I was blown away by the beauty & peace at this temple. As a practicing Buddhist I wa absolutely in awe of what surrounded me. From the chime of the temple bells to the beauty of the architecture & the statues inside! I felt enormous peace

Burmese Buddhist Temple, very cool place to visit, very peaceful and very clean. Be respectful and be quiet, take your shoes off when entering the temple. I can’t believe a place like this existed in the middle of Texas, a must visit

Pretty neat place to visit! Just like visiting any other place of worship, be respectful. The monks will eat whatever gifts you bring so come prepared. Interesting temple, worship area and housing for those coming for a retreat. Allows for a look at another religion and culture!

This is a Burmese Buddhist temple that’s currently under construction, but also currently open to the public. I visited for the Burmese New Year on April 13 and enjoyed some great food. Everyone was very friendly. I hear they have a few other festivals during the year as well, such as the Sticky Rice Fest. That’s my kind of event! Some events for 2013: Feb 23 – 24 — Sticky Rice Festival —(Hta Ma Hne Pwe) March 23 — Sitagu Sayadawgyi’s 76th Birthday Ceremony April 13 — New Year Thin Gyan(Water) Festival May 25 — Buddha Day Ceremony June 22 – 23 — Sitagu Shwe Si Khom Pagoda Grand Opening Ceremony July 20 — Waso Robe Offering Ceremony
