.95. If you’re picky and just want to do the A La carte menu … GOSOMEWHEREELSE. It’s ALL or NOTHINGBABY! My friends and I have been long time customers of Sushi Junai(downtown Austin location: Lavaca St and 16th St). We’ve been patiently waiting for this location to open up ever since we saw the signs put up last year. The restaurant’s interior is amazing and is quite beautiful. The wood carving designs and ambience are all great. Also it has very nice restrooms. With this location you don’t have to worry about looking for or paying for parking or waiting outside the front door because of it being full like at the downtown location. I will give fair warning though. THEREAREBUSYDAYS! Usually on weekend days! So go in with caution and plan ahead. I believe if you become a regular to this location, they give you your own personal chopsticks that you can use there and it comes in a decorative wooden box that you can personalize. They will clean them and give them back to you to store in their cubby area after you finished your meal. But I can’t guarantee that because I think they gave them to the folks who went in opening week. You can probably just ask them about it and they may give you a set. My recommendations for sushi rolls: Final destination Cucumber passion Salmon strip My Ex Girlfriend My recommendation for sashimi: White O Screaming O I feel the negative reviews here have been little harsh. I haven’t found any other place like Sushi Junai 2. Can anyone show me another place that serves good quality ALLYOUCANEATSUSHI here in Austin, TX??? didn’t think so… To those who love sushi and can’t get enough of it or if you were a bear in another life… PLEASE! PLEASE try Sushi Junai 2! I have no regrets for this place. Thank you and goodnight!

I can’t eat rice. However I don’t qualify for the sushi all-you-can-eat because they specifically add as a requirement«you will be charged A LACARTE prices for LEFTOVERS including SUSHIRICE.» This just seems draconian, especially given the lack of an all you can eat sashimi option. The food was good, but definitely not a bargain if you can’t eat rice.

Overall this place is a poorly run nightmare. We arrived with a party of 6 at 6:30 this evening and were seated rather promptly as it was only about 2/3rds full. A waitress took our drink orders nearly immediately and had them out promptly. After that though, things went downhill fast. About 30 minutes passed between when ordered our drinks and when we got fed up with the lack of attention and were finally able to flag down a waitress to take our order. Despite all ordering at the same time, the meals came out at wildly different times. The soonest came out about 30 minutes later with the latest coming out about an hour or so after ordering, leaving half our group with a small amount of food and the other half with out any. Two of us were ordering the all you can eat and we were able to place a second order before our first came out which still almost came out at the same time as one the first orders we placed. The food itself was rather mediocre, at best and it seemed like there was a clear difference in quality between the same items ordered a la carte or all you can eat. The few rolls we did try seemed to drown in sauce which was rather overpowering; you couldn’t really taste the fish at all. I wouldn’t even really consider it «all you can eat» since they apply a 90 minute timer to when you can order and given their pace of getting the food out, you can make maybe 2 orders before you 90 minutes is up. The one redeeming quality was the waitstaff who were genuinely courteous and obviously trying really hard in an unfortunate situation. It’s clear many of them were rather new to waiting as they didn’t always seem to know who was waiting what table nor what table ordered what food however they were trying their best. To handle the 2/3rds full restaurant, they needed at least 2 more wait staff and 3 more sushi chefs.

I gave 1 stars instead of 0 because of the waitstaff. They are friendly and apologetic. The food service, however, was abysmal. There was no wait when we arrived, even a couple of empty tables. After getting drinks, 36 minutes passed before we were able to flag down a server to take food orders. Once placed, it was an additional 33 minutes before food began arriving. That is 1 hour and 9 minutes from sitting down to eating. Not only was the wait long for food, there was no rhyme or reason to when items arrived. I was done with my udon(which arrived ~10 minutes before anyone else’s food) a full 30 minutes before my wife even got her salmon. The rest of the table(we were only 6 people) got their food scattered over the next half hour with some items we ordered never even arriving before we had to leave. All in all 2 hours and 15 minutes of looking, waiting, and questioning for this experience. And the food itself was average. I rarely have bad things to say, I tend to tip well on benefit of the doubt more often than not, but this was just bad. The food is not worth the price or the hassle. Perhaps they just need more time to get adjusted, but my advice is to go there when it is at least half empty because anywhere close to slightly busy they seem to fall apart. Final verdict: Go to Hanabi instead.

Read as 4 stars for the value if going with AYCE but 3 stars if going a la carte for sushi. Sushi Juani is an awesome place to meet up with friends to enjoy AYCE sushi! Lunch will set you back $ 19.95 for adults and for kiddos 2 – 7 $ 10.95 while dinner service is $ 29.95 for adults and for children under $ 15.95. There is no sharing from the AYCE dining guests with those opting for a la cart. Lunch is limited to 60 minutes for AYCE while dinner is limited to 90 minutes. The host, chefs and our waiter were upbeat and super friendly. We didn’t come prepared with an appetite for the AYCE so we opted for a couple a la cart menu items. They serve bottled beers, sake and wine. I would recommend that Sushi Junai list their wines in more detail on the wine menu and perhaps get the staff trained up on knowing what is served as our waiter replied he did not know. And he didn’t offer to find out for me until I asked him to do so. This location is new and really that was the only small kink in the experience. I ordered the cucumber paradise roll and Jesse ordered tonkatsu. I enjoyed my rice-less sashimi style roll with a variety of fish wrapped in fresh cucumber but I would opt to order it without the sauce that was very garlicy next time. Jesse tonkatsu was a great value! The crisp pork cutlet was served up nice and warm with a house katsu sauce served with rice, veggies, salad and a cup of miso for $ 12.95. My tip is come here for the rolls and do AYCE or get a hardy dish like the tonkatsu. If you are going a la cart for the sushi the price point is high enough that I may lean towards going to my go to stay sushi spots.
